  • This study was performed to survey the exchange of frames on 83 persons. We investigated frame size, frame type, binocular prism effect etc. 80.4% among motives of frame-exchanges was a damage or corrosion. The type of frames was round-like 62.4% and 37.6% square-like. The size of frames was $49{\Box}18$ and vertical length 33mm on old-frames, $47{\Box}17$ and 31mm on new-frames. The scope of axis variation was average +3.20~3.80. According to estimation by the rule of RAL-RG 915, the inappropriate horizontal prism effect of new spectacles was 42.2%, more than 38.5% on old spectacles. The inappropriate vertical prism effect was 24.1% on old, 33.7% on new spectacles.

  • Purpose: To plan and improve consumers' satisfaction by analyzing consumers' purchasing behavior of spectacles. Also this will show the need of improvement in reliance of an optician. Methods: A total of 307 people (10 to 60 years) participated in individual questionnaires. Questionnaires comprised of general characteristic of surveyed people, purchasing spectacles behavior, satisfaction after purchasing spectacles, reliability of optician, and improvement points of optician. Results: Most important points in selecting the product were the design and the price of the spectacles. 142 people (46.3%) replied "average" and 140 people (45.6%) replied "satisfying" out of maximum point of satisfaction level which was 5 points. 72.3% of people have regularly visiting optical shop due to the high accessibility, after-sales care, and courteous optician. On the contrary, 27.7% replied "never visit same optician shop again" because of the low accessibility, minimal range of products, and high price. Data showed that people had high re liability about the opticians' knowledge of product, and their technique of eye refraction. Data revealed that people did not show high satisfaction about opticians' knowledge of ophthalmology, and price of products. Most important improvement points were accurate spectacle prescription by Opticians rating 42% of reply. Factors most considered during spectacle selection among the 10 to 20 age group were design by 34.8% and price by 10.1%. Among the 40 to 50 age group, most considered factors were design by 14% and spectacle frame material by 10.1%. Conclusions: Satisfaction rate of purchasing spectacles for the total participant group was 4.2 average grades. Reliability of opticians' eye refraction result and prescription was 50.5%. However consumers wanted to obtain more accurate eye refraction result and prescription with more comprehensive explanations. Also, consumers wanted opticians to be sensitive and have appreciative eye in select spectacles for customers, and to offer precise spectacle dispensing services and courteous after-sales care.

  • After we compared the Unaided visual acuity and the Corrected visual acuity who were wearing spectacles, all over elementary school in Iksan, we could get conclusions like these. 1. The grades are getting higher, there are more who are 0.6 unaided visual acuity, and getting higher Corrected who were wearing spectacles. 2. There are 30% who have to change their wearing spectacles. 3. Higher grade separated into good or worth visual acuity then lower grade. 4. When the first grade grow up third grade, change of unaided visual acuity increased at 0.2, decreased 0.7 and 1.0, but the case of fourth grade becomes sixth grade shown a little changes unaided visual acuity.

  • We tried to design a Galilean telescopic spectacles for low vision which is with reference to goods of German. The design bases are that the magnification is 2.2X for general using and the diameter of aperture stop is 3mm. The Galilean telescopic spectacles is designed by using Sigma 2100 made in Kidger Optics Ltd. As a result, we have got the system that the MTF-value is more than 0.25 at 0.25 cycles/arc-minute and the distortion is under 1%. This system is judged to be useful for low vision.

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate sole effect of therapy of spectacles correction on the refractive amblyopia. Spectacles were prescribed to give the same effect as the occlusion therapy undercorrecting in the case of hyperopia, and effectiveness of the therapy was compared with occlusion therapy without additional prescription. The results can be summarized as follows: 1. The higher anisometropic power was the lower initial visual acuity was. 2. Anisometropic power did not influence final visual acuity. 3. The latter beginning time of therapy was the higher astigmatism was. 4. Therapy of spectacles correction on the hyperopic amblyopia was quite effective.

