  • Through a consideration of the contralateral collateral needling(繆刺) from "Neijing", the conclusions are as follows. The contralateral collateral needing is defined as a disordered state, and also as the pricking bloodletting method. Unlike the seasonal deficiency pathogen(虛邪), which are affected by the four seasons, the subject of the contralateral collateral needling is the extra pathogen(奇邪), which is the cause of the extra disease(奇病), therefore the treatment should be different from the general. The contralateral collateral needling is generally used when a pain is generated from the veins(絡) by an external pathogen(邪). However, it can be used as the treatment for an emotional disorder, such as flight or sorrow, or a body constituent(身形) disorder caused by internal parts of the five viscera. Although the contralateral collateral needling(繆刺) and the contralateral meridian needling(巨刺) share the left and right cross treatment(右取左, 左取右) in common, but they are different in every aspect, as the causes, transmutation, location, and feature of disease, relation of qi and blood, and location and method of needling(刺鍼). The medical procedure of the contralateral collateral needling is collateral needling(刺絡) the parts of blood collaterals(血絡) or bruising(痏) well points(井穴) of the end of the both sides of limbs, and using the left and right cross treatment when the former methods are not making any progress. The symptoms of contralateral collateral needling are head, chest, and abdomen pains, and they are treated at the end of the limbs. The bloodletting method(刺絡法), extracting a little amount of blood at well points or blood collaterals, or the collateral vessel pricking therapy(瀉血法), extracting a lot of blood by using cupping(附缸), for example, are contemporary successions of the collateral needling(絡刺), the leopard-spot needling(豹文刺), and the contralateral collateral needling.

  • 1. Objectives: This research was proposed to find out the pathology of Soyangin in Sasang Constitutional Medicine(SCM). 2. Methods: The related contents of the pathology of Soyangin were selected in Je-Ma Lee's literatures such as "Dongmu-YuGo(東武遺稿)"(DYG), "Donguisusebowon-SaSangchobongyun(東醫壽世保元四象草本卷)"(DSS), "Donguisusebowon-GabObon(東醫壽世保元甲午本)"(DGO), "Donguisusebowon-ShinChukbon(東醫壽世保元辛丑本)"(DSC), and the research was written in order to find out the physiology and pathology of Soyangin in SCM. 3. Results and Conclusions: The chronical change of pathologic concept in Soyangin diseases as follows : Pathology in Soyangin diseases was much Hot Qi(熱氣), and more ascending Qi, less descending Qi in DYG, DSS. In "Discourse on the viscera and bowels" of DGO and DSC, Soyangin has a circulation of Water-Food Hot Qi of Spleen Group(脾黨) and Water-Food Cold Qi of Kidney Group(腎黨). Exterior Disease(表病) was the injury of Exterior-Qi such as mouth-hip Qi(口膀胱氣) by Anger-Nature-Qi(怒性氣), and Interior Disease(裏病) was the injury of Interior-Qi such as kidney-large intestine Qi(腎大腸氣) by Sorrow-Emotion-Qi(哀情氣). All diseases of Soyangin are caused by insufficient Cool Yin Qi(陰淸之氣) in Kidney Group(腎黨), so the pathology of Soyangin was focused on Requisite energy(保命之主) and each small viscera and bowels(偏小之臟). In this viewpoint, the schema of Soyangin diseases such as Soyangsangpoong-syndrome(少陽傷風證), Kyulhyung-syndrome(結胸證), Mangeum-syndrome(亡陰證), Hyungkyukyeol-syndrome(胸膈熱證), Sogal-syndrome(消渴證) and Eumhuoyeol-syndrome(陰虛午熱證) were designed to explain the mechanism of each syndrome.

  • Although having only become a unified nation in latter 19th century, Germany saw a movement centered on intellectuals to find culture via mental revolution after experiencing much confusion amidst rapid urbanization and materialism. Having expressed as they are such psychological states as anger, sorrow, repression, etc., which arise in reality, by remaining faithful to instinctive sensibility, the form naturally becomes distorted or exaggerated and continues on the tradition of romanticism of a powerful, dark, and introverted atmosphere. Having been discontinued after being branded as 'decadent art' by the Nazis of Fascism, expressionist art has returned in latter 20th century mainly centered on Germany, and this merits our attention. While neo expressionists actively use various objets and media, they metaphorically express hope about Germany's culture and society by again placing on the screen figures, myths, and symbols using rough brush touch, rich colors, etc., which past expressionists enjoyed using to represent the inner world of humans. As such, by examining expressionism, which can be seen as the origin of neo expressionism, we will discover the context in which these people conform to Germany's traditional romanticism and how they inherited and developed it.

