Prospective to Small Group Activities of Corporate in Korea (기업내에서의 소집단활동의 새 방향)

  • The small group activities (SGA) was introduced into some of enterprises in Korea in 1967 and plant division, Saemaul undong Headquarters had encouraged Quality Control Circles (QCC) within the manufacturing corporations in assistance of central government. Registered small groups as of august 31, 1984 amounted up to 78,243 units and the number of members were 791,512. Meanwhile, small and medium industries have mostly introduced small group activities considerably later and less actively managed than large business. Main reasons for the less effectiveness of the activities are due to lack of management skills and less awareness of it from management and workers group. Effective small group activities are presumed to be successful only with labor management cooperation on the basis of human-oriented management philosophy. The small group activities are also prevalent in service sector. More derivative methods have been developed and more members are willingly participating in training programs. The small group which is basically a horizontal organization unit, promotes communication within the whole organization. In consideration of the social circumstances and traditions, the flexible model of the small group activities suitable to the corporate environment, will contribute to industrial development.

  • In korea, since November 1982 these two small group activity (QC circle convension and Factory Saemaul activity small group convension) has been united, many problems have been disclosed that are aganist the basic principle more or less. Worker's small group within their working place to improve the surroundings creatively. In practice, however, many group are so typical and impetuous of the material effect that it is worried to be inclined to outform rather than contents.   • The first national QC Circle Convention sponsored by Industry Advancement Administration in 1975 was the beginning of employees group activity from a national point view. Subsequently some events such as the first nationwide Factory Seamaul activity small Group Convention, which was supervised by the ministry of Trading and Industry and Factory Seamanulundong promotion Center, paved the way for proliferation of the group activity through all kinds of manufacturing. Although since November 1982 these two conventions has been united, many problem have been disclosed that are against the basic principle more or less.   • This study is about to prove one factor among many ones that contribute to the formation of the Japanese Garden's pattren. It is believed by this study that distinguished Japanese Garden's pattren are made possible by an organized ability of the japaneses traditional landscape artists who had ability to develope a diversified forms of applications within the organized framework. To verify this assumption, the study has chosen Ryu Gen In, temple garden that is considered to determine the pattren of Japanese Garden best with a new concept ; Organization. The results of this analysis show as follows : 1. Ryu Gen In, consists of a series of building and five-small gardens, is largely organized by the union of two geometric formations : concave and convex. Each garden as a sub-organization is further organixed with a series of tree-branch typed structure. 2. The five-small gardens are formed jinto a whole system by connecting each one with floor. This connection makes a timely organization. 3. Each small garden is further organized alloted roles, namely, depends upon whether they play a major or minor role. 4. It is believed that sands and moss play a cotrolling role to conbine the elements into one within each unit of small garden. 5. It is found that figured sands, moss, sands and moss, or shrubs are used as means of organization to connect the small group elements within each small gardens. 6. It is considered that buildings and mud-walls are used as means of separation between Ryu Gen In and an outer world, and betwen small gardens.

  • Global conglomerates in the late 2010s are seeking changes from the existing method of financial growth into that of sustainable growth, as they are facing the age of 4th industrial revolution. In preparation for this change of the times and to stay competitive, small businesses are required to produce creative knowledge, and systematically share and store it by means of implementing voluntary and specific changes in their convictions and actions. This study aims to empirically examine how the ICT small businesses' organizational learning participants' self-leadership affect their job satisfaction through organization orientation and Leader-Member Exchange(LMX). The research sample consists of the first to third-year employees that have previously participated in the small businesses' organizational learning support project, and of learning leaders, group leaders, and group members from companies that have previously concluded the project. The results are as follows: First, the self-leadership at the ICT small businesses' organizational learning project has been shown to have a positive effect on job satisfaction. The same positive results are shown in learning orientation and LMX. Second, the learning orientation has been shown to have a positive effect on job satisfaction. Third, the LMX has been shown to have a positive effect on job satisfaction.

  • This study examined the communication and conflict between ship prganization and ship management team. Those are measured and analyzed about both groups, and then the relationships would be investigated objectively and synthetically. Especially, this relationships are enlightened by measuring the level and gap of the communication and group conflict between ship organization and ship management team. The effect of that conflict is analyzed on the organization commitment and job satisfaction of ship organizations. As a result, this study demonstrates the communications have a negative influence on group conflict with statistic significance, also the conflicts effect negatively on the organization commitment and job satisfaction. In the analysis of gaps about the communication and conflict between groups, the level of group conflict is lowest in the group whose gap of communication is small and both communications are activated, and the organization commitment and job satisfaction are highest in the group whose gap of group conflicts is small and both level of the conflicts are low. To conclude, the ship organization and ship management teams in the shipping company have to lessen their conflict each other and heighten the organization commitment and job satisfaction through their smooth communication.

  • The purpose of this study is to categorize group of firms by using characteristics of technical innovation in telecommunication industry and to identify relationships between types of technical innovation and such contingency factors of technical innovation. The major findings of this study are summarized as follows; First, Type 1 Group (Innovative Industry Leading Group) tends to use innovative and market differentiation strategy and has more innovative C.E.O's management style and innovative culture. Second, Type 2 Group (Dependent Group on Market Change) tends to use market differentiation or cost leadership strategy and has a more conservative C.E.O's management style and non-innovative culture. Third, Type 3 Group (Small Technology Intensive Group) tends to use focused innovative strategy and has a more innovative C.E.O's management style and innovative culture. Fourth, Type 4 Group (Non-Innovative Group) tends to use focused cost leadership strategy and has a more conservative C.E.O's management style and non-innovative culture.

  • The purpose of the study was to investigate the relationship between the communication status in group and the semantic network of science gifted students. Seven small groups, 5 members in each, participated in small group activities, in which they discussed the calculation of earth density. Both the communication status in group and the semantic network of science gifted students were analyzed using KrKwic, Ucinet 6.0 for Windows. As a result, the semantic network of prime movers in group represented more frequently used words, lesser rate of component, and higher density than that of out lookers. It means that the prime movers have coherent knowledge compared to out lookers, and they output more knowledge for problem solving than out lookers. Therefore, the results of this study may be applied to evaluating the cognitive level of science gifted students and group organization for small group activity.
