경계요소 해석과 진동 실험을 이용한 단순 평판의 방사 음향 예측 (Estimation of sound radiation for a flat plate by using BEM and vibration experiment)

  • BEA(Boundary Element Analysis) based on Kirchhoff-Helmholtz integral equation is widely used in the prediction of sound radiation problems of vibrating structures. Accurate estimation of sound pressure distribution by BEA can be [possible if and only if dynamic behavior of the relating structure was described correctly. Another plausible method of sound radiation phenomena could be the NAH(Nearfield Acoustic Holography) method. NAH also based on the identical governing equation with BEA could be one of the best acoustic imaging schemes but it has disadvantages of the complexity of measurement and of the need of large amount of measuring points. In this paper, modal expansion method is presented for taking accurate dynamic data of the structures efficiently. This method makes use of vibration principle an arbitrary dynamic behavior of the structure is described by the summation of that structures mode shapes which can be calculated by FEA easily and accurately. Sound pressure field from a vibration flat plate is calculated using the combination of vibration signal on that flat plate from experiment, and of the natural mode shapes form FEA. When sound pressure field from vibration signal is calculated the importance of the phase information was emphasized.

  • 실내 소음의 정확한 측정은 환경소음 관리상에 요구되어 지는 것이나 측정계 자체의 잡음으로 인하여 소음원이 가지는 원래의 잡음이 항상 영향을 받게되는 문제가 있다. 본 연구에서는 새로운 소음레벨 측정기술로서 크로스 스펙트럼법을 사용하여 측정된 신호로부터 측정계가 가지는 잡음을 효과적으로 제거하는 방법을 제안하였다. 두 개의 측정용 마이크로폰으로부터 받아들인 신호는 각각의 전치 증폭기를 통하여 A/D 변환기에 의해 디지털 신호화하여 크로스 스펙트럼을 이 디지털화 된 신호로부터 계산하고 측정계가 가지는 잡음과 소음 원의 잡음은 서로 무상관이므로 우리가 원하는 정확한 소음레벨을 측정할 수 있는 것이다. 제안된 기술의 성과는 염가의 상용 마이크로폰으로도 사용할 수 있었기 때문에 실험적으로 그 유효성과 경제성이 입증되었다.

An advertisement method using inaudible sound of speaker

  • Recently, there are serviced user customized advertisement of various type using smart device. Representative services are advertisement service using light of smart TV screen or audible sound of smart TV to transmit advertisement information. However, those services have to do a specific action of smart device user for advertisement information or need audible audio information of TV contents. To overcome those weakness, therefore, we propose an advertisement method using inaudible sound of speaker based on smart device. This method supports the transfer of advertising content to the smart device user with no additional action or TV audio signal required to access that content. The proposed method used two high frequencies among 18kHz ~ 22kHz of audible frequency range which smart TV can send out. And it generates those frequencies synthesized with audio of TV contents as trigger signal which can send advertisements to smart device. Next, smart device analysis the trigger signal and request advertisement contents related to the signal to server. After then, smart device can show the downloaded contents to user. Because the proposed method uses the high frequencies of sound signals via the inner speaker of the smart device, its main advantage is that it does not affect the audio signal of TV content. To evaluate the efficacy of the proposed method, we developed an application to implement it and subsequently carried out an advertisement transmission experiment. The success rate of the transmission experiment was approximately 97%. Based on this result, we believe the proposed method will be a useful technique in introducing a customized user advertising service.

  • In this paper, we present a method which can minimize distortion from desired signal in thoracic sound signal processing. We firstly chose the proper wavelet mother function to reduce noise components. Secondly, we chose a clean thoracic sound, then added Gaussian noise and 3 step(10, 15, 20db) uniform noise to it. Finally, the various wavelet functions are applied for noise cancellation. To evaluate the efficiency of this study, we computed SNR and RSE value. Then we found the optimal mother wavelet function for thoracic sound.

휴모노이드 로봇을 위한 시청각 정보 기반 음원 정위 시스템 구현 (Implementation of Sound Source Localization Based on Audio-visual Information for Humanoid Robots)

  • This paper presents an implementation of real-time speaker localization using audio-visual information. Four channels of microphone signals are processed to detect vertical as well as horizontal speaker positions. At first short-time average magnitude difference function(AMDF) signals are used to determine whether the microphone signals are human voices or not. And then the orientation and distance information of the sound sources can be obtained through interaural time difference. Finally visual information by a camera helps get finer tuning of the angles to speaker. Experimental results of the real-time localization system show that the performance improves to 99.6% compared to the rate of 88.8% when only the audio information is used.

