원심형 임펠러에 대한 이구역 모델링 (Two-Zone Modeling for Centrifugal Impellers)

  • This paper presents a systematic two-zone modeling for reliable performance prediction of centrifugal compressors. In order to improve the predictive capability, a modified jet slip factor is developed and new corrections for the wake flow deviation and mass fraction are suggested based on the comprehensive experimental data of the three Eckardt impellers. The proposed two-zone modeling is tested against nine sets of measured data of centrifugal compressors. The results are also compared with those obtained by the mean streamline analysis. It was found that the predictions by the present two-zone modeling agree fairly well with experimental data for a variety of centrifugal compressors over the wide operating conditions.

  • In case of the limitation of Deep RIE fabrication far Micro Gas Turbine, bearing aspect ratio is limited in very small value. The characteristics such as pressure distribution, load capacity and non-linearity of a short bearing of L/D=0.083 and a conventional bearing of L/D=1.0 with coupled boundary effects are investigated for Micro Gas Turbine bearings. The coupled effect was analyzed by mass conservation at coupled end area. The results, increasing load capacity and non-linearity due to the coupled effect of thrust and journal bearing, are obtained and the selection of journal bearing type is discussed.

익렬 날개 후단소음의 저감 (Trailing Edge Noise Modification in a Blade Cascade)

  • It is addressed that the turbulent broadband sound power from a sirocco fan can be modeled by the trailing edge noise. The trailing edge noise is usually influenced by inflow turbulence, separation, and boundary layer thickness on the blade. The design parameters such as solidity (c/s) and stagger angle are specified to predict performance and noise level because the separation and slip velocity are strongly affected by them along with the flow coefficient. This paper reports the effects of the stagger angle upon the trailing edge noise for various trailing edge shapes. It is believed that the serrated trailing edge provides break-up mechanism for organized convecting vortices, thereby reduce the overall noise level for every case of stagger angle.

  • For the Mach reflection of symmetric shock waves, only the wave configuration of an oMR(DiMR+DiMR) is theoretically admissible. For asymmetric shock waves, an oMR(DiMR+InMR) will be possible if the two slip layers assemble a convergent-divergent stream tube while an oMR(InMR+InMR) is absolutely impossible. In this paper, an overall Mach reflection configuration with double inverse MR patterns is confirmed using the CFD technique. Classical two- and three-shock theories are also applied for the theoretical analysis. In addition, oscillations of shock wave patterns are computed for the interaction of a hypersonic flow and double-wedge-like geometries.

전 속도영역 유동을 위한 비정렬격자 압력기반해법 (Unstructured Pressure Based Method for All Speed Flows)

  • This article proposes a pressure based method for predicting flows at all speeds. The compressible SIMPLE algorithm is extended to unstructured grid framework. Convection terms are discretized using second-order scheme with deferred correction approach. Diffusion term discretization is based on structured grid analogy that can be easily adopted to hybrid unstructured grid solver. This method also uses node centered scheme with edge based data structure for memory and computing time efficiency of arbitrary grid types. Both incompressible and compressible benchmark problems are solved using the above methodology. The demonstration of this method is extended to slip flow problem that has low Reynolds number but compressibility effect. It is shown that the proposed method can improve efficiency in memory usage and computing time without losing any accuracy.

Shearing Conditions on the Interface of a Spherical Water Drop Sinking in Silicone Oil

  • This paper deals with the experiment to obtain quantitative information about conditions of the interface between a water drop and surrounding oil. Velocity distributions in very close region of the interface are measured by introducing a new illumination technique and a telecentric lens. It enables precise measurements of velocity distributions in the close region to the interface. Although the measured velocity distributions exhibit strong influence from the solid wall of an experimental tube, the coincidence of inner and outside velocities on the interface is clearly confirmed for the clean interface. The shearing stresses on the interface, which are proportional to the velocity gradient normal to the interface, clearly show conditions of contaminated interface, which can be divided into two parts. From front stagnation point to somewhere near a separation point, the distribution of shearing stresses is well coincide with that of the Hadamard's analytical solution, while the distribution on the latter part of the interface sows quite different feature, which is supposed to be strongly influenced by contamination of the surface.

  • In recent years, compression molding of long fiber-reinforced thermoplastics has been increased in commercial aspects. In the process of compression molding of composites, the flow analysis must be developed in order to accurately predict the finished part properties as a function of the molding process parameters. In this model FRTP is assumed to be nonisothermal fluid, which has different viscosities in extensional and in shear. For verification of the model, the formation of a knit line in the L-shaped parts is compared with that of experiments results. In this paper we will discuss the effects of extensional & shear viscosity ratio and slip parameter $\alpha$ on the other modle fill-ing parameters.

반경류 터보기계 회전차 내의 비점성 유동해석 및 성능예측 (Calculation of Inviscid Flows and Performance Prediction of Radial Turbomachine)

  • Inviscid flows in a radial turbomachine and its performance are predicted by using a pannel method. Possibility of the method to be used for design purpose is investigated. The flows in a radial turbomachine are reasonably simulated with several off-design flow rates. The diameter ratio of the rotor and inlet and outlet vane angles are systematically changed so that performance of the machine in various designs are predicted. All the predictions are shown to be in the range of Cordier curve. On the other hand, calculated slip factors are also in good agreement with values given by an empirical formula.

원심 터보홴 설계용 프로그램의 개발 및 응용에 대한 연구 (A Study on the Development and Application of a Design Program for Centrifugal Turbo Fan)

  • This paper introduces the design method of the centrifugal turbo fan and the process of developing the design program of it. The developed design program confirmed the applicability by experimental performance data. Here, we proposed new velocity coefficients and considered various losses such as impeller inlet loss, vane passage flow loss, casing pressure loss, recirculation loss power, and disk friction loss power. Especially, the inlet and outlet widths of the impeller were newly determined by reflecting the experimental results. As a result, this fan design program shows a good performance result regardless of the types of impeller and is expected to be a very useful design tool.
