  • In this paper we shall explicitly calculate the formula of the algebraic presentation of an embedding of the Teichmiiller space ${\Im}(M)$ into the Goldman space g(M). From this algebraic presentation, we shall show that the Goldman's length parameter on g(M) is an isometric extension of the Fenchel-Nielsen's length parameter on ${\Im}(M)$.

  • Various features of the existing perturbations in the Earth's spin rotation are investigated for the recent and most reliable data by spectral analysis, filtering, and comparison with idealized model. First, theory of Earth's spin rotational perturbation is briefly re-derived in the Earth-fixed coordinate frame. By spectral windowings, different periodic components of the length of day perturbation are separated, and their characters and excitations are discussed. Different periodic components of polar motion are acquired similarly and described with further discussion of their excitations. Causes of the long time trends of both the length of day and polar motion are discussed. Three possible causes are considered for the newly discovered 490-day period component in the polar motion.

  • The purpose of this study was to suggest the proper ease of total crotch length concerning both appearance and comfort. The research processes as follows. 1) For the purpose of obtaining the necessary ease of slacks in body movement, experimental slacks of no ease of total crotch length were made. Three college girls putting on these experimental slacks were examined on their back middle waist lines using cross-cut method. 2) Experimental slacks for suggesting the proper ease consist of 7 types; slacks CO, Wl, W3, W5, W7, C3, C5. The sensory evaluation for appearance and comfort was applied to evaluate the 7 slacks. The results can be summarized as follows. 1. As the leg-movement angle increased, the vertical space increased and the horizontal space decreased. There was negative relationship between vertical and horizontal space. And as the leg.movement angle increased, the area of space increased. The shapes of space showed the amounts of space and the direction of force by the movements. 2. The appearances of slacks C3, W3, C5 were better than the other slacks. The eases of the crotch were better than those of the waist line in appearance. And slakcs W7 was better than any other , ;lacks in comfort. When the amount of each part of eases was same, the comfort in eases of crotch was not as good as that of waist line. 3. In slacks, the proper ease of total crotch length was 3% and 5% of total crotch length.

  • The purpose of this study was to provide basic data for a more functional torso's pattern by analyzing multidimensional anthropometric measurements and the wearing condition. For the functional torso's pattern drafting, the fitness state of basic torso's patterns(4 types) was compared and evaluated from the cross-sectioned overlap maps by $moir{\acute{e}}$ topography. The results were as follows: 1. According to the measurements of four patterns by using the one-dimensional measurement, the amount of ease in girth item for pattern A was the smallest. The ease of clothes was affected by the position of dart, the amount of dart, and the drafting method. 2. As the results of wearing evaluation by $moir{\acute{e}}$ topography method, pattern B had the largest space length for hip part, pattern A, C and D had the largest space length for bust part. Also, in the all measurement items, pattern A had the smallest amount of ease. The space length for bust and waist part of pattern B was smaller than pattern D, but, for abdomen and hip part of pattern B was larger than pattern D. The space length of pattern C was revealed intermediate for all measurement part. 3. The significant difference of space length of each pattern was shown in all parts except bust part(p<.05). The amount of space was affected by the amount of dart, the characteristics of the somatotype, and the drafting method.

  • This paper deals with numerical efficiency of nonlinear solution technique for space trusses. It will propose the combined Arc-length method to trace structural behavior after reaching buckling load as opposed to the current Arch-length method. The combined Arc-length method uses the current stiffness parameter as a control variable. It uses Secant-Newton method in stable path and applies Arc-length method in unstable path. To evaluate efficiency of solution technique, the accuracy of solution, convergence, and computing time concerning illustrative numerical examples are compared with the current Arc-length method. It show that the combined Arc-length method, as proposed in this paper, is superior to the current Arc-length method in numerical nonlinear analysis.

