근대 이상주거 고댕의 사회궁전에 나타나는 건축특성 연구 (A Study on the Architectural Characteristics of Godin's Social Palace System of Modern Ideal Housing)

  • This study analyzes the architectural characteristics of Godin's Social Palace system of ideal housing for laborers during the 19th century. Utopian socialists in the first half of the 19th century proposed different solutions to reform their chaotic capitalist society, in response to the maladies of the Industrial Revolution. Fourier designed an ideal housing referred to as the Phalanstere, in which residences coexisted in a cooperative society. His disciples tried in vain to make this ideal housing system real. The only realization of this type of ideal housing was called Godin's Social Palace, which was constructed in Guise, France. The main architectural characteristics of Godin's Social Palace are as follows: dwelling units in consideration of function and expansion are applied basically in the housing. Further, a natural ventilation system is applied between housing and courtyard, and water supply is established in the housing. In Particular, natural lighting and artificial illumination are used in the entire building appropriately. In addition, a device which promotes a community between inhabitants is established. As for such modern facilities and social devices, inhabitants were able to live a more comfortable life. Hence, it is confirmed to have been one of the important factors for sustaining the Social Palace for more than 100 years.

Corporate Social Responsibility and its Relationship with Increasing Company Value

  • Purpose: The advantages of corporate social responsibility (CSR) include stronger recognition and reputation, which lead to a company's good public image, increased customer loyalty, operational cost saving, and employee retention. The purpose of the present research is to take a close look at the association between CSR and organization's value. Research design, data and methodology: The authors tried to obtain the high-quality textual data from mostly peer-reviewed journals using a PRISMA ((Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses). The authors was to figure out adequate solutions from limited range of the current literature (only peer-reviewed research) regarding CSR and corporate value. Results: Our investigation indicates that CSR is essential to all businesses as it ensures they keep in touch with society, retaining top personnel, and achieving top financial success. Companies and organizations can engage in four corporate social responsibility initiatives to increase value, including environmental projects, charitable work, honest labor practices, and volunteer activity. Conclusions: An organizations should be involved in the community and consider how its actions affect the environment and society. Small or large businesses are expected to lead in developing a progressive CSR program that benefits people and the environment and continuously changes depending on the social and economic environment.

사회서비스 10년 경험을 통해 본 사회서비스 일자리 정책의 과제 (Job Creation in the Social Service Sector : A Critical Review of the Current Problems and the New Administration's Policies)

  • 사회서비스 일자리 창출은 지난 2006년부터 정부의 주된 관심사 가운데 하나였다. '고용 없는 성장'이라는 신사회위험 앞에서 사회서비스 일자리 창출은 다시 한 번 새로 출범한 문재인 행정부에서도 국정과제 중 하나로 선정되었다. 지난 10년 간 정부는 한편으로는 사회서비스 일자리 늘리기 위한 노력을 그리고 다른 한편으로는 예산 증가 억제를 위해 서비스 가격에 대한 규제 정책을 펼쳐왔다. 그 결과, 일자리의 질과 사회서비스 산업과 시장의 활성화는 기대보다 낮은 수준에 머무르고 있다. 이 글은 과거 10년 동안의 사회서비스 정책에 의해 발생한 문제점과 새 정부가 계획 중인 사회서비스공단 설립으로 인해 발생할 수 있는 문제점을 지적함과 동시에 사회비스 산업 활성화가 일자리 창출과 일자리 질 향상을 위한 가장 근본적인 방안이라는 입장에서 사회서비스 산업 활성화를 위한 몇 가지 정책 과제와 사회보험으로서의 사회서비스보험 도입의 필요성을 주장한다.

