A bibliographical review of inorganic lithium ion conductors is presented with a focus on those potential candidates for lithium battery application. A wide variety of inorganic lithium ion conductors, both crystalline ceramics and non-crystalline glasses, are considered.
Li metal is accepted as a good counter electrode for electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS) as the active material in Li-ion and Li-ion polymer batteries. We examined the existence of signal noise from a Li-metal counter quantitatively as a preliminary study. We suggest an electrochemical cell with one switchable electrode to obtain the exact impedance signal of active materials. To verify the effectiveness of the switchable electrode, EIS measurements of the solid electrolyte interphase (SEI) before severe $Li^+$ intercalation to SFG6 graphite (at > ca. 0.25 V vs. Li/$Li^+$) were taken. As a result, the EIS spectra without the signal of Li metal were obtained and analyzed successfully for the following parameters i) $Li^+$ conduction in the electrolyte, ii) the geometric resistance and constant phase element of the electrode (insensitive to the voltage), iii) the interfacial behavior of the SEI related to the $Li^+$ transfer and residence throughout the near-surface (sensitive to voltage), and iv) the term reflecting the differential limiting capacitance of $Li^+$ in the graphite lattice.
For the first time, a totally solid state electric double layer capacitor has been fabricated using an alkaline polymer electrolyte and an activated carbon powder as electrode material. The polymer electrolyte serves both as separator as well as electrode binder. The capacitor has a three-layer structure; electrode-electrolyte-electrode. A cyclic voltammetry and constant current discharge have been used for the determination of the electro chemical performance of capacitors.
The application of ozone solid polymer electrolyte or Membrel water electrolysis cells with $PbO_2$ anodes for anodic generation of ozone in electrolyte-free water is reported. Maximum yields were obtained at a temperature of $25^{\circ}C-30^{\circ}C$ and current density of about 1A/$cm^2$. The current efficiency was not found to depend on ozone concentration in the feed water. exclusive transference of electric current by protons absence of convection in the electrolyte and high oxygen oversaturatation in the vicinity of electrode
Cobalt-free $La_xSr_{4-x}Fe_6O_{13}$ ($0{\leq}x{\leq}2$) oxide have been synthesized and investigated as a potential cathode material for solid oxide fuel cells (SOFCs). $Sr_4Fe_6O_{13}$ consists of alternating perovskite layers ($Sr_4Fe_2O_8$) containing iron cations in octahedral oxygen coordination and $Fe_4O_5$ layers where iron cations have 5-fold coordination of two types-square pyramids and trigonal bipyramids. Our preliminary electrochemical testes of pristine $Sr_4Fe_6O_{13}$ show a rather high area specific resistance ($0.47{\Omega}cm^2$ at $700^{\circ}C$) for ~20 ${\mu}m$ thick layers with CGO electrolyte. The electrochemical performances are improved by La addition up to x=1 ($La_1Sr_3Fe_6O_{13}$, $0.06{\Omega}cm^2$ at $700^{\circ}C$). In addition, thermal expansion coefficient (TEC) values of $La_1Sr_3Fe_6O_{13}$ specimen demonstrated $15.1{\times}10^{-6}\;^{\circ}C^{-1}$ in the range of 25-900$^{\circ}C$, which provides good thermal expansion compatibility with the CGO electrolyte. An electrolyte supported (300-${\mu}m$-thick) single-cell configuration of $La_1Sr_3Fe_6O_{13}$/CGO/Ni-CGO delivered a maximum power density of 584 $mWcm^{-2}$ at $700^{\circ}C$. In addition, an anode supported single cell by YSZ electrolyte (10-${\mu}m$-thick) with a porous CGO interlayer between the cathode and the electrolyte to avoid undesired interfacial reactions exhibited 1,517 $mWcm^{-2}$ at $800^{\circ}C$. The unique composition of $La_1Sr_3Fe_6O_{13}$ with low thermal expansion coefficient and higher electrochemical properties could be a good cathode candidate for intermediate temperature SOFCs with CGO and YSZ electrolyte.
In-situ micro-channeled multi tubular solid oxide fuel cell(SOFC) was fabricated using multi-pass extrusion process with out side diameter of 2.7 mm and active length of 5 mm that contained 61 individual cells. Cell materials used in this work were NiO-YSZ (50 : 50 vol.%), 8 mol% yttria-stabilized zirconia(8YSZ), $La_{0.8}Sr_{0.2}MnO_3(LSM)$ as anode, electrolyte, and cathode, respectively. The arrangement of each electrode and electrolyte layer in green bodies showed uniformity and integrity after extrusion and sintering. The XRD analysis confirmed that no reaction phases appeared and the microstructure of the electrolyte was fairly dense (relative density > 96%) after sintering.

The quick-charging performance of SiO electrodes is evaluated with a focus on solid electrolyte interphase (SEI)-reinforcing effects. The study reveals that the incorporation of fluoroethylene carbonate (FEC) into the SiO electrode significantly reduced the electrode fatigue, which is from the the viscoelastic properties of the FEC-derived SEI film. The impact of FEC is attributed to its ability to minimize the mechanical failure of the electrode caused by additional electrolyte decomposition. This beneficial outcome arises from volumetric stain-tolerant characteristics of the FEC-derived SEI film, which limited exposure of the bare SiO surface during 0.5 C-rate cycling. Notably, FEC greatly improves Li deposition during quick-charge cycles following aging at 0.5 C-rate cycling due to its ability to maintain a strong electrical connection between active materials and the current collector, even after extended cycling. Given these findings, we assert that mitigating SEI layer deterioration, which compromises the electrode structure, is vital. Hence, enhancing the interfacial attributes of the SiO electrode becomes crucial for maintaining kinetic efficiency of battery system.
1,1-Dialkyl-2,5-bis(trimethylsilylethynyl)-3,4-diphenylsiloles (R=Et, i-Pr, n-Hex; 3a-c) were prepared and utilized as anode active materials for lithium-ion batteries; 3a was also used as a filler for the solid-state electrolytes (SSE). Siloles 3a-c were prepared by substitution reactions in which the two bromine groups of 1,1-dialkyl-2,5-dibromo-3,4-diphe- nylsiloles, used as precursors, were substituted with trimethylsilylacetylene in the presence of palladium chloride, copper iodide, and triphenylphosphine in diisopropylamine. Among siloles 3a-c, 3a had the best electrochemical properties as an anode material for lithium-ion batteries, including an initial capacity of 758 mAhg-1 (0.1 A/g), which was reduced to 547 mAhg-1 and then increased to 1,225 mAhg-1 at 500 cycles. A 3a-composite polymer electrolyte (3a-CPE) was prepared using silole 3a as an additive at concentrations of 1, 2, 3, and 4 wt.%. The 2 wt.% 3a-CPE composite afforded an excellent ionic conductivity of 1.09 × 10-3 Scm-1 at 60℃, indicating that silole 3a has potential applicability as an anode active material for lithium-ion batteries, and can also be used as an additive for the SSE of lithium-ion batteries.
(1.15 M lithium hexafluorophosphate (LiPF6) in ethylene carbonate/ethyl methyl carbonate (EC/EMC, 3/7 by volume))보다 각각 6%와 9% 향상된 결과를 보여주었다. 따라서, LiBOB이 상온 성능을 동등 이상으로 유지하면서도 고온 특성을 개선할 수 있는 우수한 전해액 첨가제로 판단된다.
