주성분분석을 이용한 C[11]-PIB imaging 영상분석 (Principal component analysis in C[11]-PIB imaging)

  • 주성분분석(Principal component analysis, PCA)은 고차원 변수들 사이의 복잡한 상관성 구조를 더 낮은 차원으로 단순화하여 상관성의 구조를 쉽게 설명하기 위한 다변량분석기법으로 뇌영상 분석에서 자주 사용되는 방법이다. 주성분분석의 기본개념은 서로 직교하는 변수들의 선형결합을 통해서 원래의 뇌영상 자료가 가지고 있는 전체정보를 최대한 설명할 수 있는 서로 독립적인 새로운 변수들을 유도하는 것이다. 뇌영상분석에서 주성분분석의 효율성과 유용성을 알아보기 위해서 C[11]-PIB 영상을 이용하여 분석하였다. 대상 및 방법으로는 평균나이가 같은 9명의 정상인, 10명의 알츠하이머/경도인지장애환자들의 C[11]-PIB 영상을 이용하였다. PET-CT 장비로는 Biograph 6 Hi-Rez (Siemens-CTI, Knoxville, TN)를 영상을 획득하였고 9.6 MBq/kg C[11]-PIB를 정맥주사 한 후 40분 후에 20분 동안 3D acquisition mode로 방출영상을 얻었다. Attenuation map은 X-ray CT scan을 이용하여 재구성하였다(130 kVp, 240 mA). PIB template을 만들기 위해서 정상인에서 3T MRI T1-weighted 영상을 동시에 얻었다. 주성분분석을 위한전처리과정으로서 공간정규화 및 공간편평화를 SPM8을 이용하여 실시하였고 주성분분석은 Matlab2012b를 이용하여 분석하다. 결과는 주성분분석을 통해서 서로 독립적인 주성분영상들을 얻을 수 있었다. 주성분분석을 통해서 얻어진주성분영상은 C[11]-PIB brain PET 영상의 패턴을 몇 개의 주성분으로 단순화 할 수 있었으며 주로는 neocortex를 변동 나타내는 영상, white matter의 변동을 나타내는 영상 그리고 pons등 deep brain의 변동을 나타내는 영상 등으로 단순화되었다. 결론으로는 주성분분석은 C[11]-PIB brain 영상을 단순화하여 영상의 패턴을 해석하는데 매우 유용하였다. 이러한 주성분분석은C[11]-PIB영상 분석뿐만 아니라 뇌의 포도당 대사를 측정하는 FDG-PET 또는 뇌기능영상등의 다변량분석 방법으로서 그 적용범위가 클 것으로 기대된다.

조선 후기 민가 정원 쌍산재의 조영과 변화 과정 (The Creation and Transformation Process of Ssangsanjae as a Private Garden in the Late Joseon Dynasty)

  • 쌍산재는 1800년대 중반에 조성된 민가 정원이다. 북으로 지리산 줄기를 등지고 남으로는 섬진강을 내려다보는, 전형적인 한국의 배산임수 형국을 이루는 터에 입지하고 있다. 조성된 이후 6대를 거쳐 오면서도 정원에 큰 변화 없이 조선 후기 민가 정원의 면모를 잘 간직하고 있는 정원이다. 본 연구는 현장 조사와 인터뷰, 작정자의 유고집과 편액, 주련의 내용 분석을 통해 역사 정원으로서 쌍산재의 변화하는 경관에 대해 고찰하였다. 완만한 구릉지에 위치한 쌍산재는 크게 내원과 외원으로 분류되며, 내원은 진입 공간, 주거 공간, 전이 공간, 후원 영역으로 구분된다. 후원은 서당채와 그 정원, 경암당 등으로 구성되며 외원인 사도저수지 영역으로 이어 진다. 쌍산재의 특징적인 식생 경관은 13,000m2의 죽녹차밭과 잔디밭을 가로지르는 길 양쪽에 열식된 모란과 작약, 그리고 동백이나 사철나무의 휜 가지가 보여주는 액경, 마지막으로 탱자나무와 대나무로 이뤄진 생울타리를 꼽을 수 있다. 쌍산재는 지형과 원식생(原植生)을 고려한 공간 구성과 배치가 돋보인다. 