The elderly in South Korea in 2012 to 11.8% now aging fast-paced world, which is older than most countries. That is, as long as the elderly people lack the time to respond on the issue could cause many problems. According to the principle of social solidarity, long-term care insurance was introduced for the elderly since July 2008 and facility and sanction salaries were supported for the level 1 (the most serious illness) - level 3 (serious illness) elderly. On the other hand, in the fields of architecture, it is difficult to receive the contents of the unified related articles when the design and construction of the elderly welfare facilities take propel commissioned. This paper not only presents the elderly welfare facilities operated according to the institution and policy of elderly welfare facilities in terms of architecture, but also provides the criteria summarized by building facilities in the field of construction of elderly welfare facilities planning, planning, design is intended to provide basic information. This study addresses are as follows: First, the aging population of South Korea and welfare facilities for the elderly are addressed. Second, in terms of architecture, the institution and policy of elderly welfare facilities in South Korea, are addressed. Third, the construction criteria of elderly welfare facilities is summarized to help architectural practitioners understand. Fourth, the future direction of the architectural design of welfare facilities for the elderly is presented.
This study searched for the common and different aspects of social community welfare centers and health family support centers for family welfare practice of the community. We also tried to find out the awareness of workers and the performance function for each institution. Through the interviews and review of literature, and comparative analysis of operating status, we looked for the common and different aspects, and the direction of development, which evolved family welfare into the community by way of function and relationships of both institutions. As a result, the participants of this study pursued common purposes. They however made aware of the issues of discrimination about social values and each institution's functions. We suggest that the social community welfare center focuses on individuals and families, in order to integrate the community. A health family support center should play the role to fulfill needs for family welfare according to family life cycle, and have good accessibility for individuals and families in the community.
This study analyzed the effect of the inclusion program executed in a social welfare institution for handicapped children of community in order to support inclusive education of elementary school. The statistical analyses adapted in this study were the Frequency Analysis, T-test, One-Way ANOVA, Correlation Analysis, Two-Way ANOVA, and ANCOVA. As the results of the analyses, there was significant difference of the increase in the scores between pre-test attitude and attitude improvement of normal children (nonhandicapped children) by intervention of the inclusion program. Secondly three variables such as the sex, the experience of integrated class, and the school environment gave influence on attitude improvement of normal children, but two variables such as the school year and the religion didn't give influence on attitude improvement of normal children. However, as the results of the ANCOVA, it was appeared that both the school year variable and the religion variable didn't give influence on attitude improvement of normal children. Consequently, as the attitude improvement of normal children was irrelevant to the characteristic variables such as the school year and the religion, it is verified that the inclusion program gives still significant impact in the difference between pre-test attitude and attitude improvement of normal children. In conclusion, As the pure effectiveness of the inclusion program executed in social welfare institutions for handicapped children in order to support inclusive education of elementary school was confirmed, it was suggested in this study that the inclusion program in the field of social work practice based community can be an important tool of social integration through inclusive education between handicapped children and normal children.
When parents as primary care takers to the mentally disabled adult are no longer taking care of their care-needed offsprings because of their own death or illness, instead themselves. who take care of their offsprings with the mental disability? Therefore, 'permanency planning' is very important for reduction of parents' care burden and social integration of mentally disabled adults. Accordingly, this study aims to find out factors which are related to permanency planning for adults with the mentally disability For the purpose of the study, 192 parents of the adult with the mental illness and mental retardation were conducted a survey regarding type of permanency planning, and its related factors including social functioning level of the mentally disabled, care burden, parents' self-perception of being aged, help from offspring without mental disability, social support, and financial ability. Furthermore, this study examined correlation between these factors and residential planning. Results obtained by the study were as follows: 1) 51% of the parents are having a plan for institution and most parents want other family member to take care for financial planning for their mentally disabled offsprings. 2) As a result of multiple regression for finding out factors which affect parents' permanency planning, social functioning level of the mentally disabled, parents' self-perception of being aged, help from offspring without mental disability, social support, and financial ability were statistically significant influenced factors, which has 23.3% of explanatory power. 3) As a result of step-wise multiple regression, financial ability, parents' self-perception of being aged, and help from offspring without mental disability were the most powerful influenced factors for permanency planning. 4) In case of having a plan for residential types-which are institution and community living-, parents who have a plan for the mentally disabled offsprings' future residence as community living than institution have the offsprings with more social functioning and also have more help from offspring without mental disability. Therefore, this study concluded that welfare policy for mental health and the handicapped which secure various types of community living facilities and income security is strongly needed. At the same time, mental health profession is needed to have more active interest and intervention for permanency planning for their adult clients and parents.

