The purpose of this study is to research the investment environment of Vietnam and analyze the actual investment state of Korean enterprises in Vietnam and seek for the points at issue. In general, the investment environment in Vietnam shows both a positive side and negative side. However Vietnamese market is a attractive one as ever for direct investment of Korean enterprises considering their constant economy growth, investment increase of foreign company for Vietnam, China risk. And the point at issue in investment of Korean Enterprises is as follows. That is, inclining to manufacturing, preference of independence investment, small-sized investment by small and medium enterprises, preference of greenfield investment, restricted purpose of investment, insufficiency of infrastructure for logistics, electric power, legal system. The results of the study indicate mainly that the investment of Korean enterprise into Vietnam needs a switchover of the third service trade-tertiary industry, collaboration with Vietnamese enterprise through joint venture investment, a large-scale investment for Vietnam domestic market and neighboring countries' market, practical use of M&A with existing Vietnamese enterprise and diverse purpose for investment.

The purpose of this study is to investigate the Chinese investment environment and analyze the actual investment condition of Korean enterprises in China and examine the points at issue. In general, the investment environment in China shows satisfactory progress. China has a multiple and regional extension policy in investment. And the environment for investment changes to insufficiency of company profit, extension of service market, maintenance of legislative system, and insufficiency of preference about foreign company. There are situations of inclining to manufacturing, inclining of region, preference of independence investment, small-sized investment by small and medium enterprises, difficulty of financial assistance, excess of logistic cost, delay of logistic term, difficulty of settlement of legal dispute and difficulty of taking a relative information in investment of Korean enterprise in China. The results of the study indicate mostly that the investment of Korean enterprise into China needs turnover of service trade-tertiary industry, portfolio of investment territory, cooperation with Chinese enterprise through joint venture investment and a large-scale investment for extension of Chinese domestic market.

Recently, the collaboration among small and medium-sized enterprises(SMEs) has been recognized as an effective competitive tool. As several systems have been developed to boost the collaboration, it is necessary to analyze the effectiveness of the systems in terms of their contribution to enhance operational performance of SMEs through objective and quantitative validation. In particular, the analysis for SMEs rather than large-scaled enterprises has not received much attention due to lack of relevant information and difficulty of collecting data. This paper presents a framework for analyzing the effectiveness of the collaboration support system, called i-manufacturing hub, which has been implemented by Korean government. Identification of influential factors to the effectiveness of collaboration hub, and constructing necessary hypotheses are proposed. To overcome the difficulty in data collection only by means of surveys through subjective questionnaires, we exploit system log data that are generated while SMEs use the system. As an initial phase to analyze the effectiveness through hypothesis validation, we discuss several interesting observations and challenges in the direction of enhancing collaboration among SMEs for better operational performance improvement and more participation in the collaboration hub.

Recently, an ERP (Enterprise resource Planning) system has been becoming an essential S/W tool for companies to manage their business processes and manufacturing resources. As the information exchange becomes more complex, not only corporate companies but also small- and mid- sized enterprises (SMEs) are required to build an ERP system. However, for small- and middle- sized companies, the adoption of ERP systems becomes challenging due to high cost and long installation time of the system. This paper presents a novel concept of an adaptive ERP system incorporating the ontology structure of the business supply chain information. The proposed ERP installation methodology is illustrated with an example of a door-trim manufacturing company in the automotive supply chain.

This study conducted two surveys to establish an educational system to prevent work-related musculoskeletal disorders. The first survey investigates the factors influencing the recognition of job specifications for risk factor analysts of work-related musculoskeletal disorders. The respondents of the first survey were selected from 173 different small-sized manufacturing enterprises having less than 300 workers and had experienced the inspection of risk factors. The results of the first survey shows that better recognition of job specifications are followed by the increase of education time, but regardless of the positions and periods of job experience. Among the respondents with a high level recognition, the second survey was conducted. According to the results, it is presented that 2, 8, 16 hours are the most suitable for educating workers, superintendents, and risk factors analysts. Based on the results of the second survey, educational contents have also been suggested. This research will provide the basic information when forming education systems to prevent musculoskeletal disorders.

