We performed the geotechnical experiments of the hydraulic conductivity and compressive strength test with the stabilized soil in the laboratory, proved that it is useful to use the stabilized soil as an alternative for natural clay soil. Also, for mixing adding materials in the stabilized soil, it was determined that 1) the optimal mixing ratio of cement : bentonite : stabilizing agent was 90:60:1 of mass ratio(kg) for 1㎥ with soil, 2) it was also possible to use low quality bentonite(B\circled2) classified by swelling grade because of little difference from results of the hydraulic conductivity and compressive strength test with high quality bentonite(B\circled1). According to the results of the fixation ability of heavy metals(Pb$^{2+}$, Cu$^{2+}$, Cd$^{2+}$, Zn$^{2+}$) with soil and additives, authors can conclude that the higher pH condition had the more removal efficiency of heavy metals. B\circled1 and cement had especially high removal efficiency of heavy metals in a whole pH because of high alkalinity.alinity.
The mobility of groundwater in the soil environment has an important role in the soil environment and absorption of plant. Therefore, studies on the mobility of groundwater considering the physical and chemical properties of soil is very important. In this study, movement of water due to change in soil particle size were observed by capillary rise. The height of the capillaries was measured according to capillary diameter, temperature and solution concentration. The inner diameter of each capillary itself is 0.012, 0.016, 0.024, 0.027 cm, and experiments were performed at $22^{\circ}C$. As a result, the height of the capillaries decreased with increasing capillary diameter, and the solution temperature but increased with increasing concentration. Changes in the height of the capillaries are interpreted to related with surface tension by the Young-Laplace equation. Also on the mobility of groundwater, the increase of water and soil temperatures can be significant factors caused by ion strength and global warming as well as pores in the soil particles. The results of this study is considered to provide the basic data on the behavior of groundwater in the soil environment.
In order to examine strength properties depended on climate changes of solidified soil amended by porosity silica which enhance harms of cement, this study conducts a wetting and drying repetition test and then, attempts to verify strength properties before and after solidified soil gets environmental influence. Test pieces for the unconfined compression test changed the mixing ratio of solidified soil compared to mixed soil weigh to 5 %, 10 % and 15 %. For each step, it was created by mixing 0.5 %, 1.0 % and 1.5 % of wood chips, and curing period for 7, 14, and 28 days. Then, the wetting and drying repetition process was repeated 0, 3, 6, and 12 cycles to analyze mechanical properties. To also evaluate changes of relative dynamic elastic modulus before and after the wetting and drying, dynamic elastic modulus tests were conducted when each cycle was completed.
In this study, laboratory mixture design test and field test were performed to evaluate applicability of eco-friendly binder material (CMD-SOIL) using desulfurized dust in deep cement mixing method (DCM). As a result of laboratory mixture design test, the uniaxial compressive strength of CMD-SOIL was up to 1.136 times bigger than slag cement by changing the water content, mixing rate, and W/B. Also, it had shown the strength up to 1.222 times bigger in shell content and up to 1.363 times in mixing of floating soil. As a result of field test, field strength/laboratory design criterion strength ratio (${\lambda}$) is shown 0.77. And this result was similar to earlier studies. From this result, CMD-SOIL can show the same efficiency compared with existing binder.
This study is designed to optimize the method of using SE-101 for strengthening the durability and the stabilization of moving historical site. The permeability and the shear strength of The epoxy SE-101 with low viscosity were measured on different particle sizes and moisture content of soil. Like it can be expected from the data of viscosity, as the soil particle size was increased, the permeability was also increased, while the shear strength was decreased. And especially, it is noted that the deviation of permeability can be more extreme according to the different hardening speed of macromolecule and mineral additives. As the rate of moisture content in soil sample is increased, the deviation between permeability and shear strength is also increased. Even though among the same soil sample, some parts of it can be weaker than others, which cause the breakages of epoxy products. Thus, it is necessary that the soil should be dried over 50% of permeation depth of SE-101 before use.

