A Control Strategy to Obtain Sinusoidal Input Currents of Matrix Converter under Unbalanced Input Voltages

  • This paper presents a control strategy to achieve the balanced sinusoidal output currents, as well as sinusoidal input currents for the matrix converter (MC) under unbalanced input voltages. By regulating the modulation index of the converter according to the instantaneous input voltages, the output currents are kept balanced and sinusoidal. In order to obtain sinusoidal input currents, the input power factor angle should be dynamically calculated based on the positive and negative sequence components of the input voltages. This paper proposes a simple method to construct the expected input power factor angle without the complicated sequence component extraction of input voltages. Simulation results are given to validate the effectiveness of the proposed control strategy.

파형 강판 웨브를 갖는 보의 매개변수 해석 연구 (Parametric Study on Buckling Behavior of Sinusoidal Corrugated Web Girder)

  • The purpose of this study was to analyze some parameters' effects on buckling behavior of Sinusoidal Corrugated Web using finite element analysis program. Studying buckling behavior is one of the most important things to design sinusoidal corrugated web girders and predict the shear performance. In this paper, Four parameters of Sinusoidal Corrugated Web, which are thickness($t_w$), height($h_w$), wave height(${\alpha}_3$) and wave length(w), were selected for buckling behavior analysis. Via buckling analysis, it is shown that $t_w$, $h_w$ and ${\alpha}_3$ have influence on shear buckling stress, Initial stiffness and reduced strength after buckling.

미상 레이더의 Wobble 및 Sinusoidal PRI 식별 알고리즘 (An Algorithm for De-Interleaving of Wobble and Sinusoidal PRIs for Unidentified Radar Signals)

  • 미상의 레이더에서 방사하는 전자파를 수신하여 신호를 처리한 후, 레이더의 변조방식을 식별하는 일은 전자전에서 매우 핵심 과제이다. 본 논문에서는 최근 전자전 보호능력이 우수한 Wobble PRI 방식과 Sinusoidal PRI 변조방식을 자동식별하는 알고리즘을 DTOA(Difference Time Of Arrival)을 적용하여 개발하였다. 안테나로 입력되는 레이더 펄스의 PRI를 산출하고, 산출된 PRI의 각 값으로부터 시간차의 특성을 산출하여 알고리즘을 개발하였다. 알고리즘을 프로그래밍한 후 각각 40개의 표본 PRI데이터를 입력하여 처리한 결과, 모두 정확히 PRI 변조방식을 식별하였다. 개발된 알고리즘은 향후 ESM장비 또는 ELINT 장비에 적용 가능할 것으로 판단한다.

Comparative Study on Sinusoidal and Square Wave Driving Methods of EEFL (External Electrode Fluorescent Lamp) for LCD TV Backlight

  • EEFLs are mostly driven by sinusoidal wave driving method although EEFLs (External Electrode Fluorescent Lamps) are driven by both sinusoidal wave and square wave. The sinusoidal driving method reduces the cost and allows more power efficiency since this driving method can reduce the voltage stress of EEFL inverter switches and achieve the soft switching of the switches. And a transformer should be used in the inverter since the high voltage should be applied to the both ends of EEFL to turn on the lamp. However, the power loss mainly occurs at the transformer in the sinusoidal wave driving method. In order to remove the transformer which makes the power loss, a new method is presented. In this paper, the square wave is applied directly to the both ends of EEFL by a proposed two-stage inverter. Moreover, the luminance and power efficiency will be compared between the common sinusoidal wave driving method and square wave driving method.

양측 전정절제(前庭切除) 가묘(家猫)의 경안구반사(頸眼球反射) (Cervico-ocular Reflex in Bilateral Labyrinthectomized Cats)

  • The effect of cervical proprioceptors on the control of eye movement and body posture was examined in unanesthetized labyrinthine intact and bilateral labyrinthectomized cats. Cervico-ocular reflex(COR) was elicited by stimulation of the cervical proprioceptors by means of sinusoidal rotation of head or body in the darkness. The following results were obtained: 1) In labyrinthine intact cats, sinusoidal rotation of the whole body elicited compensatory eye movement(vestibulo-ocular reflex: VOR); the direction of eye movement was opposite to the direction of head rotation. 2) Anticompensatory eye movement was observed by sinusoidal rotation of the body with head fixed in labyrinthine intact cats; the direction of eye movement was the same as the direction of head rotation. 3) Compensatory eye movement was observed by sinusoidal rotation of the head with body fixed or sinusoidal rotation of the body with head fixed in both acute and chronic bilateral labyrinthectomized cats. These results suggest that the cervical proprioceptors are important in the control of ocular movement and posture in the bilateral labyrintectomized cats, although they are questionable in labyrinthine intact cats.

Studying the Park-Ang damage index of reinforced concrete structures based on equivalent sinusoidal waves

  • In this research, the vulnerability of some reinforced concrete frames with different stories are studied based on the Park-Ang Damage Index. The damages of the frames are investigated under various earthquakes with nonlinear dynamic analysis in IDARC software. By examining the most important characteristics of earthquake parameters, the damage index and vulnerability of these frames are investigated in this software. The intensity of Erias, velocity spectral intensity (VSI) and peak ground velocity (PGV) had the highest correlation, and root mean square of displacement ($D_{rms}$) had the lowest correlation coefficient among the parameters. Then, the particle swarm optimization (PSO) algorithm was used, and the sinusoidal waves were equivalent to the used earthquakes according to the most influential parameters above. The damage index equivalent to these waves is estimated using nonlinear dynamics analysis. The comparison between the damages caused by earthquakes and equivalent sinusoidal waves is done too. The generations of sinusoidal waves equivalent to different earthquakes are generalized in some reinforced concrete frames. The equivalent sinusoidal wave method was exact enough because the greatest difference between the results of the main and artificial accelerator damage index was about 5 percent. Also sinusoidal waves were more consistent with the damage indices of the structures compared to the earthquake parameters.

