This article explores religious responses to significant cultural and social change in a northern Vietnamese delta village from 1996 to 2008-the second decade after de-collectivization. Drawing upon extensive fieldwork in both the village and surrounding religious networks, the article teases out the meanings of the new religious movements for northern rural people in the new era of market economy; the symbols, language, and metaphoric resources people used in response to their uncertainty and mistrust of the new social landscape; and the unintended consequences of rapid societal development such as marginalization, tensions, and social disintegration. The article argues that as in milleniarism elsewhere, new religious movements in northern rural Vietnam embody unorthodox syncretism between world religious and local traditions, thus linking past, present, and future. However, when drawing upon a common reservoir of memories and experiences to cope with risks and challenges of the new market world, local people not only drew on the power and imperial metaphor of deities in their traditional religion and belief, but became more creative to recuperate meanings, standards, and symbols from revolutionary discourse to reorient themselves, and overcome alienation and marginalization.
Anxiety in mice can be measured by behavioral reactivity to social or non-social stressors. These behaviors were compared by performing the resident-intruder test (social) as well as the light-dark transition and open-field tests (non-social) for the FVB, C57BL/6, and BALB/c lines of mouse. The three inbred lines showed significant differences in their responses to intruder mice. Three factors, accounting for about 68% of the total variance, were extracted from the scores obtained from the three behavioral tests. The first two major factors are primarily associated with the anxiety-related behaviors. One includes anxiety behaviors with a locomotive basis, while the other includes defecation measured in both anxiety tests. The third factor explains the three social behaviors, facial investigation, ano-genital investigation, and following, observed in the resident intruder test, although facial investigation is also moderately associated with the second factor. The results indicate that the behavioral responses to an intruder share a component distinct from anxiety-related behaviors.

Purpose : This paper was attempted to identify the job stress related factors among the staff nurses and to provide the basic data concerning development of stress management program focused on hospitals. Method : The subjects were 309 staff nurses at two general hospitals in Seoul. Data were collected with self-reported questionnaires and analyzed by SPSS-PC+10.0 for descriptive analysis, ANOVA, stepwise multiple regression, factor analysis. Results : The subjects exhibit significantly highest level of 'the participation in decision making factor'. The mean score of 'control coping strategies' was higher than 'avoid coping strategies'. The mean scores of social support and stress responses were high. The main factor that affected the stress responses was 'the job characteristic factor' and it was explained 23.0% out of the total variance of the stress responses. Also, it would be explained 42.6% out of the total variance of the stress responses with 'the control coping strategies, work overload factors, social support, and participation in decision making factors'. Conclusion: For developing the hospital- focused stress management program for staff nurses, 'the participation in decision making factors' and 'the job characteristics' should be considered. Also, the organizational efforts and supports should be required to support and use of 'control coping strategies' of nurses
The purpose of this study was to discuss the difference of stress by the grade, examine the relationship between characteristics and main stress, and to investigate the effect of the National Examination of Registered Nurses on stress by using the stress self-rating scale targeting university nursing students (n=314), The stress self-rating scale consists of three subscales: stress responses, stressors and coping parts, such as perceived social support and a sense of humor. The data were analyzed by descriptive statistics, t-test, Pearson's correlation coefficient and regression analysis. The results showed that passing the National Examination of Registered Nurses was the first problem among the stressors. Stressors of the living factors and nursing factors, and subjective stressors of the surveyed nursing students were the highest among the senior students, but stressors of nursing factors increased according to the grade of the nursing students. Perceived stress responses were high in psychological responses of other aspects, and perceived stress responses increased according to the grade (p<.001). Senior students had a high weight of perceived stress responses (problem-focused, emotion-focused). and active and negative coping modes. Significant factors that explained the stressors were coping mode(r=.62-82. p<.01) and cognition(r=.19. p<.01). including the social support. These findings suggest that social support was very important for seniors. and that we have to develop approaches to decrease stress according to the student grade for nursing education process.

The purpose of this study was to investigate factors associated with coping responses in Korean public high school students. Methods: This study employed a descriptive survey research design. The sample included 263 high school students who responded to a self-report questionnaire. Variables included socio-demographic characteristics, health-related characteristics, academic stress, somatization symptoms, social support, and coping responses. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, t-tests, ANOVA, Pearson's correlations, and multiple regressions. Results: Participants, regarding their school life, reported moderate levels of academic stress ($M{\pm}SD=2.3{\pm}0.52$) and somatization symptoms ($M{\pm}SD=2.3{\pm}0.71$), and a relatively high level of social support ($M{\pm}SD=4.2{\pm}0.67$). All the variables were associated with the use of multiple coping responses. Active-cognitive coping ($M{\pm}SD=2.9{\pm}0.68$) was most frequently used, followed by active-behavioral coping ($M{\pm}SD=2.5{\pm}0.56$). and avoidant coping ($M{\pm}SD=2.3{\pm}0.75$). Significant relationships were found among the measured variables: positive relation between academic stress and somatization symptoms, but, negative between academic stress and both somatization symptoms and social support. Students who had higher stress and more somatization symptoms were more likely to use avoidant coping than the others. In multiple regression analysis, while factors associated with each coping response differed, gender appeared to be a significant factor in all methods. Variables included in the final model explained 27% of the variance in avoidant coping (F=11.40, p<.001). Conclusion: Based on the study results, schools should provide tailored educational programs to help high school students reduce multisource stress and somatization symptoms at school and cope with them in more active and effective ways.
