Purpose: The important things in space plan of a screening center are improving the spatial awareness by space systemization and minimizing the examination time for customers, and reducing the required time of screening work and maximizing the capacity for the screening center. Therefore, we tried to solve the problem of improving spatial awareness and reducing the examination time by using the pedestrian based discrete event simulation at the minimum cost. Methods: We have analyzed the drawbacks and the supplement points by comparing the floor plan at the time of opening and the current floor plan. Based on the analysis, we propose an improved plan which changes the location of the examination rooms and the number of services, and we also verify the improved plan based on simulation analyses. Results: 1) Through the analyses, we derived the drawbacks of the floor plan at the time of opening, and we realized that the current floor plan reflects the drawbacks. 2) The major reasons of the long examination time are the human traffic jam and the occurrence of queues due to unreasonable allocation of services. 3) Through the discrete event simulation analyses, it was possible to specify the place of the queues manually so as to use the given space fairly. 4) Using the discrete event simulation, it was possible to reduce the examination time and to improve the spatial awareness effectively at the minimum cost. Implications: Although the proposed simulation methodology in this paper is an analysis of the existing screening center, we expect that the proposed methodology will be used to develop a more efficient architectural design process by pre-applying the method to the course of designing a screening center and finding the suitability of the proposed method with the matched number of services.

In this article, we describe a simple yet effective method for insertion of observational datasets in a mesoscale atmospheric model used in one-dimensional configuration through Nudging. To demonstrate the effectiveness of this technique, vertical profiles of meteorological parameters obtained from GLASS Sonde launches from a tiny island of Kaashidhoo in the Republic of Maldives are injected in a mesoscale atmospheric model - Advanced Regional Prediction System (ARPS), and model simulated parameters are compared with the available observational datasets. Analysis of one-time nudging in the model simulations over Kaashidhoo show that incorporation of this technique reasonably improves the model simulations within a time domain of +6 to +12 Hrs, while its impact on +18 Hrs simulations and beyond becomes literally null.
The cause of optical nonlinearity induced in thermally poled silica glass is believed to be the space charge polarization. Since the second order optical nonlinearity (electro-optic effect) can be used in optical switches the optical nonlinearity in silica glass has drawn a large attention. Space charge polarization occurs when an ionic conducting material is subjected to dc electric field by the blocking electrode. Thermal poling performed to induce the optical nonlinearity in silica glass is basically identical to the process generating space charge polarization. As a first step to understand the mechanism of space charge polarization in silica glass hence the induced optical nonlinearity the absorption currents as functions of time were measured for various types of silica glasses and analyzed by the theory of space charge polarization. It was found that the electrical relaxation exhibited a step by the space charge polarization in the relatively long time range and dielectric loss peak showed a maximum at a specific temperature which is depending on type of silica glass. It was turned out that this relaxation might be a cause of nonlinearity in electrical conductivity of silica glass.
The ionosphere displays variations on a wide variety of time-scales, ranging from few hours to days and up to solar cycles and even more. In this paper, we examine the ionospheric F2-layer variability in mid latitude by analyzing the foF2 and hmF2 from the Anyang ionosonde. Especially, we investigate how ionospheric semi-annual and seasonal anomalies vary with local time and solar activity. In addition to the characterization of the ionospheric semi-annual an seasonal anomalies, our study extends to the investigation of the relationship between ionospheric variability and geomagnetic activity. Finally we also discuss the coupling between ionospheric F2-layer variability and thermospheric neutral composition.
Korea Astnonomy and Space Science Institute (KASI) operates two solar radio observing facilities, the Korean station of the e-CALLISTO and the Korean Solar Radio Burst Locator (KSRBL). The e-CALLISTO station had suffered from tracking problem for past several years. Since 2011, KASI has developed a new tracking system, and recently the antenna has regained the its sun-tracking capability and full day-time coverage. The KSRBL also suffered from the control computer breakdown last year. After one year of operational gap, the KSRBL restored its normal daily observation. We also expanded the data server storage capacity, to store the full original data of 25 ms integration time and 0.25 MHz frequency resolution, amounting to about 80 GB per day.
This study proposes the analysis method of time series ultrasonic signal using the chaotic feature extraction for degradation extent evaluation. Features extracted from time series data using the chaotic time series signal analyze quantitatively degradation extent. For this purpose, analysis objective in this study is fractal dimension, lyapunov exponent, strange attractor on hyperspace. The lyapunov exponent is a measure of the rate at which nearby trajectories in phase space diverge. Chaotic trajectories have at least one positive lyapunov exponent. The fractal dimension appears as a metric space such as the phase space trajectory of a dynamical system. In experiment, fractal correlation) dimensions, lyapunov exponents, energy variation showed values of 2.217∼2.411, 0.097∼ 0.146, 1.601∼1.476 voltage according to degardation extent. The proposed chaotic feature extraction in this study can enhances precision ate of degradation extent evaluation from degradation extent results of the degraded materials (SA508 CL.3)
In multipath fading channel, diversity is essential to mitigate the impairments. In this paper, we have proposed the angle diversity scheme called ATTD(Angle Time Transmit Diversity) instead of Alamouti's STTD(Space Time Transmit Diversity) and have analyzed the performance of the proposed scheme when signal powers caused by the transmission to different angles are different. Based on it, we have measured the wireless vector-channel in the urban area, which has lots of high-story buildings, using the data collected from the 8 by 4 smart array antenna system that we made. According to the measured data, the received signals from different angles have different signal powers. Our performance analysis results show that the proposed scheme has better performance than the space diversity scheme when the received path signal power is at least -7dB compare to the strongest path signal power.
This paper presents a way to maximize transmission efficiency and reception ability through transmission diversity technology, which can be adapted to wireless multimedia OFDM system. The presented method is a comparative analysis between a case where parameter $\alpha$for time average is 0.3, 1 with consideration of channel presumption with two types of rms delayed proliferation, which is 50nsec, 150nsec, for the performance analysis of STTC(Space-Time Trellis Code) using time-space ciphering method appropriate for MIMO channel, and performance in the case where presumed channel value from long training column section is applied to according frame in a single frame. The result showed that BER brought SNR improvement of 1.0dB in 10-3 when $\alpha$ was 0.3 than using only the long training column, and showed increase of general performance improvement for the sake of time average rather than the case without.

One objective in developing the next generation of wireless communication systems is to increase data rates and reliability. A promising way to achieve this is to combine multiple-input and multiple-output signal processing with a space-time coding scheme, which offers higher coding and diversity gains and improves the spectrum efficiency and reliability of a wireless communication system. It is noted, however, that time delay differences and phase differences among different channels increase symbol interference and degrade system performance. In this letter, we investigate phase differences and their effects on multiple-input and multiple-output systems, and propose a compensation algorithm for the Rayleigh fading model to minimize their effects.