주요 건축물은 후손들이 선대의 아호를 따 이름 지었는데, 벼슬길에 오르지 않고, 은일하며 후학을 양성하고자 했던 선대 조영자들의 철학관이 묻어난다. 오주석 선생이 세운 입석과 하얀 경계석은 쌍산재만의 독특한 정원 시설이다. 현 소유자가 가족들과 방문객의 편의를 위해 조성한 석상, 돌의자, 수영장 등 또한 특징적인 경관을 연출한다. 쌍산재는 거주자에게는 살림집이자 친우들과의 교류의 장, 수신(修身)과 은일(隱逸)의 장이었으며, 아이들에게는 배움의 장이었다면 현재는 여러 사람들이 힐링할 수 있는 민가 정원으로서 성격을 갖는다. 200여 년의 시간이 흐르는 동안 쌍산재의 내외원의 경관은 일부 변화를 겪었다. 이렇듯 변화하는 속성을 가진 역사 정원의 특성은 살아 있는 유산으로서 정원 고유의 속성으로 인식할 필요가 있다. 본 연구는 쌍산재를 조경학 관점에서 다룬 최초의 연구로서, 현존하는 조선조 민가 정원이 매우 적다는 점에서 앞으로 보다 심층적인 연구가 필요할 것으로 본다. 아울러 현재 점차 관심이 높아지고 있는 정원 관광 상품으로서 역사 정원의 가치와 효용을 가늠해 볼 여지도 있을 것으로 판단된다.

박물관의 비정형건축형태분류와 전시공간과의 융합상관성 고찰 - 네덜란드, 독일, 싱가포르를 중심으로 - (A study of convergence correlation between freeform architecture classification of museum and exhibition space -Focus on the Netherlands, Germany and Singapore-)

  • 본 연구는 박물관 비정형건축형태가 늘어나고 있는 현시점에서 학술적 건축형태계보에 관한 패러다임의 변화를 초래하고 있으며 이에 따른 전시공간에 미치는 영향에 관한 유무의 논증이 요구되어 진다. 따라서 선행되어야 하는 단계로서 비정형 건축형태와 전시공간과의 상관관계를 검증하기 위해 최근 2000년 이후 다양한 박물관 설립 또는 재개관한 사례의 현황분석을 통한 실질적인 비정형 형태의 경향을 파악한다. 이에 전시공간이 관람자의 공간체험에 더욱 효과적인가를 유추하기 위해 비정형건축과 전시공간과의 관계성에 대한 결론을 도출하는데 본 연구의 목적이 있다. 연구방법 및 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 박물관의 비정형건축 형태적 개념 및 건축형태의 분류에 관한 문헌조사와 선행연구의 고찰을 통해 기준을 정립하여 도입하였다. 둘째, 싱가포르, 독일, 네덜란드 등을 직접 방문하여 사례 고찰을 통해 비정형 건축형태와 전시공간의 현황과 특성을 고찰하였다. 이때 Kare Vollers의 비정형 형태기준을 차용하여 분석을 하였다. 셋째, 비정형건축형태와 전시공간과의 관계성을 증명하기 위해 Kare Vollers의 비정형 형태기준과 비정형 전시공간을 중심으로 사례별 크로스 체크하여 결과를 도출하였다. 연구 결과의 내용은 다음과 같다. 첫째, 비정형건축형태의 EX(Extruder)(angle, ortho)와 전시공간 사선형은 유의미한 상관성을 가진다. 이는 싱가포르보다는 네덜란드와 독일에서 92.3% 명확하게 검증되었다. 반면, 전시공간 곡면형은 불명확한 관계성을 보이며 싱가포르 경우 RO(Rotor), FR(Free Shaper), TW(Twister) 등을 통해 곡면형 관계성을 가진다. 둘째, 비정형 건축형태와 전시공간의 사선 및 곡면형이 복합적 형태조합을 가진다. 특히 N-02, G-02는 융합된 형태로써 EX를 기본적 가지며 부분적 다양하게 형태를 함유하여 비정형의 복잡함을 유도하였다. 이와같이 비정형 형태는 다양한 조합으로 무한정의 변형이 가능하며 이를 대응하기 위해 다각도에서의 융합적 접근이 요구된다. 차후 본 연구를 기반으로 박물관의 비정형 건축형태와 전시연출디자인과의 관계성 유무를 논증하고자 한다.