  • This article analyze that the everyday life shown in reality entertainment, and examine the semiotics of reality entertainment and the everyday life. With the perspectives of Guy Debord and Olivier Razac, the everyday life in the reality entertainment be concluded the Spectacles of everyday life. And it brings to Barthes's structure of Myth, designs the stricture of reality entertainment. Unlike Debord and Razac, who only refer to the public as passive audience, today's consumers are capable of active interpretation and consumption-the active audience. Instead of criticizing only the media's adverse function, Spectacle, I would like to suggest that the everyday life story-telling of reality entertainment can be interpreted as the recovery of the audience.

Retrospective Inertia of Historic Spots and Spectacles of Baekje's Sabi Period, Represented in Buyeo's Palkyung (부여 팔경으로 본 백제 사비시대 장소와 경물의 회고(懷古) 관성(慣性))

  • By philological geography method for dismantling and reconstituting Buyeo's Palkyung(扶餘 八景), which best signify the image of ancient city Buyeo's landscape, this research is to demonstrate the fact that the place's inertia of certain historic sites has been passed down as a type of geographic code. Titled poems and retrospective poems about Buyeo's Palkyung and its spectacles and landscapes reveal the fact that the splendid and glorious cultural heritage of Baekje had faded but its traces have remained in the each eight views including Nakhwa-am(落花巖), Goran-sa(皐蘭寺), and Jayong-dae(釣龍臺). In addtion, the spectacles and historic sites of Buyeo's Palkyung appear as the symbol of Baekje's fall and loss in the poems. Thus, it can be said that Buyeo's culture and civilization have never escaped from the cultural and historical scars of Baekhe's fall, being dominated by the place's inertia originated from the identity as "Baekje'slastcapital". It is ironical that Buyeo's future development and prosperity are not free from its cultural and historical spectacles which bear the image of the fall of Baekje. 'Older Buyeos' Palkyung(扶餘舊八景)' and, Prior Buyeo's Palkyung(夫餘前八景), originate from nine views of an unknown builder and after the construction of pavilions and towers, 'Subuk-jeong eight views(水北亭八景)' by Heungguk Kim(金興國) and the eight poems of the, Retrospect of Buyeo(扶餘懷古八景), were created. 'Buyeo's later Palkyung(扶餘後八景), which are especially free from the site's inertia are known to have expanded the scope of Buyeo's landscape by deliberately demonstrating spectacles and sites different from those of existing views. Nakhwa-am, Goran-sa, Joryong-dae, Songwal-dae(送月臺), Youngwal-dae(迎月臺), and Pyungje-tap(平濟塔) are all located within a one kilometer radius of Banwol-sung(半月城), Buyeo's palace and the Baekma river(白馬江), Daewang-po(大旺浦), Busan(浮山) in a two kilometers radius. Jaon-dae(自溫臺), Subuk-jeong(水北亭), and Gyuam-jin(窺岩津) are located within a three kilometers radius. Even Chunjeong-dae(天政臺), which are located within a four kilometers radius of Banwol-sung are located alongside the Baekma river. This indicates the fact that these spectacles had not been established temporarily or impromptu but for a long period time by historic retrospect and the inertia of landscape's geographic cycle. In conclusion, the geographic phenomenon of historical and cultural inertia appeared because Buyeo had the geographic message of "fallen, ancient city". Therefore, Buyeo's Palkyung which have constant retrospective inertia is clearly an geographic code effective and helpful to understand not only the characteristics of historic sites and spectacles of Buyeo in the Sabi period but also the quality of the site itself.

  • The weight of spectacles fined on is resolved into its components along the nose's slide plane and the normal to the nose plane where the nosepad is located. The equation and its numerical solution to determine the component force was derived as a function of splay angle ${\Psi}$, $sin{\Psi}$, $cos{\Psi}$, and $cot{\Psi}$, incorporated with ${\theta}$ and ${\Phi}$, the angles viewed from side and front of the face, respectively. Values of inclination angle ${\theta}$ and ${\Phi}$ could be obtained to fulfill the condition where the frictional force between the nose and pad is either greater than the normal pressure exerted by the spectacles on the nose. With the value of ${\theta}$ fixed the normal pressure increases as ${\Phi}$ increases. With ${\Phi}$ fixed, the effect of ${\theta}$ is the same.