  • We study torsion phenomena in the integral cohomology of finite if-spaces X through the Eilenberg-Moore spectral sequence converging to H*($\Omega$X; Z$_{p}$). We also investigate how the difference between the Z$_{p}$-filtration length f$_{p}$(X) and the Z$_{p}$-cup length c$_{p}$(X) on a simply connected finite H-space X is reflected in the Eilenberg-Moore spectral sequence converging to H*($\Omega$X;Z$_{p}$). Finally we get the following result: Let p be an odd prime and X an n-connected finite H-space with dim QH* (X;Z$_{p}$) $\leq$ m. Then H*(X;Z) is p-torsion free if (equation omitted).tion omitted).

  • The tool overhang length affects tool deflection and chatter that should be reduced for machined surface quality, productivity and long tool lift. The shortest tool setting algorithm that uses a safe space is proposed and applied with simulation software in NC machining. The safe space in the coordinate fixed in the tool is computed by the virtual machining system that simulates NC machining by stock model, tool model and NC code. The optimal tool assembly that has largest diameter and shortest length is possible using the safe space. This algorithm has been applied over fifty companies for safe and rigid tool setting. The collision accident between holder and stock was reduced from 3 to 0 a year and the productivity was incensed about 15% by using faster feed rate acceptable for shorten tool length.

  • The Ring Laser Gyroscope makes use of the Sagnac effect within a resonant ring cavity of a He-Ne laser and has more accuracy than the other gyros. The space launch vehicle use require the high accuracy Gyro to control and determine the altitude to deliver the satellite in the space. In this paper, The theory of the Path Length Control is explained. The electrical design of Path Length Controller is described. The Design for Path Length Controller is composed of the demodulator, integrator, phase shifter, high voltage amplifier. We apply the circuit to 28cm square ring laser gyro and get the test results.

  • This research is an illustrative research to verify the thermo environmental change created after introduction of indoor pond through abridged model test and simulation analysis. Especially, temperature and comfort level are analyzed by adjusting factors like size of water space, distance length, and location. Summary of the research is as follows. First, the most effective size of water space is 7% of the indoor size, from southern side. Temperature reduction effect is about $1.6^{\circ}C$(5.5%), and for the comfort level, it is found that pmv index increases 8%. Second, based on the simulation of distance length with the sphere, it is more effective as it is close to the surface. If distance length is more than 0.5m, there is no effect on reduction of temperature and comfort level of indoor environment. Lastly, for the analysis by location of the introduced water space, simulation is undertaken by dividing the water space (14% of the indoor size) with front, side, rear and center types. Temperature reduction effect is found to be : front type ($-1.53^{\circ}C$), side type ($-0.82^{\circ}C$), rear type ($-0.44^{\circ}C$), center type ($-0.28^{\circ}C$), respectively. The indoor environment change data by introduction of water space, found in this research, is at initial phase, but it is deemed to be a basic data to refer when planning actual water space.

  • In this study, the observational arc-length effect on orbit determination (OD) for the Korea Pathfinder Lunar Orbiter (KPLO) in the Earth-Moon Transfer phase was investigated. For the OD, we employed a sequential estimation using the extended Kalman filter and a fixed-point smoother. The mission periods, comprised between the perigee maneuvers (PM) and the lunar orbit insertion (LOI) maneuver in a 3.5 phasing loop of the KPLO, was the primary target. The total period was divided into three phases: launch-PM1, PM1-PM3, and PM3-LOI. The Doppler and range data obtained from three tracking stations [included in the deep space network (DSN) and Korea Deep Space Antenna (KDSA)] were utilized for the OD. Six arc-length cases (24 hrs, 48 hrs, 60 hrs, 3 days, 4 days, and 5 days) were considered for the arc-length effect investigation. In order to evaluate the OD accuracy, we analyzed the position uncertainties, the precision of orbit overlaps, and the position differences between true and estimated trajectories. The maximum performance of 3-day OD approach was observed in the case of stable flight dynamics operations and robust navigation capability. This study provides a guideline for the flight dynamics operations of the KPLO in the trans-lunar phase.