In the Globalization of the business environment and the rapid technological development, the technology and intelligence are important advantages for the lack of funding SMEs, For management innovation and strengthen the competitiveness of enterprises, the information is the most efficient and powerful management tool. As a result, most of the medium-sized manufacturing firms introduction of the ERP system in order to promote the informatization. However, in reality, there are not much cases which show the tangible achievements by introduction of the ERP system. Therefore, this study searches on the Construction plan of Information Management System of the domestic small and medium manufacturing enterprises. Based on established construction method strategy Information management System apply to domestic small and medium sized manufacturing companies. In particular, information management system, that strategy was applied by considering the characteristics of SMEs and manufacturing enterprises.

It was legislated in Korea that the small-sized enterprise with fewer than 50 employees should appoint at least one managing officer in order to improve safety and health of the employees since 2016. Study on the effectiveness of this legislation is hardly found, however. This study tried to evaluate effectiveness of the regulations for appointing the safety and health management officer in small-sized manufacturing companies and make suggestions to improve it. It was done by pairwise comparison between the level of safety and health achievement of 52 companies before and after the legislation. A scorecard system and questionnaires were devised for assessing the level of safety and health achievement and surveying awareness and practice of the regulation in the field. Results from quantitative and qualitative analyses performed in the study confirm that the safety and health achievement score has increased significantly after appointing the managing officer. It is also revealed that the lack of expertise and motivation of the appointed officer would yield pointless outcomes. Recommendations to make it better the effectiveness of the regulation are: to administrate requirements more strictly to be appointed as a safety and health management officer, to revise the curriculum to train the expertise of the appointed officers, and to expand financial support of the government to settle the safety and health management system.

The rate of industrial accident reduction is slowing down as the attention of the Ministry of Employment and Labor and related agencies on risk assessment systems decreased. this paper focuses on weakness of legal system for the risk assessment in recent years. A survey was conducted to identify the status and condition of the risk assessment system applying on small and medium-sized manufacturing companies. A set of questionnaires is designed to reflect various perspectives of the companies regarding the problems and solutions of the system. The results refer that differentiated instructions and support systems in response to the actual conditions of the companies are mandatory to reinforce the efficiency of risk assessment system.

In the shipbuilding and marine industry, digital transformation activities are promoted primarily by large shipyards. However, bottlenecks are observed across value chains, and digital transformation effects are reducing because of the cost and technical challenges encountered by supplies. In this study, we proposed a win-win cooperation model for large, small, and medium-sized companies using digital transformation based on the characteristics of the shipbuilding and marine industry through case studies. We investigated the digital transformation progress in German and Korean small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs). In addition, we identified information-sharing methods and management challenges encountered in enterprise resource planning and manufacturing execution systems in the collaboration process of pipes, panels, blocks, etc. of SMEs that are suppliers of a Korean shipyard, and clarified communication by building a platform based on a common format between shipyards and suppliers. Further, we proposed a standard model of a digital transformation system for enhancing the collaboration between large companies and suppliers and proposed a basic plan including strategies to efficiently and effectively build a digital transformation system based on the standard model.

Purpose: The purpose of this study was to analyze effects of cardiovascular disease prevention in small scale enterprise using community-based approach. Method: The target work site included 4,050 small scale enterprises which were under 50 in non-manufacturing workplace and total 20,986 employees were enrolled. Data collection was conducted from March to December, 2008 by 46 occupational health nurses who were registered in Korean Association of Occupational Health Nurses. Results: The rate of smoking was decreased from 39.9% to 34.6%, and normal BMI group was increased from 61.6% to 64.0%. Evaluation of post-intervention blood pressure(BP) outcomes revealed that significant reductions in systolic BP and diastolic BP(3.25mmHg and 1.89mmHg, respectively) were achieved. In addition, the amount of reduction in total cholesterol level was $180.89{\pm}28.22mg/dL$ at pre-ntervention and $177.71{\pm}24.73mg/dL$ at post-intervention. Conclusion: Cardiovascular prevention program by community-based approach was an effective strategy for quitting smoking and improving BMI, BP, and cholesterol control.