영화 <이다>에 나타난 의미적 맥락의 시각화 (A The Visualization of Semantic Context in the Film )

  • 영화 <이다>(Ida, 2013)는 서사와 인물의 심리적 동기를 모호하게 하고, 선형적 시간성을 파괴하며, 다양한 기법을 통해 디지털 이미지의 조작 가능성을 상기시키는 현대의 실험적 영화라 볼 수 있다. 인간의 주체와 자아인식 변화 과정이 사회적 트라우마와 연결된다는 점에서 다른 국가나 사회의 역사적 맥락을 대비시켜 추론할 수 있다. 영화 <이다>는 화면 밖의 공간, 부재하는 공간, 여백과 프레임 안에 내포된 의미를 중심으로, 보이는 공간의 정보와 화면 밖 공간과의 정보를 나눔으로써 관객으로 하여금 제시되지 않은 정보에 대해서 추론하게 하는 능동적 인지과정을 불러일으키고 있다. 시대적 배경을 자세히 기술하지 않으면서도 역사적 의미를 시각화했고, 초월적 존재인 신과 한계적 존재인 인간 사이의 갈등과 고민의 문제를 인간과 인간의 갈등 구조 안에서 표현하고자 했다. 아울러 상실과 부재의 슬픔을 공간적 미학으로 풀어내고자 시도했으며 인물의 대비와 대조, 빛과 어둠의 대비를 통해 상황의 전개를 나타냈다. 본고에서는 영화 <이다>가 함축하고 있는 개인(인물)의 이야기와 사회, 역사적 배경과 종교적 영역을 아우르는 해석을 시도하고, 의미적 맥락의 시각화를 다루고자 한다. 또한 정체성과 역사적 사건의 재구성, 종교적 가치를 다룬 영화 <이다>의 시퀀스 장면 분석을 통해 그 의미와 특징을 살펴보고, 영화가 추구한 총체적 의미를 구체적으로 분석할 것이다. 이는 영화 <이다>가 내포하고 있는 트라우마의 재현과 해석 차원으로 개인과 지역, 국가적 트라우마를 안고 있는 문제를 다루었다는 측면에서 한국적 상황에 주는 함의를 고려해 볼 수 있다. 나아가 과하게 표현하지 않으면서도 인간과 사회적 성장, 고민을 잔잔하게 다루는 모습을 통해 새로운 영상기술과 독창적 시각화 기법의 영화를 창조하려는 흐름에 또 다른 영감을 주는 연구가 될 것이다.

