In this paper, we propose a establishment of system level environment to exploit PC system with SSD (Solid State Disk) by using TLM (Transaction Level Modeling) method with SystemC language. The reason why we choose this modeling method is that it eases RTL (Register Transfer Level) modeling burdens and we can accurately estimate the performance about different architectural changes. Also, it provides simulation speed which is relatively faster than RTL modeling method. The baseline architectural platform we implemented showed that SSD's internal transfer time is a dominant factor, so we need to improve that part and it is expected to be a good simulator to measure the system's overall performance by exploiting SSD's internal architectures.

Usually triangular patches are used to transfer geometric shape in Rpaid Prototyping CAM system. STL, a list of triangles, is de facto in RP industry. Because STL has no topology data, it can cause errornous results. So, STL should be verified before using. After adding support structures to anchor the part to the platform and to prevent sagging or distortion, slicing and layer by layer manufacturing process are done. But triangular patch is surface model and cannot provide dufficient information on geometry in the above processes. So, geometric modeling is necessary in verifying STL, adding support structures, and slicing. It is natural that triangle based modeling is the best when traingular patches are used as input. Considering support structures, solid and faces coexist in RP process. Therefore non-manifold modeler is required. In this study, triangle based non-manifold geometric modeling is proposed for RP system consitent with STL input.
A detailed finite element modeling is presented for the simulation of the nonlinear behavior of reinforced concrete structures which manages to predict the nonlinear behavior of four different experimental setups with computational efficiency, robustness and accuracy. The proposed modeling method uses 8-node hexahedral isoparametric elements for the discretization of concrete. Steel rebars may have any orientation inside the solid concrete elements allowing the simulation of longitudinal as well as transverse reinforcement. Concrete cracking is treated with the smeared crack approach, while steel reinforcement is modeled with the natural beam-column flexibility-based element that takes into consideration shear and bending stiffness. The performance of the proposed modeling is demonstrated by comparing the numerical predictions with existing experimental and numerical results in the literature as well as with those of a commercial code. The results show that the proposed refined simulation predicts accurately the nonlinear inelastic behavior of reinforced concrete structures achieving numerical robustness and computational efficiency.

Korean shipbuilders are starting to use three dimensional solid CAD systems to enhance their competitiveness in design and production. Despite many merits, three dimensional CAD systems reveal some problems in pipe-line modeling. Pipe-line modeling is heavily dependent on point data in routing. However, since the models built by sweeping or skinning operations do not have data about points and lines on the surfaces, the point data for routing are currently manually calculated by considering the diameters of the pipes and alignment conditions with other pipes. This process is inefficient and prone to errors. In order to enhance the pipe modeling, this paper presents an Offset Routing Program for a three dimensional CAD system, which aids designers to easily define the start points and to generate the pipe routings using reference objects.

The depressurization rate in a thrust variable solid rocket motor is the major factor that has the greatest influence on the thrust termination performance. In this study, the depressurization rates range of model solid rocket motor was identified and major factors affecting the depressurization rate were found. It is important for actual system design to understand the depressurization rate of the system that can satisfy the target performance as well as the extinguishing characteristics of the solid propellant. The methodology for obtaining the depressurization rate model in this study is considered to be applicable to the optimal design of the thrust terminable propulsion system.