This study integrated mother's control behavior of child's misbehavior within social domain analysis and the framework of attributional models of social cognition. The purpose of this study was to identify, compare and contrast maternal attributions and control responses according to child's age and domains of social behavior, and to investigate that mother's social cognition factors(authoritarian attitude and self competence perception) influence material inference and responses for their child's acts. Then this study was to find out whether mother's attribution would mediate their socialization techniques. For empirical research, 654 mothers with 5.6 year old and 8.9 year old children as subjects answered the structured questionnaire. The data were analyzed by frequencies, t-test, oneway ANOVA, and multiple regression. The major findings were as follows: First, according to child's two domains of misbehavior, there were differences in mothers'attribution and control behavior. Also mothers regarded older child's behavior as more dispositional cause and as more deserving of punishment than younger child's. Second, mother's authoritarian altitude of parenting, self-competence perception, and educational level were significantly related to mother's judgment. Third, the more authoritarian attitude mothers had, the more dispositional factor of children they attributed. And the lower self-competence mothers perceived. the more internal factor of child they attributed. Finally, maternal attributions and control responses are interrelated. When they attributed their children's misdeeds to internal dispositions, they respond with more stronger control behavior. The results suggested maternal social cognition mediate socialization behavior.
The aim of this study is to investigate the effects of climate messages using vegetable consumption arguments on social media. This study examines how interestingness and comprehension of messages affect social media responses and participation in campaigns as well as the moderating effect of the interest in vegetarianism (IV). The results indicate that interestingness and comprehension led to social media responses and participation in campaigns. The moderating effect of IV was significant.
Companies and brands that practice sustainability pay attention to New Media due to its ability to build a sustainable relationship between companies and consumers. The need for research on specific roles, characteristics, and social media effects on eco-friendly advertising has had rapid growth in marketing programs for sustainable activities especially shown through social media. Information about sustainable fashion has spread to consumers through social media, and multifarious efforts have been made to attract the attention of youth. Despite the dramatic increase in eco-friendly marketing through social media as a part of sustainability, there is a lack of research on the major influences of emotional factors such as ad color and expression in social media. In this context, it is meaningful to identify relationships between emotional responses, advertising value and consumer behavior of sustainable fashion brands in Instagram and implement a suitable advertising type (color vs expression) for consumers. We used 366 responses for the final analysis. Data were analyzed by factor analysis, structural equation modeling using SPSS 18.0 and AMOS 18.0. The results of this study suggest that emotional responses, advertising value have a significant effect on the flow. This study expands on a previously limited research field by verifying consumer responses to image advertising on Instagram, rather than general sustainable fashion marketing. The study results also provide meaningful implications for a relation formation between customers and fashion brands vis-${\grave{a}}$-vis sustainable social media marketing.
As many brands use social media influencers (SMIs) on Instagram to advertise, not disclosing advertised content affects how consumers perceive these influencers. The purpose of this study was to investigate two objectives: 1) recent advertising disclosure types on Instagram and 2) the factors that affect consumer responses towards Instagram influencers posting advertised content. Using an experimental 2x2 between-subjects design (N=200), the findings show that "sponsored" and "paid partnership with" are two recent types of ad disclosures. However, both factors are insignificantly different from each other. Also, ad disclosure condition enhances the trustworthiness of the influencer than no disclosure. Ad skepticism, source credibility, and the level of persuasion strongly relate to how consumers perceive Instagram influencers advertising for brands. These factors enable consumers to assess if the influencer is a reliable source of information when faced with advertisement. Ultimately, using disclosure gives full information to consumers about the persuasive intent, as well as increases positive consumer responses towards the influencer who discloses, thereby, enhancing the ethical use of the influencer advertising strategy and long-term consumer relationship.
This study explores how well parents and their children recognize the social attitudes of one another. Mothers, fathers and youths were asked to state their own opinion on various social issues then predict their children's, fathers' and mothers' responses(attributed attitudes). Empirical evaluation of the possible socialization consequences of actual versus attributed attitudes leads to a series of hypotheses. The data were collected from single students at a university in Seoul and their parents. Included in the seven social attitude were sexuality, educational, economic, political, ecological, religious and family issues. Analysis of the responses 98-110 triads, each consisting a mother, a father and a young adult child showed that both mothers and fathers were limited in their ability to gauge the attitudes of their children. Guided by attribution theory, this study tested several hypothesized relationships between the actual response of mother, the actual response of the father, the perceived response of the mother, the perceived response of the father and the actual response of the child. The theoretical model was tested with AMOS 5.0, utilizing path analysis, which is a form of structural equation modeling with manifest variables. Overall model fit was assessed by examining GFI, NFI, TLI, CFI and RMR. Results of the data analysis can be summarized as follows. First, the children perceived their mothers and fathers to be highly similar in their opinions and the actual responses of the mothers and the fathers were considerably correlated. Second, the fathers' responses whether attributed or actual were more predictive than the mothers' responses to their children's opinions. The alternative model suggests considerable support for the attribution theory. Indeed, within a family, the actual opinions of parents appear to have little direct bearing on the child's orientations, except when the actual orientations are perceived and reinterpreted by the children. It is not what parents think, but what their children think they think that predicts their offsprings' attitudes.