위성영상의 방사적 특성을 고려한 구름 탐지 방법 개발 (Development of Cloud Detection Method Considering Radiometric Characteristics of Satellite Imagery)

  • 구름은 광학위성을 이용한 국토 관측 및 재난 대응, 변화 탐지 등 지표의 현상을 관측하는데 있어 많은 어려운 문제를 야기한다. 구름의 존재는 영상 처리 단계 뿐만 아니라 최종적으로는 데이터의 품질에 영향을 미치므로 이를 반드시 식별하고 제거하는 과정이 필요하다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 위성영상 내 구름의 분광패턴에 가장 근접한 화소를 탐색 및 추출해 최적의 임계값을 선정하고 임계값을 바탕으로 구름 산출물을 제작하는 일련의 과정을 자동으로 수행하는 새로운 구름 탐지 기법을 개발하고자 하였다. 구름 탐지 기법은 크게 세 단계로 구성된다. 첫 번째 단계에서는 Digital Number (DN) 단위 영상을 대기상층 반사율 단위로 변환하는 과정을 수행한다. 두 번째 단계에서는 대기상층 반사율 영상을 이용하여 Hue-Value-Saturation (HSV) 변환 및 삼각형 임계 처리, 최대우도 분류 등의 전처리를 적용하고 각 영상별로 초기 구름 마스크 생성을 위한 임계값을 결정한다. 세번째 후처리 단계에서는 생성된 초기 구름 마스크에 포함된 노이즈를 제거하고 구름 경계 및 내부를 개선한다. 구름 탐지를 위한 실험 자료로 구름의 공간적, 계절적 분포의 다양성을 보여주는 4~11월 시기에 한반도 지역에서 촬영된 국토위성 L2G 영상을 사용하였다. 제안 방법의 성능을 검증하기 위해 단일 임계화 방법으로 생성된 결과를 비교하였다. 실험 결과, 제안 방법은 기존 방법과 비교하여 전처리 과정을 통해 각 영상의 방사학적 특성을 고려할 수 있어 보다 정확하게 구름을 검출할 수 있었다. 또한, 구름 개체를 제외한 나머지 밝은 물체(판넬식 지붕, 콘크리트 도로, 모래 등)의 영향을 최소화하는 결과를 보여주었다. 제안 방법은 기존 방법 대비 F1-score 기준으로 30% 이상의 개선된 결과를 보여주었으나 눈이 포함된 특정 영상에서 한계점이 있었다.

  • The wall shear stress in the vicinity of end-to end anastomoses under steady flow conditions was measured using a flush-mounted hot-film anemometer(FMHFA) probe. The experimental measurements were in good agreement with numerical results except in flow with low Reynolds numbers. The wall shear stress increased proximal to the anastomosis in flow from the Penrose tubing (simulating an artery) to the PTFE: graft. In flow from the PTFE graft to the Penrose tubing, low wall shear stress was observed distal to the anastomosis. Abnormal distributions of wall shear stress in the vicinity of the anastomosis, resulting from the compliance mismatch between the graft and the host artery, might be an important factor of ANFH formation and the graft failure. The present study suggests a correlation between regions of the low wall shear stress and the development of anastomotic neointimal fibrous hyperplasia(ANPH) in end-to-end anastomoses. 30523 T00401030523 ^x Air pressure decay(APD) rate and ultrafiltration rate(UFR) tests were performed on new and saline rinsed dialyzers as well as those roused in patients several times. C-DAK 4000 (Cordis Dow) and CF IS-11 (Baxter Travenol) reused dialyzers obtained from the dialysis clinic were used in the present study. The new dialyzers exhibited a relatively flat APD, whereas saline rinsed and reused dialyzers showed considerable amount of decay. C-DAH dialyzers had a larger APD(11.70$\pm$1.32mmHg/min)compared to CF dialyzers(4.32$\pm$0.55mmHg/min)(p<0.05). However, there was no observable difference in the UFR between the two dialyzers. Neither APD nor UFR showed any significant increase with an increasing number of reuses for up to more than 20reuses. A substantial number of failures observed in APD(larger than 20mmHe/min)on the reused dialyzers(2 out of 40 CP and S out 26 C-DAK) were attributed to the Possible damage on the fibers. The CF 15-11 HFDs which failed APD test did not show changes in the UFR compared to normal dialyzers indicating that APD is a more sensitive test than UFR test to evaluate the integrity of the fibers. 30527 T00401030527 ^x For quantitative measurement of reflected light from a clinical diagnostic strip, a prototype old reflectance photometer was designed. The strip loader and cassette were made to obtain more accurate reflectance parameters. The strip was illuminated at 45˚c through optical fiber and the intensity of reflected light was determined at rectanguLat angle using a photodiode. The kubelka-munk coefficient and reflection optical density were determined ar four different wavelengths(500, 550, 570 and 610nm) for blood glucose strip. For higher concentration than 300mg/41 about glucose, a saturation state of abforbance was observed at 500, 550 and 570nm. The correlation between glucose concentration and parameters was the best at 610nm. 30535 T00401030535 ^x Radiation-induced fibrosarcoma tumors were grown on the flanks of C3H mice. The mice were divided into two groups. One group was injected with Photofrin II, intravenously (2.5mg/kg body weight). The other group received no Photofrin II. Mice from both groups were irradialed for approximately 15 minutes at 100, 300, or 500 mW/cm2 with the argon (488nm/514.5 nm), dye(628nm) and gold vapor (pulsed 628 