  • An important use of data warehousing is to provide temporal views over the history of source data. It is significant that nearly all data warehouses are dependent on relational database technology, yet relational databases provide little or no real support for temporal data. Therefore, in is difficult to obtain accurate information for time-varying data. In this paper, we are going to design a temporal data warehouse to support time-varying data efficiently. For this purpose, we present a method to support temporal query by combining a temporal query process layer with the relational database which is used as a source database in an existing data warehouse. We introduce the Temporal Aggregate Tree Strategy (TATS), and suggest its algorithm for the way to aggregate the time-varying data that is changed by the time when the temporal view is created. In addition, The TATS and the materialized view creation method of the existing data warehouse have been evaluated. As a result, the TATS reduces the size of the fact table and it shows a good performance for the comparison factor in case of processing the query for time-varying data.

  • The rubblization technique is breaking the aged concrete pavement slab into rubblized concrete aggregate, and use it as an base material at its original position, then builds overlay above the rubblized base. This method has been successively used in USA due to the advantage of good constructibility, cost-effectiveness as well as the capability of preventing of reflection cracks. However, constructibility and economic performance of rubblization on typical Korean concrete pavements needed to be investigate since to typical Korean concrete pavements have thick slab, as well include lean concrete subbase course. Multi-head type breaker suitable for Korean condition was designed and developed. This multi-head type breaker was designed to rubblize old concrete to the suggested optimum rubblized-depth and rubblized-concrete-aggregate size to prevent reflection crack and maintain high bearing capacity. This machine was used for the test of rubblization of old concrete pavement on a non-use old concrete and a in-serviced road. In these two tests, engineering properties of rubblized base and constructability and cost were investigated. In both tests, the old concrete rubblized to targeted size and depth, and high-level bearing capacity was achieved. Also, superior constructability and lower cost compared with traditional reconstruction was examined.

  • The waste sludge is by-produced about 20-30% of total production and arised to the severe problems of this mine's surrounding environmnet. This study was invested the composition of component, particle of size of the waste sludge by Chemical Analysis, X, R, D, Particle Size Analyzer and the physical properties (air content, slump, strength, etc) of concrete when the waste sludge is added into concrete. so, It's recomended the proper content of the waste sludge to be added into concrete. and then, is verified to be applied at batch plant in field. Above the results, the recomeded content of the waste sludge is about 2-4% (about 4-8% in cement) in aggregates and when it's added the recomended content, they are detected to be more or less changed the physical properties of concrete, ( equally strength and durability, little less air con tent, little increased shinkage, etc). but the application of the recomended content don't arise the problem of the basic quality control of concrete and physical properties.

  • The development of polymer/inorganic nanocomposites has attracted a great deal of interest due to the improved hybrid properties derived from the two different components. Various nanoscale fillers have been used to enhance polymer mechanical and thermal properties, such as toughness, stiffness, and heat resistance. The effects of the filler on the final properties of the nanocomposites are highly dependent on the filler shape, particle size, aggregate size, surface characteristics, polymer/inorganic interactions, and degree of dispersion. In this paper, we describe the influence of different $CaCO_3$ dispersion methods on the thermal properties of polyethylene terephthalate (PET)/$CaCO_3$ composites: i.e., the adsorption of $CaCO_3$ on the modified PET surface, and the hydrophobic modification of the hydrophilic $CaCO_3$ surface. We prepared PET/$CaCO_3$ nanocomposites using a twin-screw extruder, and investigated their thermal properties and morphology.

  • Three kinds of mouse tumor necrosis factor (TNF), which have molecular weights of 35 kDa, 45 kDa, and 18 kDa on SDS-PAGE, were partially purified from serum-free culture supernatants of mouse peritoneal macrophages induced with lipopolysaccharide. Analysis of the native molecular weights by gel filtration indicated that the 18 kDa and 45 kDa TNFs aggregate into 50 kDa and 100 kDa molecules, respectively, while the 35 kDa TNF is contained in high molecular weight aggregates of approximately 200 kDa. The three kinds of cytotoxic factors all elicited tumor reducing responses.

  • We demonstrate the methodology of engineering the multi-component ceramic nanopowder with precise morphology by nanoblast calcinations decomposition of preliminary engineered nanoreactors. Multiple explosions of just melted $C_3H_6N_6O_6$ embedded into preliminary engineered nanoreactors break apart the agglomerates due to the highly energetic impacts of the blast waves. Also, the solid-solubility of one component into the other is enhanced by the extremely high local temperature generated during each nano-explosion in surrounding area. This methodology was applied for production of agglomeratefree nano-aggregates of $Gd_{20}Ce_{80}O_{1.95}$ with an average size of 42 nm and $LaSrGaMgO_{3-x}$ nanopowder with an average aggregate size of 83 nm.

  • This study investigates and analyzes the amount and shape of the front waist dart of the bodice and investigates the dart division method by bust size. Measurements at 5 arm positions were taken from 15 subjects. Clothing tests were given to 6 of the subjects. The conclusions were as follows: 1) Front Body surface changes were occurred around armpit and they were caused by the wrinkles of the armpit 2) The curved dart line was more appropriate for use with C cup, the large bust body, than the linear line. The changes of the dart amount at arm movements had different types by bust size. 3) Patterns for A & C cup body were adequate to divide the dart amount by 3 darts such as under the B.P., under the anterior armpit and side line, or to aggregate to 1 dart under the B.P. For the B cup body, however, the suitable pattern to use was the total dart amount divided by 1~2 darts and decreasing the waist line at the side line should be avoided.

  • Fluorescence and dynamic light scattering measurements were applied to the study of formation and structure of aggregated colloidal particles in modified poly(ethylene-co-methylacrylate) ionomers in aqueous solution. Both 8-anillino-l-naphthalene-sulfonic acid (ANS) and pyrene were used as fluorescence probe to obtain the information on the structure of particle surface and inside, respectively. Three different ionomers used in this study started to aggregate at very dilute concentration, 3-8 x 10-6 g/mL. In this study, we demonstrate that the polyethylene ionomers can form stable nanoparticles. The hydrophobic core made of the polyethylene backbone chains is stabilized by the ionic groups on the particle surface. Such a formed stable nanoparticles have a relatively narrow size distribution with an average radius in the range of 27-48 nm, depending on the kind of ionic groups. Once the stable particles are formed, the particle size distributions were nearly constant. This study shows another way to prepare surfactant-free polyethylene nanoparticles.

  • The IEEE 802.11 WLAN adopts a random backoff algorithm for its collision avoidance mechanism, and it is well known that the contention-based algorithm may suffer from performance degradation especially in congested networks. In this paper, we design an efficient backoff algorithm that utilizes a reinforcement learning method to determine optimal values of backoffs. The mobile nodes share a common contention window (CW) in our scheme, and using a Q-learning algorithm, they can avoid collisions by finding and implicitly reserving their optimal time slot(s). In addition, we introduce Frame Size Control (FSC) algorithm to minimize the possible degradation of aggregate throughput when the number of nodes exceeds the CW size. Our simulation shows that the proposed backoff algorithm with FSC method outperforms the 802.11 protocol regardless of the traffic conditions, and an analytical modeling proves that our mechanism has a unique operating point that is fair and stable.