  • In recent years, the field of synthesizing voice has been developed rapidly, and the technologies such as reading aloud an email or sound guidance of a car navigation system are used in various scenes of our life. The sound quality is monotonous like reading news. It is preferable for a text such as a novel to be read by the voice that expresses emotions wealthily. Therefore, we have been trying to develop a system reading aloud novels automatically that are expressed clear emotions comparatively such as juvenile literature. At first it is necessary to identify emotions expressed in a sentence in texts in order to make a computer read texts with an emotionally expressive voice. A method on the basis of the meaning interpretation that utilized artificial intelligence technology for a method to specify emotions of texts is thought, but it is very difficult with the current technology. Therefore, we propose a method to determine only emotion every sentence in a novel by a simpler way. This method determines the emotion of a sentence according to an emotion that words such as a verb in a Japanese verb sentence, and an adjective and an adverb in a adjective sentence, have. The emotional characteristics that these words have are prepared beforehand as a emotional words dictionary by us. The emotions used here are seven types: "joy," "sorrow," "anger," "surprise," "terror," "aversion" or "neutral."

  • Fragrance(aroma) have many effects on body. Recently, aromatherapy was used to treat dementia, atopicdermatitis, alopecia areata, perineal disease, lymphatichydrops, and articularrheumatism. And people are interested in physical and mental effects of aroma, especially in mental. People empirically have been known the effects of aroma on soul and used aroma in life from long ago. They have had a meditation and had a sacrificial rites burning incense. Scholars also burned incense when reading books or tasting tea. Until now, there is no physiological study about recognition process and effects of aroma on body, but only many clinical studies using aromatherapy. Fragrance(aroma) is different from smell and good flavors of herbs. And it goes through nose and has effects on body in harmony on So-mun(素問). Also flavors of herbs are spreaded ki of herbs and have many effects on body. Aroma coming through the nose is recognized by co-operation of five-viscera(五臟), especially heart and lung. The nose and pectoral qi(宗氣) are related with lung. The lung opens into the nose, reflect its physiological and pathological conditions. Pectoral qi(宗氣) is the combination of the essential qi derived from food with the air inhaled, stored in the chest, and serving as the dynamic force of blood circulation, respiration, voice, and bodily movements. Because of the heart-spirit(心神), Heart is the organ can recognize the aroma, although the nose is the first organ of receiving aroma. • Purpose: The purpose of this study was to understand and describe the illness experience of married Korean women with epilepsy. Methods: Data were collected during 2015~2016 through individual in-depth interviews with 12 married women with epilepsy. Verbatim transcripts were analyzed using Giorgi's phenomenological analysis to uncover the meaning of the illness experience of the participants. Results: The study results showed that the illness experience of married Korean women with epilepsy was clustered into a specific description of situated structure and a general description of situated structure. Six themes from 20 meaning units were identified: 1) Undermined self-esteem with stigma of being epileptic; 2) Limited social interaction; 3) Suffering sorrow as a 'disqualified being'; 4) Shuttling back and forth across the boundary between healthy and epileptic; 5) Desperate struggle to meet the expectation of given role; 6) Self-empowering through self-restriction and realization. Conclusion: The findings from this study show that both the enacted and felt stigma of epilepsy impact on the life of married Korean women with epilepsy. Although the participants face social and interpersonal restriction and prejudices, they try their best to fulfill their role rather than to be cared for as patients. As the stigma and hardships of the participants are related to lack of knowledge, health professionals should focus not just on clinical intervention but also on providing targeted educational programs and counseling for these women to dispel the stigma of the disease and to increase their quality of life.

  • 1. Objectives The purpose of this study is to find the kinds & meaninings of Qi in Lee Je-Ma's writings. 2. Methods We analyzed Lee Je-Ma's writings which contain the related contents of Qi's kinds & meanings 3. Results and Conclusions 1) There are distinctive Qi features of $sorrow{\cdot}anger{\cdot}joy{\cdot}pleasure$(哀怒僖樂) which are different from one of seven mode emotions(七情) in ${\ulcorner}$Gyukchigo(格致藁)${\lrcorner}$. 2) When $Water{\cdot}grain's$ Qi(臟氣) is the base of the human's Qi, $Nature{\cdot}emotion's$ Qi(性${\cdot}$情氣) is managing. And $Lung{\cdot}Spleen{\cdot}Liver{\cdot}Kidneys's$ Qi(肺脾肝腎氣) is the representative concept resulted by the complex operation of $Water{\cdot}grain's$ Qi(水穀之氣) and $Nature{\cdot}emotion's$ Qi. Each Qi stands for its protensity as follows ; Lung's Qi for extrorse propensity of Yang(Z), Spleen's Qi for upward propensity of Yang(陽), Liver's Qi for introrse propensity of Eum(陰), Kidneys's Qi for downward propensity of Eum(陰). 3) Jang's Qi is more important than medicine's Qi and medicine's Qi has a limitation about recovering jang's Qi. So that it is very important to take care of one's mind. 4) Controling mind Qi is controling Nature & emotion's Qi. Thus controling mind Qi si the best plan for jang's Qi and controling with medicine's Qi is the next policy. 5) Qi influences all aspect of personality, disease, application of medicines and ordinary symptoms. So that Qi is the kernel of the Sasang Constitutional Medicine.
