Relevance between Marketing Route of Social Media and Consumer Age Group for Choosing Dental Clinics

  • Background: The purpose of the study was to evaluate the relationship and route of dental Social Media marketing by age group and support effective dental marketingy by age group. Methods: A study was conducted on 265 people, aged 20 to 64 years, who lived in Seoul, Gyeonggi area and regularly used one or more of the social media platforms, Naver Band, Facebook, Instagram, KakaoStory, Twitter, or YouTube more than once a day. A 27-question questionnaire survey of approximately 10 minutes was conducted, and the collected data was statistically analyzed using the PASW program, with the significane level set to 0.05. Results: "Introduction of acquaintances" was the most common route to visit the dentist. Regarding the use of social media platforms based on age group, 'Instagram' had the highest frequency among people belonging to the age groups of 20 to 29 years and 30 to 39 years; 'YouTube' had the highest frequency among those aged 40 to 49 years; and 'Naver Band' had the highest frequency among those aged 50 to 65 years. Conclusion: The most frequently used social media by consumers according to age included Facebook, YouTube, and Instagram. However, social media was found to have no significant impact on the choice of dental institutions, as the number of people who visited the dentist through "Introduction of acquaintances" was the highest, and "Introduction of acquaintances" did not have experience accessing the dentist site after dental marketing. If this study could provide customized marketing information for each age group through social media, it is expected that the marketing effect of dental institutions through social media would be maximized in the future.

  • Purpose: This study intends to analyze the effect of competitor pressure and customer pressure on social media technology use and the value of the business network and their implications for marketing performance. Research design, and methodology: A constructed questionnaire was conducted with 90 respondents of MSME's Business Actors in South Sulawesi Partial Least Square (PLS) analysis was applied to analyze and verify all the data. Results: Competitor pressure has a significant effect on social media technology, Competitor pressure has a positive and significant impact on business network accentuation. Customer pressure has a positive and significant impact on social media technology. Customer pressure has a positive and significant impact on business network accentuation. Social media technology utilization has a significant impact on Business Network Accentuation. Social media technology utilization has a significant effect on Marketing Performance. Business Network has a significant effect on Marketing Performance. Conclusions: It is an important thing for MSMEs to increase the use of social media technology to meet the demands of consumers and pressure from competitors. The use of social media technology must be implemented effectively and efficiently so that it can be utilized as an effective tool for distributing the value that own by a company to improve the company's marketing performance.

Experiments of Export marketing Using Social Media and Their Implications (소셜미디어를 이용한 수출마케팅 실험과 시사점 - 트위터와 페이스북을 중심으로 -)

  • In this study, several experiments were designed to test the effectiveness of social media in export marketing. In particular, the experiments were made using Twitter and Facebook. The results showed that users' interest were able to increase the effects combined with B2B and B2C marketing events. The B2C marketing events could be made by personal target Event, Poll event, guest comments and social commerce. The B2B marketing was performed using Page Manager, Affiliate page, building and affiliate marketing group. Special features of Facebook such as social plug-in, Twitter integration, and Photo Tagging were found effective. A couple of implications were found in this study. First, the link between social media channel system was key success factor in effective export marketing. Second, the corporate marketing mix and social media consistent with the marketing mix strategy, communication between the managers and the managers' competencies were obtained for the key success factors.

  • Social media has recently become one of the primary tools for viral marketing as an effective advertising channel, in order to maximize effects of world-of-mouth through social media, it is very important to obtain customer experience-centric differentiated contents in offline. However, viral marketing is still being implemented mainly based on online channels because of the lack of effective services and methods to support social medial marketing in conjunction with offline. On that account, this study proposes O2O(Online to Offline) based social media marketing method allowing customers to connect their personal experience conveniently and easily in offline in which they voluntarily participate. Furthermore, this study aims to verify the effectiveness of the proposed method by analyzing the empirical cases thereof. This study would eventually contribute to the vitalization of social media marketing market by enabling customers to obtain personalized posts as connecting online to offline organically and also by allowing corporations to get an ample amount of useful CRM information for planning marketing strategies.

  • This study explored the relationship between post types and linguistic characteristics in marketer-generated content and social media engagement to find the optimized content to enhance social media engagement level. Post data of 23,588 marketer-generated content were collected from 50 states' destination marketing organization Facebook pages in the United States. The collected data were analyzed by employing social media analytics, linguistic analysis, multivariate analysis of variance, and discriminant analysis. The results showed that there are significant differences in both engagement indicators and linguistic scores among the three post types. Based on research findings, this research not only provided researchers with theoretical implications but also suggested practitioners the most effective content designs for travel destination marketing in Facebook.