nm) laser light. A photosensitizer behaved as an added absorber. Under our experimental conditions, the presence of Photolfrin II increased surface temperature by at least 40% and the temperature rise due to 300 mW/cm2 irradiation exceeded values for hyperthermia. Light and temperature distributions with depth were estimated by a computer model. The model demonstrated the influence of wavelength on the thermal process and proved to be a valuable tool to investigate internal temperature rise. 30536 T00401030536 ^x We investigated the structural geometry of thirty-eight Korean femurs. The purpose of this study is to identify major geometrical differences between Korean femurs 3nd others that we believe belong to Caucasians so that we would be able to get insights into the femoral component design that fits Asians including Koreans. We utilized computerized tomography (CT) images of femurs extracted from cadavers. The CT images were transformed into bitmap data by using a film scanner, and then analyzed by using a commercially available software called Image v.1.0 and a Macintosh IIci computer.The resulting data were compared with already published data. The major results show that the geometry of the Korean femurs is significantly different from that of Caucasians: (1) the anteversion angle and the canal flare index are greater by the amount of approximately 8˚ and 0.5, respectively, (2) the shape of the isthmus cross section is more round, and (3) the distance between the teaser trochanter and the proximal border of the isthmus is shelter by about 15 mm. The results suggested that the femoral component suitable for Asians should be different from the currently-used components designed and manufactured mostly by European or American companies. 30537 T00401030537 ^x It is well known that nonlinear propagation characteristics of the wave in the tissue may give very useful information for the medical diagnoisis. In this paper, a new method to detect nonlinear propagation characteristics of the internal vibration in the tissue for the low frequency mechanical vibration by using bispectral analysis is proposed. In the method, low frequency vibration of f0( = 100Hz) is applied on the surface of the object, and the waveform of the internal vibration x (t) is measured from Doppler frequency modulation of silmultaneously transmitted probing ultrasonic waves. Then, the bispectra of the signal x (t) at the frequencies (f0, f0) and (f0, 2f0) are calculated to estimate the nonlinear propagation characteristics as their magnitude ratio, w here since bispectrum is free from the gaussian additive noise we can get the value with high S/N. Basic experimental system is constructed by using 3.0 MHz probing ultrasonic waves and the several experiments are carried out for some phantoms. To synthesize microspheres for biomedical application, "two stage shot growth method" was developed. The uniformity ratio of synthesized microspheres was always smaller than 1.05. And the surface charge density (or the number of ionizable functional groups) of the microspheres synthesized by "two stage shot growth method" was 6~13 times higher than that of the microspheres synthesized by conventional seeded batch copolymerization. As a previous step for biomedical application, adsorption experiments of bovine albumin on microspheres were carried out under various conditions. The maximum adsorbed amount was obtained in the neighborhood of pH 4.5. Isoelectric point of bovine albumin is pH 5.0, so experimental result shows that it shifted to acid area. Our department has developed an information system for routine hematology using down-sized computer system. We have used an IBM 486 compatible PC with 16MB main memory, 210 MB hard disk drive, 9 RS-232C port and 24 pin dot printer. The operating system and database management system were SCO UNIX and SCO foxbase, respectively. For program development, we used Xbase language provided by SCO foxbase. The C language was used for interface purpose. To make the system use friendly, pull-down menu was used. The system connected to our hospital information system via application program interface (API), so the information related to patient and request details is automatically transmitted to our computer. Our system interfaced with fwd complete blood count analyzers(Sysmex NE-8000 and Coulter STKS) for unidirectional data tansmission from analyzer to computer. The authors suggests that this system based on down-sized computer could provide a progressive approach to total LIS based on local area network, and the implemented system could serve as a model for other hospital's LIS for routine hematology. 