In this paper, practical predictive models for soil shear strength parameters are proposed. As cohesion and internal friction angle are of essential shear strength parameters in any geotechnical studies, we try to predict them via artificial neural network (ANN) and neuro-imperialism approaches. The proposed models was based on the result of a series of consolidated undrained triaxial tests were conducted on reinforced sandy soil. The experimental program surveys the increase in internal friction angle of sandy soil due to addition of polypropylene fibers with different lengths and percentages. According to the result of the experimental study, the most important parameters impact on internal friction angle i.e., fiber percentage, fiber length, deviator stress, and pore water pressure were selected as predictive model inputs. The inputs were used to construct several ANN and neuro-imperialism models and a series of statistical indices were calculated to evaluate the prediction accuracy of the developed models. Both simulation results and the values of computed indices confirm that the newly-proposed neuro-imperialism model performs noticeably better comparing to the proposed ANN model. While neuro-imperialism model has training and test error values of 0.068 and 0.094, respectively, ANN model give error values of 0.083 for training sets and 0.26 for testing sets. Therefore, the neuro-imperialism can provide a new applicable model to effectively predict the internal friction angle of fiber-reinforced sandy soil.

The shear behavior of soil-concrete interface is mainly affected by the surface roughness of the two contact surfaces. The present research emphasizes on investigating the effect of roughness of soil-concrete interface on the interface shear behavior in two-layered laboratory testing samples. In these specially prepared samples, clay silt layer with density of $2027kg/m^3$ was selected to be in contact a concrete layer for simplifying the laboratory testing. The particle size testing and direct shear tests are performed to determine the appropriate particles sizes and their shear strength properties such as cohesion and friction angle. Then, the surface undulations in form of teeth are provided on the surfaces of both concrete and soil layers in different testing carried out on these mixed specimens. The soil-concrete samples are prepared in form of cubes of 10*10*30 cm. in dimension. The undulations (inter-surface roughness) are provided in form of one tooth or two teeth having angles $15^{\circ}$ and $30^{\circ}$, respectively. Several direct shear tests were carried out under four different normal loads of 80, 150, 300 and 500 KPa with a constant displacement rate of 0.02 mm/min. These testing results show that the shear failure mechanism is affected by the tooth number, the roughness angle and the applied normal stress on the sample. The teeth are sheared from the base under low normal load while the oblique cracks may lead to a failure under a higher normal load. As the number of teeth increase the shear strength of the sample also increases. When the tooth roughness angle increases a wider portion of the tooth base will be failed which means the shear strength of the sample is increased.

In this study, engineering characteristics such as flowability, segregation and compressive strength by age to derive fast hardening material mixing proportion using excavated soil. And based on optimal mixing proportion, field simulation experiment conducted in laboratory to examine the effectiveness of the method such as kelly ball drop test and soil penetration test for reviewing the following process. As as a result of evaluation, in case of kelly ball drop test and soil penetration test were securing the following process initiation time 3 hours after place CLSM. As results of these assessments, kelly ball drop test and soil penetration test were applicable for revewing following process in construction field besides unconfined compressive strength method.
In this study, the effect of aspect ratio and soil strength on the skin friction for barrette pile was evaluated using numerical analysis. The back analysis was conducted to obtain the friction coefficient between pile and soil using the experimental results of the static pile load test for the barrette pile installed at OOsite in Busan. A total of 36 simulations for the static pile load test were also conducted with respect to various aspect ratios and soil strengths. It was found that the skin friction increases as the aspect ratio increases and the change in increasing rate was remarkable near the ultimate skin friction. In addition, the effect of aspect ratio on the skin friction was investigated when the strength of soil at pile tip was varied.
This paper investigates the mechanical characteristics of reinforced lightweight soil (RLS) using waste fishing net. RLS used in this experiment consists of dredged soil taken from construction site of Busan New Port, cement, air foam and waste fishing net. Several series of laboratory tests were performed to compare behavior characteristics between RLS and unreinforced lightweight soil, in which the reinforced effect by waste fishing net on RLS was evaluated. The experimental results of RLS indicated that the stress-strain relationship and the unconfined compressive strength are strongly influenced by the content of waste fishing net. Compressive strength of RLS Increased with the increase in curing time and generally increased by adding waste fishing net, but the amount of increase in compressive strength was not proportional to the content of waste fishing net. In this test, the maximum increase in compressive strength was obtained at 0.25% content of waste fishing net. On the other hand, water content of RLS rapidly decreased up to 7 days of curing time and converged to constant value.