조직 내 민주성이 사회적 자본의 형성에 미치는 영향: 서번트 리더십의 조절효과 (The Impact of Workplace Democracy on Social Capital: The Moderating Effect of Servant Leadership)

  • Purpose - Unlike in the past, individualistic thought is more dominant than groupism where members prioritize organizations. Such changes run counter to the direction of the survival of the companies, which calls for companies to explore strategies to address thems. As one of the solutions, many people highlights social capital. However, since most studies have been conducted on the definition and characteristics of social capital, there is not enough prior factor research on the formation of social capital. So the current situation require researches on the formation of social capital. Research design, data, and methodology - To achieve the purpose, the literature and the empirical studies were combined. Deriving workplace democracy and servant leadership as factors affecting the formation of social capital through the literature, and this factors have modeled assumptions about the impact on social capital, and have established hypotheses to verify them. The survey which is conducted to verify the hypothesis and questionnaires are derived base on the variables used in the previous studies. The survey was conducted 447 respondents in Korea. Results - As a result, we found that the workplace democracy is positively functioning with the formation of social capital. It means that the democracy functions as a universal element to enhance the quality of social capital at the workplace. The evidence also shows that the positive impacts of the servant leadership on the formation of social capital. And the survey shows that groups with high level servant leadership had a higher impact on the formation of social capital than those with low levels leadership. Conclusions - At present, the social capital has become an important factor for the companies pursuing high performance workplaces. We found that the workplace democracy and the servant leadership affect the formation of social capital. It means that to increase the employees' sense of community and solidarity, it is need to form democratic environment with the servant leadership. Therefore, based on the results of this study, the workplace democracy and the servant leadership can present strategic implications that can increase the social capital.

귀농·귀촌의 경험 여부에 따른 갈등 요인과 관리에 대한 인식 차이 (The Perception Gap about Conflict Factors and Solutions by Experience of Returning to Farming)

  • Targeting people returning to farming and also people preparing for returning to farming, this study analyzed differences in awareness of conflict factors and conflict management focusing on the conflicts experiencing in the process of their movement and settlement process in rural area. In the results, people preparing for returning to farming showed higher awareness of conflicts and also higher necessity of conflict management than people already returning to farming. Also, both groups preferred individual conflict management to structural conflict management. Based on the results like above, the implications can be summarized like below. First, it would be necessary to have programs informing possible conflicts in advance in the process of returning to farming and also relieving psychological anxiety by providing prior-learning to people preparing for returning to farming. Second, it would be necessary to have individual conflict management measures to establish mutual trust and to form community spirit through regular social gatherings between original residents and people returning to farming. Since the effect of conflict management can be maximized only when the structural and individual conflict managements are properly harmonized, it would be necessary to have the structural conflict management which is relatively felt difficult.

사회환경분야 환경영향평가 개선방안 (A Study on the Improvement Scheme of Environmental Impact Assessment in Social Environment)

  • The purpose of this study is to understand the process and characteristics of social impact caused by development projects through research and analysis on issues presented during development projects carried out in Korea. Furthermore, on the basis this analysis, this study proposes possible improvement measure environmental impact assessment for minimizing social impact of development projects in the future. Issues related to development projects are generated mainly by the following three causes. Initial social impact can occur when a development project directly causes certain changes in natural, living and social environment. Operational problems related to assessment are another cause of social impact, and it can also occur when changes in natural and living environment work in tandem with social environment sphere. Social impact of development projects is not brought about solely by changes in social environment, but is the result of interaction of factors such as changes in social, natural, living environment and problems related to assessment or operation/management. As to why the current environmental impact assessment could not provide satisfactory solution to the issues mentioned above, this study suggests the following reasons: limitations of assessment method used in social environment category, difficulties in defining assessment criteria, limitations inherent in criterion referenced assessment method, insufficient issue-making in local community, and lack of participation on the part of local residents. Possible solutions for these limitations are as follows: 1) To identify local issues in social environment category through participation of local experts in scoping stage, 2) To adopt deliberative method for local participation, 3) To utilize social survey technique.