The construction of settlement house in a permanent rental housing development area started between 1989 and 1992, planning of supplying two hundred fifty thousand residences, settlement house became compulsory as a welfare facilities. As a part of Welfare program for low income families, number of settlement housing increased dramatically, also domiciliary welfare center was beginning to set up as a branch of settlement housing to strengthen its service towards families and local communities, thus numerous social welfare organizations play a crucial part in resolving a welfare problem for low income families while satisfying local community's needs. However, despite of these efforts, the number if institutions cannot handle demand of local community's needs and number of welfare institution programs. as a solution, the alternation of space is being used, however, it did not solve basic problem, even worsen in terms of space efficiency.

The purpose of this study is to examine the impact of social voluntary activity on the identity of women's college students. universities are functionally constituted by teaching, researching and social service. Data for analysis are collected 439 students at K women's college in other to examine research questions, t-test and regression test. The results of this analysis are as follows : First, There was any gap in self-esteem, morality and social welfare ideology between the college students who had ever experienced social voluntary activity and who had not. Second, The personal characteristics did not give an impact, but their satisfaction was under the influence of institutional support for supervision and altitude of themselves for social service, which were part of the institution characteristics. Third, The social service effectiveness was not affected by the personal characteristics, except influenced by the instituitional characteristits such as degree of compensation an influence on self-esteem. also social welfare and morality were not affected. Fourth, There was any gap in self-esteem, morality and social welfare ideology between the impact of service satisfaction on service effectiveness.
Social security is concerned with ensuring all citizens maintain basic needs, community health nursing maintains and promotes health for all community members. Lately, This new area of community health nursing, concern social welfare has increased. The objectives of this study are, first, to analysis the activities of nurses at community social welfare institutes, second, to estimate nursing demand for social welfare areas. The study methods used were as literature review, an analysis of statistical data and case study etc. The analytical framework also included a demand analysis of nursing manpower in community social welfare areas. The major results are as follows; 1. Employees which work at social welfare institutes number 55,464, nursing manpower (including nurse aids) number 1,458 and this is 3% of the total employees. Within nursing manpower, nurses number 780, nurse aids number 670. 2. The rates of nurses among total employees were high in institutes for mental disorders and institutes for the age. 3. The salary level of nurses was lower than average and the rates of retirement showed a roughly middle level in welfare institutes. 4. The satisfaction level of nursing services was high, and it is the trend that nurses substitute for nurse aids which retire at social welfare institutes. 5. Nurse demand that follows legal criteria is 2,221, but only 35% are working. It is therefore insufficient from the minimum of 733 to a maximum 1433. 6. The sufficiency rates by institution were high at institutes for vagrants, aged and the handicapped. In conclusion, the conditions are of nurses which are working in with the social welfare institutes are poor. Also the number of nurses compared rates of demand were in surplus. But, the basic direction of welfare policy is universal-preventive and provision of the family and of community centered service, and nursing service demand in the social welfare institute will increase continuously, we predict. Therefore, we will need a positive plan such as the development of an inservice education program and the construction of an information collection system etc.
The purpose of this study was to analyze the regional distribution of the number of social welfare facilities per 100,000 population by using the concentration index(CI) and to evaluate the relationship with the local welfare environment. The results of the analysis are as follows. First, the distribution of social welfare facilities between urban and rural area were distributed in rural areas. And concentration of rural area was gradually decreasing. Second, the concentration index of the social welfare institution was calculated as the negative index. Therefore, social welfare facilities are concentrated in rural areas. However, the absolute value of concentration index decreased. Finally, there are many social welfare facilities in areas with poor economic conditions, low incomes, low welfare budget input, and poor social demolition indicators. In the future, the relationship between inequality of regional distribution of welfare resources and the relationship between local welfare environment should be continuously monitored.
The purpose of this study was to understand the experiences of adolescent who are scheduled to discharge from child care institution. Data was gathered from 5 adolescent who are scheduled to discharge from child care institution within 1-2 years and qualitative case study used for data analysis. The analysis showed that adolescents of child care institution experienced separation from their parents and entered the institution with no consideration of their feelings. Then, they stayed in the institution for many years, even throughout their teenager-years, before they are released from the institution. Although feelings they experience of separation from the institution included worry and tension, those feelings were different from feelings they received from separation from their parents in a way that the former was more hopeful and future forwarding. Based on these findings, services sensitive to adolescent who are scheduled to discharge from the institution are suggested.
The purpose of this study was to review the current state and issues of family life welfare policy and service delivery system in Korea Up to now social welfare has exclusively represented welfare area and family life welfare has been treated as a subarea of social welfare not an independent area Recently the organization system of family life welfare in Korea was reorganized. The depatment of family life welfare was disorganized and the role and function of it was dispersed. The present policy for family life welfare and service delivery system pose many issues in legal arrangement administrative dimension approach characteristics of welfare concerned department institution professional personnel and certificate system.
