The Effects of Game User's Social Capital and Self-Construal on SNG Reuse Intention and Charge Item Purchasing Intention Through Behavioral Adaptation (게임 이용자의 사회자본과 자기해석이 행동적 적응을 통해 SNG재이용의도 및 유료아이템 구매의도에 미치는 영향)

  • Purpose Recently, with the enhancement of mobile technologies, people have formed various relationships and spreaded networks on social network service(SNS). In addition, although people make a decision based on the thoughts and emotions about self, there is little empirical research on social relations and self-construal of users in social network game (SNG). Design/methodology/approach This study was designed to examine the structural relationships among SNG users' social capital, self-construal, behavioral adaptation, SNG reuse intention and charged item purchasing intention. Findings The results from this study are as follow. First of all, the bonding social capital did not have a significant impact on behavioral adaptation to SNG, but bridging social capital had a positive impact on behavioral adaptation. Second, independent self-construal did not have a significant impact on behavioral adaptation to SNG, but interdependent self-construal had a positive impact on behavioral adaptation. Lastly, the behavioral adaptation to SNG had a positive impact reuse intention and charged item purchasing intention. Also, SNG reuse intention had a positive impact on charged item purchasing intention.

  • Social network services(SNS) including Twitter and Facebook are good resources to extract various issues like public interest, trend and topic. This paper proposes a method to extract query-related issues by calculating relatedness between terms in Twitter. As a term that frequently appears near query terms should be semantically related to a query, we calculate term relatedness in retrieved documents by summing proximity that is proportional to term frequency and inversely proportional to distance between words. Then terms, relatedness of which is bigger than threshold, are extracted as query-related issues, and our system shows those issues with a connected network. By analyzing single transitions in a connected network, compound words are easily obtained.

  • The purpose of this study is examining the differences of mobile SNS's service quality, which consists data quality and system quality, among the groups that are classified by commitment and customer loyalty. For the experimental analysis, the frequency analysis was performed for general characteristics of sample. The variables were selected by factor analysis that also prove the validity of variables. The value of Cronbach's alpha was calculated to check the reliability of variables. In addition, the group was determined by the both hierarchical and hierarchical cluster analysis, then ANOVA was performed to test the hypotheses that there are differences of mobile SNS's service quality, among the groups that are classified by commitment and customer loyalty. The results of this study support that there are differences among the groups toward mobile SNS's service quality and also shows the more commitment and loyalty group is the higher recognition of mobile SNS's service quality. Thus, the companies have to realize that mobile SNS is very important key factor to success in rapidly changing business environment. In conclusion, the companies implement different customized strategy for the different group and develop the contents and the applications to maximize the commitment and loyalty of for the mobile SNS users.

  • The aim of this research is to design and analyze a social network service model using mobile RFID based business card. This paper suggests how the behavior of exchanging business cards will be changed in ubiquitous environment and designs a social networking service model using a ubiquitous business card, which embeds a RFID tag. We describe the scenarios and analyze a role, value and potential benefits of participants of the u-SNS service model. For the proof of the superiority and the feasibility of our model, we compare it with its related researches and products based on the calculation of the benefits and costs of the alternatives.

  • In this paper, our goal is to investigate the influencing factors on the online-based interpersonal relationships formation of the SNS users. To achieve this, first, we collected the influencing factors on the online-based interpersonal relationships, conducted survey, and then we analyzed the data with the PLS(Partial Least Square) and structural equation. As a result, we verified the main cause of factors as personal, relational and environmental factors and 8 kinds of detailed factor as social attraction, physical attraction, informational post, reciprocality, similarity, contents quality, web appearance and perceived spatiality are the influencing factors on the online-based interpersonal relationships dimensions. Finally, these factors were proposed as the influencing factors on the online-based interpersonal relationships formation of the SNS users.

  • The purpose of this study is to provide statistical analysis based suggestions on effective methods to take advantage of social network service (SNS) for educational purposes based on investigations of undergraduate students with high utilization of SNS. To achieve this, we conducted an open questionnaire survey and qualitatively analyzed the data using NVivo 10 program. Additionally, to visualize the analysis by education subject of the SNS educational methods, we have divided the data into 3 categories of teacher, student and common area. As a result, our analysis showed that the exchange opinions and discussions, information sharing and learning of contents of questions and answers, surveys, intimacy formation, counseling etc. were of the common area. Furthermore, teacher area included the notice announcement, teaching materials sharing, real-time assessment (quiz), attendance check, assignment grading and feedback, etc. Finally the student area was of project activities (group/individual), prepare and review the shared data, video self learning, peer review and feedback of projects, lecture evaluation, etc.

  • More sales of food and beverage coupons have been made using SNS on social commerce recently. If one buys coupons on social commerce, he/she can enjoy products at a lower price; however, there are drawbacks that one must consider such as location, service hours, and discount rate. Thus, this paper suggests a system that recommends food and beverage coupons on social commerce for users that considers a user's personal context of location, time, and purchase history. In order to reflect a user's context awareness and continuous preference, this paper suggests a method based on the Bayesian network. In order to reflect personalized weighting on the standard of coupon selection to match a user's preference, a measurement and classification of weighting preferences is performed on the basis of AHP. 20 experiments in one month involving 12 students were carried out to verify the effectiveness of the system, resulting in an 80% satisfaction level.

  • With the rapid evolution of mobile devices and the development of wireless networks, users of mobile social network service on smartphone have been increasing. Also the security of personal information as a result of real-time communication and information-sharing are becoming a serious social issue. In this paper, a framework that can be linked with a social network services platform is designed using OpenAPI. In addition, we propose an authentication and detection mechanism to enhance the level of personal information security. The authentication scheme is based on an user ID and password, while the detection scheme analyzes user-designated input patterns to verify in advance whether personal information protection guidelines are met, enhancing the level of personal information security in a social network service environment. The effectiveness and validity of this study were confirmed through performance evaluations at the end.

  • As individual opinions are expressed and discussed through SNS, SNS is used as a new basis to estimate the direction of public opinion. This change also appears in election. So many voters state their views through SNS, so that candidates utilize it as a new space for communication. In this paper, positive mention in SNS were collected and analysed in the course of the election of Korean 20th Congressman, to understand how the mention on election in SNS affects the result of election. This result was compared with the traditional survey on public opinion, to find out which one more corresponds to the result. In conclusion, mention in SNS coincide more with the result of elelction than the traditional survey.

Differences in Depression and Impulsivity depending on Hours Spent on SNS among Korean Adolescents (SNS 이용시간에 따른 청소년의 우울 및 충동성 차이)

  • The present study sought to identify the differences in levels of depression and impulsivity depending on hours on SNS among Korean adolescents. Data for this study was collected from the responses of 1,008 of middle and high school students in Seoul in 2014. The upper 33%(N=364) and the lower 33%(N=319) of students who reported to spend lots of time on SNS were extracted from the total data to constitute two groups for analysis. The sample was analyzed utilizing SEM to compare depression and impulsivity levels of the upper group with those of the lower group while controlling for gender. In conclusion, there was a significant difference in level of depression and impulsivity between the two groups. The upper group that spent more time on SNS displayed higher levels of depression and impulsivity. The result of this study means that the more time the adolescents spend on SNS the more likely the adolescents are to be depressed and impulsive.