30609 T00401030609 ^x To develop an artificial bone substitute that is gradually degraded and replaced by the regenerated natural bone, the authors designed a composite that is consisted of calcium phosphate and collagen. To use as the structural matrix of the composite, collagen was purified from human umbilical cord. The obtained collagen was treated by pepsin to remove telopeptides, and finally, the immune-free atelocollagen was produced: The cross linked atelocollagen was highly resistant to the collagenase induced collagenolysis. We propose a simple adaptive algorithm to increase capability of noise cancelation in QRS complex detection with two stage adaptive filter. At the first stage, background noise is removed and at the next stage, only spectrum of QRS complex components is passed. Two adaptive filters can afford to keep track of the changes of both noise and QRS complex.   • The wall shear stress in the vicinity of end-to end anastomoses under steady flow conditions was measured using a flush-mounted hot-film anemometer(FMHFA) probe. The experimental measurements were in good agreement with numerical results except in flow with low Reynolds numbers. The wall shear stress increased proximal to the anastomosis in flow from the Penrose tubing (simulating an artery) to the PTFE: graft. In flow from the PTFE graft to the Penrose tubing, low wall shear stress was observed distal to the anastomosis. Abnormal distributions of wall shear stress in the vicinity of the anastomosis, resulting from the compliance mismatch between the graft and the host artery, might be an important factor of ANFH formation and the graft failure. The present study suggests a correlation between regions of the low wall shear stress and the development of anastomotic neointimal fibrous hyperplasia(ANPH) in end-to-end anastomoses. 30523 T00401030523 ^x Air pressure decay(APD) rate and ultrafiltration rate(UFR) tests were performed on new and saline rinsed dialyzers as well as those roused in patients several times. C-DAK 4000 (Cordis Dow) and CF IS-11 (Baxter Travenol) reused dialyzers obtained from the dialysis clinic were used in the present study. The new dialyzers exhibited a relatively flat APD, whereas saline rinsed and reused dialyzers showed considerable amount of decay. C-DAH dialyzers had a larger APD(11.70${\pm}$1.32mmHg/min)compared to CF dialyzers(4.32${\pm}$0.55mmHg/min)(p<0.05). However, there was no observable difference in the UFR between the two dialyzers. Neither APD nor UFR showed any significant increase with an increasing number of reuses for up to more than 20reuses. A substantial number of failures observed in APD(larger than 20mmHe/min)on the reused dialyzers(2 out of 40 CP and S out 26 C-DAK) were attributed to the Possible damage on the fibers. The CT images were transformed into bitmap data by using a film scanner, and then analyzed by using a commercially available software called Image v.1.0 and a Macintosh IIci computer.The resulting data were compared with already published data. The major results show that the geometry of the Korean femurs is significantly different from that of Caucasians: (1) the anteversion angle and the canal flare index are greater by the amount of approximately 8˚ and 0.5, respectively, (2) the shape of the isthmus cross section is more round, and (3) the distance between the teaser trochanter and the proximal border of the isthmus is shelter by about 15 mm. Then, the bispectra of the signal x (t) at the frequencies (f0, f0) and (f0, 2f0) are calculated to estimate the nonlinear propagation characteristics as their magnitude ratio, w here since bispectrum is free from the gaussian additive noise we can get the value with high S/N. The system connected to our hospital information system via application program interface (API), so the information related to patient and request details is automatically transmitted to our computer. Our system interfaced with fwd complete blood count analyzers(Sysmex NE-8000 and Coulter STKS) for unidirectional data tansmission from analyzer to computer.