휴먼케어 로봇과 소셜 상호작용 기술 동향 (Recent Trends in Human-Care Robot and Social Interaction Technology)

  • This paper examines the trends of recently developed human-care robots and social interaction technologies. As one of the solutions to the problems of an aging society, human-care robots have gained considerable attention from the public and the market. However, commercialized human-care robots do not meet user expectations for the role as companions. Current robot services based on short-term interaction and fragmentary pieces of intelligence have encountered difficulty in eliciting natural communication with humans. This results in the failure of human-robot social bonding. Social interaction is being actively investigated as a technique for improving robots' natural communication skills. Robots can form a natural bond with humans through social interaction, which consequently increases their effectiveness. In this paper, we introduce recent human-care robot-related issues and subsequently describe technical challenges and implications for the success of human-care robots. In addition, we review recent trends on social interaction technologies and the datasets required.

Effect of Organizational Culture on Corporate Social Welfare Activities

  • Purpose - Stakeholders play a vital part in the company's CSR activities and they are part of the company's achievement and affect the company's achievement or business objectives. This study aims to add insight into the already existing knowledge how the organizational culture can promote corporate social welfare activities. Research design, Data, and methodology - The current authors obtained text data for the possible practical suggestions which might be used for the creation of coding method. That implies that the present author investigated only trustable textual sources to provide for the possible solutions such as peer-revied sources and published book. Result - Research results indicated that organizational culture promotes corporate social welfare activities by making people know their values and understand how they come about. Not every community knows what its members want and how to achieve its needs. Sometimes, a community can obtain the values and principles of an organization and incorporate them into community values. Conclusion - Executive leadership and customers are part of society. Any strategy that influences their operation and works ethic influences the contact of the community. This research found methods vital in setting up an excellent culture that enhances profitability and the corporate social welfare activities through motivation and communication.

  • 본 연구는 최근 사회문제화 되고 있는 다문화가족문제에 대해 그 실태분석을 통하여 해결방안을 찾고자 함을 목적으로 한다. 본 연구 결과는 다음과 같다: 첫째, 다문화 가족과 사회에 대한 정부와 국민 인식의 전환이 필요하다. 둘째, 다문화가족의 인권 침해, 근로문제, 생활문제 등의 지원을 위한 상담센터의 확대운영을 고려할 필요가 있다. 셋째, 다문화 교육내용과 대상 및 프로그램을 다양화하기 위한 정부를 비롯한 관련 기관 및 단체의 노력이 필요하다. 넷째, 다문화특구와 같은 별도의 지구책정이 필요하다.

해양 플라스틱 쓰레기로 인한 문제와 해결책에 관한 초등학생의 인식 조사 (Elementary Students' Perceptions of Marine Plastic Waste Problem and Solutions)

  • This study aims to explore how elementary students perceive and approach the issue of plastic debris in marine habitats by examining students' perspectives on the ecosystem and environmental solutions. The study was conducted to 143 Grade Four elementary school students in Seoul. After implementing two class-units on plastic waste, students' constructed responses on the problem of and solutions to plastic debris in marine habitats were collected. Data were analyzed through semantic network analysis and the keywords were visualized to reflect their relationships. Furthermore, students' responses on how they perceive environmental problems were further analyzed based on the following analysis criteria: students' perspectives on the ecosystem, the level of complexity of food chain(s), and the scope of their perspective. Also, student responses on environmental solutions were classified to be either at a personal or social level. Through semantic network analysis, keywords identified for students' perceptions on the problem were the sea, plastic, debris, animals, living things, humans, extinction, while keywords extracted for the solutions were plastic, debris, recycling, disposable, and I. Based on the analysis criteria, it was found that students were well aware of the food chain concept, could perceive the ecosystem as having comprised of both biotic and abiotic factors, and could approach the problem beyond the scope of the marine environment. Also, most students mentioned the solutions only at a personal level. Based on the findings, implications on how to move forward in educating environmental issues related to the ecosystem in science education is further discussed.
