  • Conditions are discussed for operating a dissymmetric human master-small (or micro) slave system in best (large position gain-small velocity gain) conditions allowing higher operator dexterity when real effects (joint compliance, link flexion delay and transmission distortion) are taken into account. It is shown that position PD feedback law advantage for ideal case no longer holds, and that more complicated feedback law depending on real effects has to be implemented with adapted transmission line. Drawback is slowdown of master slave interaction, suggesting to use more advanced predictive methods for the master and more intelligent control law for the slave.

  • In master-slave teleoperating system, it is important that the system has good maneuverability. In this paper, it is addressed an adaptive learning control method applicable to the master-slave system. This control scheme has the ability to estimate uncertain dynamic parameters included intrinsically in the system and to achieve the desired performance without the nasty matrix operation. The proposed method is applied to a master-slave teleoperating system composed of two SCARA robots and verified experimentally.

  • The objective of this paper is to design a force feedback controller for bilateral control of a master-slave manipulator system. In a bilateral control system, the motion of the master device is followed by the slave one, while the force applied to the slave is reflected on the master. In this paper, a fuzzy logic controllers applied to the system. Using the fuzzy logic controller, the knowledge of the system dynamics is not needed. Simulations and experimental results show the performance of the proposed controller.

  • A master-slave system is proposed as a teaching device for a dual arm robot. The slave robots are remotely controlled by two delta-type master arms. In order to help the operator to observe the target object from the desired position and desired direction, cameras are mounted on a specialized manipulator, Movements of two slave arms are coordinated with that of the cameras. Due to this coordinated movements, the operator needs not to care the geometrical relation between the cameras and the slave robots.

  • This thesis explains the development of multiple LCD system with the additional function to maximize the utilization of PC contents. The newly developed system is composed of host LCD and slave LCD. Host LCD decodes and outputs the image and voice of NTSC, PAL, SECAM signals. It also converts the decoded signals into LVDS signals before transmitting them to slave LCD stage. In addition, the installation of CF Memory and USB Memory helps display multi-media data. Unlike the host LCD, since not including the tuner and memory part, the slave LCD can't receive TV signals and play video signals. It only has the function to receive LVDS image signals and display on a LCD panel. This newly developed multi-LCD system has competitiveness in various aspects. With its simple structure, the failure rate, price and display power are relatively low due to its simplification of the control part. It has price and functional competitiveness as the product whose host LCD can control the entire slave LCD in terms of channel, volume, and video output.

  • Location Positioning is a major technology for ubiquitous computing. Recently the research on Location Positioning using UWB is on going. In order to construct an in-door location network, synchronization of base stations is very important. NTP is Popularly used as clock synchronization protocol ranging from LAN to WAN. Also Master-Slave scheme is the simplest method to synchronize in-door network. We compare and analyze NTP and Master-Slave schemes according to the statistical channel model for indoor multipath propagation environment. In this paper, error ranges are calculated at various circumstances that in-door network expands from one primary base station into several base stations. We compared the correctness of NTP and Master-Slave synchronization methods. NTP is more reasonable synchronization protocol in in-door environment.

  • USB bus not only works with convenience but also transmits data fast and becomes a standard peripheral interface between FPGA development board and personal computer. In this paper FPGA verification system with slave FIFO interface for Cypress FX3 USB 3 bridge chip was implemented. The designed slave FIFO interface consists of host interface module based on FIFO structure, master bus controller and command decoder and supports streaming communication interface for FX3 bridge chip and memory-mapped input and output interface for user design circuit. The ZestSC3 board with Cypress FX3 USB 3 bridge chip and Xilinx Artix FPGA(XC7A35T-1C5G3241) was used to implement FPGA verification system. It was verified that the FPGA verification system for user design circuit operated correctly under various clock frequencies using GUI software developed by visual C# and C++ DLL. The designed slave FIFO interface for FPGA verification system has modular structure and can be applicable to the different user designs with memory-mapped I/O interface.

  • One of the advantages of master-slave teleoperation is scaling concept such as position scaling, force scaling Meanuhile, lots of quantization effects are generated from position and force sensors in the master and slave manipulator. In this paper, to show the output error caused by the quantizaion effects from the position sensor and position scaling factor, simulation is done for free motion without contact in slave side. Transfer functiion model in which the quantization effect is assumed to be a disturbance input to the system is derived. Model shows that Jacobian, scaling factors, and controller affect the output by quantization effects form esnsors. One dof master and slave are used for simulation. In our study, the higher sensor resolution decreases the output error form quantization. Scaling factors can amplify the quantizatiion effects form the sensors in master and slave manipulators.

  • In this paper. we offer a new monitoring system that controls all of the windfar. it can also apply use general wind turbine systems and real meteorological tower. We propose a hierarchical releiable monitoring system connected by wireless communication channels between monitoring host computer and modular slave measuring subsystems. Our system has two hierarchical subsystems: slave measuring systems, and supervisory host computer. We design and implement that the slave measuring subsystems is placed in meteorological tower and wind turbines, and the supervisory host computer in safety zone, The micro-controller in slave measuring system is duplicated using cold-standby method for reliability. The host computer and slave system constructs a feedback system, with wireless communication channel between them. For monitoring and command function, the supervisory computer is implemented with a Personal Computer using graphic user interface. Consequently. we can get a reliable but economic system.

  • This paper presents a self-sustaining system, and an effective method in enhancing overall energy efficiency. The proposed system consists of the two major nodes: a slave node, which contains the environment information (e.g., temperature, humidity, etc.); and a master node, which communicates with the slave nodes, and transmit the slave node's information to users. All slave nodes are under control of the master node. Each slave node uses two power sources: the piezoelectric power generator (PPG); and the continuous wave from the master node. The paper highlights the basic operational principle, each node's specifications, and experimental data for performance verification. The two nodes successfully communicate each other in a range of 3.3m (maximal range), where the user's computer is wired the master node.