Advances in Information Technology and in Biomedicine have created new uses for CAD technology with many novel and important biomedical applications. Such applications can be found, for example, in the design and modeling of orthopedics, medical implants, and tissue modeling in which CAD can be used to describe the morphology, heterogeneity, and organizational structure of tissue and anatomy. CAD has also played an important role in computer-aided tissue engineering for biomimetic design, analysis, simulation and freeform fabrication of tissue scaffolds and substitutes. And all the applications require precision geometry of the organs or bones of each patient. But the geometry information currently used is polygon model with none solid geometry and is so rough that it cannot be utilized for accurate analysis, simulation and fabrication. Therefore a case study is performed to deduce a transformation method to build free form surface from a rough polygon data or medical images currently used in the application. This paper describes the transformation procedure in detail and the considerations for accurate organ modeling are discussed.
As present generation live in the age of feeling after been through age of need or age of want, we analyzed Signification based on consumer psychology, sociocultural variation. Based on above, we first built basic modeling from a regular triangle by $\sqrt{3}$ proportion and then approached to substantial modeling of products that enable us to distribute and sell. Furthermore, we built recycle modeling which enables us to create a variety of forms with joy after using products. This means a lot to us in terms of package modeling creation from sans code. Besides, we studied on not only materialistic or functional value of package modeling, but also appropriate semiotics that enable psychological and sociocultural function of package modeling to respond to consumer identity.
Measuring tree's volume is very important input data of various environmental analysis modeling However, It's difficult to use economical and equipment to measure a fragmented small green space in the city. In addition, Trees are sensitive to seasons, so we need new and easier equipment and quantification methods for measuring trees than lidar for high frequency monitoring. In particular, the tree's size in a city affect management costs, ecosystem services, safety, and so need to be managed and informed on the individual tree-based. In this study, we aim to acquire image data with UAV(Unmanned Aerial Vehicle), which can be operated at low cost and frequently, and quickly and easily quantify a single tree using SfM-MVS(Structure from Motion-Multi View Stereo), and we evaluate the impact of reducing number of images on the point density of point clouds generated from SfM-MVS and the quantification of single trees. Also, We used the Watertight model to estimate the volume of a single tree and to shape it into a 3D structure and compare it with the quantification results of 3 different type of 3D models. The results of the analysis show that UAV, SfM-MVS and solid model can quantify and shape a single tree with low cost and high time resolution easily. This study is only for a single tree, Therefore, in order to apply it to a larger scale, it is necessary to follow up research to develop it, such as convergence with various spatial information data, improvement of quantification technique and flight plan for enlarging green space.
In this study, two computational methodologies were compared to consider an effective conjugate heat transfer analysis technique for the cooled vane with thermal barrier coating. The first one is the physical modeling method of the TBC layer on the vane surface, which means solid volume of the TBC on the vane surface. The second one is the numerical modeling method of the TBC layer by putting the heat resistance interface condition on the surface between the fluid and solid domains, which means no physical layer on the vane surface. For those two methodologies, conjugate heat transfer analyses were conducted for the cooled vane with TBC layer having various thickness from 0.1 mm to 0.3 mm. Static pressure distributions for two cases show quite similar patterns in the overall region while the physical modeling shows quite a little difference around the throat area. Thermal analyses indicated that the metal temperature distributions are quite similar for both methods. The results show that the numerical modeling method can reduce the computational resources significantly and is quite suitable method to evaluate the overall performance of TBC even though it does not reflect the exact geometry and flow field characteristics on the vane surface.
The purpose of this study is to investigate the efficiency of various structural modeling schemes for evaluating seismic performances and fragility of the reactor containment building (RCB) structure in the advanced power reactor 1400 (APR1400) nuclear power plant (NPP). Four structural modeling schemes, i.e. lumped-mass stick model (LMSM), solid-based finite element model (Solid FEM), multi-layer shell model (MLSM), and beam-truss model (BTM), are developed to simulate the seismic behaviors of the containment structure. A full three-dimensional finite element model (full 3D FEM) is additionally constructed to verify the previous numerical models. A set of input ground motions with response spectra matching to the US NRC 1.60 design spectrum is generated to perform linear and nonlinear time-history analyses. Floor response spectra (FRS) and floor displacements are obtained at the different elevations of the structure since they are critical outputs for evaluating the seismic vulnerability of RCB and secondary components. The results show that the difference in seismic responses between linear and nonlinear analyses gets larger as an earthquake intensity increases. It is observed that the linear analysis underestimates floor displacements while it overestimates floor accelerations. Moreover, a systematic assessment of the capability and efficiency of each structural model is presented thoroughly. MLSM can be an alternative approach to a full 3D FEM, which is complicated in modeling and extremely time-consuming in dynamic analyses. Specifically, BTM is recommended as the optimal model for evaluating the nonlinear seismic performance of NPP structures. Thereafter, linear and nonlinear BTM are employed in a series of time-history analyses to develop fragility curves of RCB for different damage states. It is shown that the linear analysis underestimates the probability of damage of RCB at a given earthquake intensity when compared to the nonlinear analysis. The nonlinear analysis approach is highly suggested for assessing the vulnerability of NPP structures.
