  • Crystals of six new Bacillus thuringiensis serovarieties [coreanensis (H25), konkukian (H34), leesis (H33), seoulensis (H35), sooncheon (H41), and yosoo (HI8a18c)] with different H-antigens, which are toxic to Bombyx mori and/or mosquito larvae, were serologically quite distinct from each other.

  • Six new serovarieties of B. thuringiensis carrying specific H-antigen have minor differences in biochemical characteristics and morphological characteristics of crystals, which are commonly resistant against four antibiotics. The B. thuringiensis serovar. coreanensis is nontoxic to silkworm larvae, but it is moderately toxic against the Culex pipiens larvae. The B. thuringiensis serovar. konkukian and leesis are nontoxic against mosquitos larvae, but are toxic against silkworm larvae. The B. thuringiensis serovar. seoulensis, sooncheon, and yosoo are highly toxic to B. mori larvae and moderately toxic to C. pipiens larvae. The six serovarieties harbor different plasmid DNA patterns. A 102-kDa protein is a major crystal protein in the four serovarieties and a 86-kDa protein is in one serovariety.

  • A survey was performed in order to determine the infection status of the metacercariae of heterophyid fluke in two goby species, Boleophthalmus pectinirostris and Scartelaos sp., collected from Gangjin-gun, and Shinangun, Sooncheon-shi, Jeollanam-do, Republic of Korea. A total of three metacercariae of Heterophyopsis continua was found in only one B. pectinirostris $(10.0\%)$ from Gangjin-gun. Heterophyes nocens metacercariae were detected in 24 B. pectinirostris $(96.0\%)$ and 14 Scartelaos sp. $(63.6\%)$ from Shinan-gun. Heterophyopsis continua metacercariae were found in 11 B. pectinirostris $(44.0\%)$ and 21 Scartelaos sp. $(95.5\%)$ from Shinan-gun. Stictodora fuscata metacercariae were detected in 18 B. pectinirostris $(72.0\%)$ from Shinan-gun. No metacercariae were detected in 20 B. pectinirostris from Sooncheon-shi. From the above results, this study is the first to prove that B. pectinirostris and Scartelaos sp. serve as the second intermediate hosts of some heterophyid flukes in Korea.

  • This study is to understand cotton Tyeollik construction of the middle Chosun Period through the reconstruction of tyeoilik which was excavated from lady kim's tomb (from sooncheon). The form of excavated Tyeollik classified into two types by the location of waistline. The structure of excavated tyeollik classified into three types by the construction(one-layer, two-layer, cotton/quilt) The form type change according to the period. The change of the form type has the close relation structure type in the tyeollik. Cotton-tyeollik belongs to the form of the front time. The construction of cotton tyeollik is similar with the one-layer Tyeollik Exception the construction of git(collar) and the size and direction of the fold. The surface pattern is composed of two-pieces but the liner is one-piece in the Git(collar). and In The size of fold surface is o.2-o.3cm, and liner is 0.5-0.8cm. The direction of fold in the liner is the contrast with the surface.

  • The purpose of this study was to compare the health services information need between urban area and rural area in Sooncheon City. For accomplishing this purpose, we selected 1,060 adults randomly, 744 urban residents and 314 rural residents were surveyed from 1st, December to 31st, December in 1999. Compared the difference between two areas by cross tabulation, and chi-square test were used. The results of this study are as follows: 1. There were statistically difference in sociodemographic characteristics between urban residents and rural residents, such as age, education, job, income, and insurance payment(p<0.001). 2. According to the health utilization behavior, types of health facility, satisfaction of medical cost, and satisfaction of medical results were statistically different between the two areas(p<0.001). Also utilization of the health service center, and accessibility were statistically different between urban and rural areas(p<0.001). 3. Experiencing the health service information, type of health service information, methods of information, effectiveness, and satisfaction were statistically different between the two areas(p<0.001). 4. And experience of using computer, and internet and preference of method of health service information were statistically different between urban and rural areas. Therefore, the construction of health information system should be carefully reviewed by community health service centers and they should consider the different residents information needs, and accessibility and convenience of community residents.

To analyze the vocabulary, classification was made into three groups : names of clothing, material, verb, and observe the constituent and change on vocabularies. The results are as follows : - The vocabularies of clothing in letters in 16th Centuries consist of pure Korean, Chinese and Mongolia, and most of them are pure Korean. - Most of the vocabularies which are not used today were pure Korean : Garamei·Myentei…. - The vocabularies changed and used today had the definite meaning from that of general : Godo, Cheksum. The vocabularies of material haying various unit of measurement and grade according to the material of clothing mean the systematic development of physical culture of that time, and the development of the various modifications of the act and expression mean the varlous ways of clothing life.

  • This study investigates the chulik of Soo Buen's, Heymjo Kim's, Sooncheon Kim's grave in early Chosun Dynasty. The purpose of this study is to revise concretely the relation to Mongolian costume, Zilsun and Chulik, of the distintion of sex to wearer. This paper reviews the general construction form the excavated graves of them. This paper finds that there exist different Chulik forms according to the ratios between upper portion and lower portion in Early Chosun Dynasty. Eventhough they were a kind of Mongolian costume, in relation to Zilsun(質孫) and Chulik(帖 ) they are different form each other. They have a lot of pleats coat( 積袍), but they are different clothes, and also, even if Chulik were excavated in womens grave, because their husbands presented them to their wives, Chuliks were not women's, and they were used for men.