Acceptance of Social Media as a Marketing Tool : A Quantitative Study

  • Purpose - The purpose of current paper is to identify features of advertisements at social media that generate the ad-click and to further identify if these advertisements lead to purchase. If no purchase is made, then reasons for not making purchase are identified. Users' purchase experience after users clicked at advertisements are also studied. Research design, data, and methodology - Research design followed is exploratory research, where various factors leading to ad-clicks and generating purchase at social media platform were explored. Raw data was gathered by means of survey among a sample of 185 respondents in India using online structured questionnaire. GLM model and multinomial regression were used to analyze the data. Results - Several factors including endorsement by friends, advertisement aesthetics, product reviews, and aggressive pricing played major role in generating ad-clicks. Major impediment to purchase on were product misrepresentation in advertisement, false discounts, and site security. Female users clicked more on social media advertisements and made more purchases compared to their male counterpart. Conclusions - Social media advertisements have significant positive effect on buying behavior of online customers. Transactions culminating from social media ad-click generated significant positive experience for social media users. Thus, social media can be effective marketing tool.

  • The implementation of physical or social distancing during the Covid-19 pandemic has an implication on the shifting of conventional to online business activities. This study aims to explore how financial support, perceived benefits, external pressure determine social media marketing as well as understanding the role of internet and e-business technology (IEBT) that occurs in this relationship. This study adopted a quantitative study with Structural Equation Modeling (SEM)-based variance Partial Least Square (PLS), which aims to enhance understanding of the relationship between variables. The surveyed population of this study came from 123 small- and medium-sized enterprise (SME) owners in East Java of Indonesia, using an online survey and selected with the convenience random sampling method. The findings of this study indicated that the perceived benefits and external pressure have a positive effect on the adoption of IEBT. However, financial support failed in explaining SMEs' adoption of IEBT. This study confirmed that the adoption of IEBT has successfully mediated the influence of financial support, perceived benefits, and external pressure on social media marketing. Despite the samples solely collected from East Java, this study is the first step in research related to the social media marketing in SMEs in Indonesia.

  • The interest on the Open Source Software(OSS) has been increasing as the Microsoft's latest Windows XP support ended. In this light trend, this study can contribute to the OSS marketing area. Specifically, it examined that the activation of online brand community about the OSS can affect to prosumer marketing of the OSS utilizing social media platform. In addition, the OSS social media platform users' loyalty for the OSS was investigated. The findings show that content, consumer support, UI, and reward among the activate factors of online brand community significantly affected to the activation of OSS social media platform. The brand reputation, however, was found insignificant to the activation of OSS social media platform. In addition, the activation of OSS social media platform can positively affect to their loyalty for the OSS. It means that participation to the social media activities about OSS and interaction with others in the network can help to form positive attitude for the OSS. In conclusion, the prosumer marketing utilizing social platform can be an important strategy as a new solution of the OSS business in the rapidly changing ICT ecosystem environment.

  • Social media marketing should be approached in a different way from traditional media marketing. This study uses a theoritical and empirical method to analyze what impact social media's key elements - provide information, interactivity and playfulness - have on corporate performance and awareness. As a result, the increase in the level of provide information, and the level of interactivity turned out to have positive impact on corporate performance and awareness. To improve the impact of social media on corporate performance, it is better to use it more extensively for customer management and marketing, rather than simply focusing on a specific part of social media. In conclusion, it is important to have a better understanding of the key elements of social media in order to improve corporate performance and image. In a situation where senior firms are increasingly adopting social media, it is increasingly important to have social media-related PR marketing subject included in senior education.

Gift Sharing on Social Media: What Drives It?

  • This study examines factors influencing gift sharing on social media. An online survey gathered data from American adults. It investigates how motivations for social media content posting, gift attributes, giver characteristics, and recipient reactions affect gift-sharing behavior. Findings show self-expression motives in content posting drive sharing, while social interaction motives do not. Gifts perceived as experiential and expensive are more likely to be shared. Recipient-centric gifts positively influence gift sharing, while giver-centric gifts hinder sharing. Attitude towards the gift predicts sharing, while appreciation does not. The study enhances understanding of gift sharing on social media and offers marketing insights for leveraging this behavior.