Lung Sound Classification Using Hjorth Descriptor Measurement on Wavelet Sub-bands

  • Signal complexity is one point of view to analyze the biological signal. It arises as a result of the physiological signal produced by biological systems. Signal complexity can be used as a method in extracting the feature for a biological signal to differentiate a pathological signal from a normal signal. In this research, Hjorth descriptors, one of the signal complexity measurement techniques, were measured on signal sub-band as the features for lung sounds classification. Lung sound signal was decomposed using two wavelet analyses: discrete wavelet transform (DWT) and wavelet packet decomposition (WPD). Meanwhile, multi-layer perceptron and N-fold cross-validation were used in the classification stage. Using DWT, the highest accuracy was obtained at 97.98%, while using WPD, the highest one was found at 98.99%. This result was found better than the multi-scale Hjorth descriptor as in previous studies.

  • Shaped Sound Focusing is defined as the generation of acoustically bright shape in space using multiple sources. The acoustically bright shape is a spatially focused region with relatively high acoustic potential energy level. In view of the energy transfer, acoustical focusing is essential because acoustic energy is very small to use other type of energy. Practically, focused sound shape control not a point is meaningful because there are so many needs to enlarge the focal region especially in clinical uses and others. If focused sound shape can be controlled, it offers various kinds of solutions for clinical uses and others because a regional focusing is essentially needed to reduce a treatment time and enhance the performance of transducers. For making the shaped-sound field, control variables, such as a number of sources, excitation frequency, source positioning, etc., should be taken according to geometrical sound shape. To verify these relations between them, wavenumber domain matching method is suggested because wavenumber spectrum can provide the information of control variables of sources. In this paper, the procedures of shaped sound focusing using wavenumber domain matching and relations between control variables and geometrical sound shape are covered in case of an acoustical ring.

소리/압력센서를 이용한 전자식도청진기 (An Improved Electronic Esophageal Stethoscope using Sound and Pressure Sensors)

  • Esophageal stethoscope is used for monitoring the heart sounds and breath sounds of patients during surgery under a general anesthesia. Recently, an electronic esophageal stethoscope (EES)[1] has been developed for the purpose of real-time monitoring these information visually. This system uses only a microphone as the sound sensor. A drawback of the EES system is that it may be difficult to distinguish the first sound ($S_1$) and the second sound ($S_2$) of heart, because their periods are irregular depending on patients. In this paper, we propose an improved EES system in which the infrasound is measured by adding a pressure sensor as well as a sound sensor. We investigate some correlations between the infrasound and characteristics of the heart sound. The proposed system has been tested on 15 patients. The results show that the new system is capable of detecting the first sound more reliably and easily determining the heart rate and breathing period.

  • Human's vision is mostly confined to the area in the front and we, humans heavily depend on the sense of hearing to gather information in areas out of our sight. Thus, the virtual reality system consisting of the 3D sound effect gives the user a much better sense of reality than the system without the sound effect. Virtual 3D sound technology has mainly been researched with binaural system. The conventional binaural sound systems reproduce the desired sound at two arbitrary points using two channels in 3-D space. Head movement of listener might be change the nominal acoustic transfer function and deteriorate the performance of 3D sound system based on loudspeakers that needs a crosstalk canceller. In this paper, low kinds of sensitivity functions of sphere HRTF are derived to investigate the effect of head movement on HRTF in 3D sound system. Changes of HRTF caused by rotational and translational motion of head are obtained as we calculate the derivatives of HRTF with respect to angle and distance.

친환경 요소로서의 경관과 그에 어울리는 소리의 선택 (The Selection of the Scenery and Sound as the Environmental Friendly Elements)

  • In this research, the test how the evaluation of the spacial image influenced by the environmental friendly elements included in the visual information, and how the selection of the sound changed depending on the characteristics of spacial image were carried out by the 40 subjects. Vast tracts of green land and the waterfront were highly preferred and impressive than the other spaces. The green music, signal with water sound and bird chirping sound were highly scored. In the frequency characteristics of the factors, the first factor was artificial sound (high at the low frequency band), the second was natural sound(uniform at all frequency band) and the third was water sound (high at the middle and high frequency band over 500 Hz) . This shows that the proposal of the sound which has the frequency characteristics fit to the spacial image should be selected for the soundscape of the target space.