Nonlinear thermal buckling behavior of functionally graded plates using an efficient sinusoidal shear deformation theory

  • Nonlinear behavior of functionally graded material (FGM) plates under thermal loads is investigated here using an efficient sinusoidal shear deformation theory. The displacement field is chosen based on assumptions that the in-plane and transverse displacements consist of bending and shear components, and the shear components of in-plane displacements give rise to the sinusoidal distribution of transverse shear stress through the thickness in such a way that shear stresses vanish on the plate surfaces. Therefore, there is no need to use shear correction factor. Unlike the conventional sinusoidal shear deformation theory, the proposed efficient sinusoidal shear deformation theory contains only four unknowns. The material is graded in the thickness direction and a simple power law based on the rule of mixture is used to estimate the effective material properties. The neutral surface position for such FGM plates is determined and the sinusoidal shear deformation theory based on exact neutral surface position is employed here. There is no stretching-bending coupling effect in the neutral surface-based formulation, and consequently, the governing equations and boundary conditions of functionally graded plates based on neutral surface have the simple forms as those of isotropic plates. The non-linear strain-displacement relations are also taken into consideration. The thermal loads are assumed as uniform, linear and non-linear temperature rises across the thickness direction. Closed-form solutions are presented to calculate the critical buckling temperature, which are useful for engineers in design. Numerical results are presented for the present efficient sinusoidal shear deformation theory, demonstrating its importance and accuracy in comparison to other theories.

실지진 모사를 위한 조합형 정현하중의 적용성 검증 (Verification of Combined Sinusoidal Loads for Simulating Real Earthquakes)

  • 2016년 경주지진과 2017년 포항지진이 발생한 이후, 우리나라 내진설계에 있어서 다양한 실내진동시험의 수행이 증가하고 있으나, 액상화 평가나 수치해석의 입력파라미터를 산정하기 위한 실내진동시험에서는 이전부터 사용해 오던 정현하중의 이용이 계속되고 있다. 그러나, 최근 정현하중으로는 지진하중으로 야기되는 지반 내 과잉간극수압의 거동을 정확하게 모사하기 어렵다는 연구결과가 발표되며 정현하중을 대신하여 동하중의 개발에 대한 논의가 주목을 받기 시작하였다. 이 연구에서는 이러한 문제를 해결하고자 조합형 정현하중을 제안하고 주문진 표준사를 대상으로 한 진동전단실험과 진동삼축압축시험을 통해 그 적용성을 검토하였으며 추가로 진동대시험과 유효응력해석모델에 기초한 수치해석을 통해 그 타당성을 검토하였다. 검토 결과, 제안된 조합형 정현하중이 정현하중보다 실지진하중 하에서의 포화지반 내 과잉간극수압의 거동변화를 잘 모사할 수 있음을 발견하였다.

사인 웨이브 휜-관 열교환기의 공기측 성능에 관한 실험연구 (An Experimental Investigation on the Airside Performance of Fin-and-Tube Heat Exchangers Having Sinusoidal Wave Fins)

  • The heat transfer and friction characteristics of the heat exchangers having sinusoidal wave fins were experimentally investigated. Twenty-nine samples having different waffle heights (1.5 mm and 2.0 m), fin pitches (1.3mm to 1.7mm) and tube rows (one to three) were tested. Focus was given to the effect of the waffle configuration (herringbone or sinusoidal) on the heat transfer and friction characteristics. Results show that the sinusoidal wave geometry provides higher heat transfer coefficients and friction factors than the herringbone wave geometry, and the difference increases as the number of row increases. The i/f ratios of the herringbone wave geometry, however, are larger than those of the sinusoidal wave geometry. Compared to the herringbone wave geometry, the sinusoidal wave geometry yielded a weak row effect, which suggests a superior heat transfer performance at the fully developed flow region. Possible explanation is provided considering the flow characteristics in wavy channels. Within the present geometric range, the effect of the waffle height on the heat transfer coefficient was not prominent. The effect of the fin pitch was also negligible. Existing correlations highly overpredicted both the heat transfer coefficients and friction factors. A new correlation was developed using the present data.

인공와우 전기 청각 인지에 대한 정현파 모델 적용에 관한 연구 (Application of sinusoidal model to perception of electrical hearing in cochlear implants)

  • 어음은 복잡한 정현파들의 합으로 구성된다. 본 논문은 정현파 모델을 인공와우 시뮬레이션에 적용하여 인공와우 사용자의 전기 청각 인지 메커니즘을 정상 청력인의 음향 청각 인지 메커니즘과 비교하였다. 이를 위해 정상 청력을 지닌 14명의 성인들이 본 연구에 참여하였다. 2, 4, 6, 8개의 정현파 성분만을 추출하는 정현파 모델이 적용된 문장과 정현파 모델과 인공와우 시뮬레이션(8 채널 보코더)이 함께 적용된 문장에 대한 어음인지도 검사를 실시하였다. 연구결과, 인공와우 시뮬레이션이 함께 적용된 정현파 문장에서 통계적으로 낮은 어음인지도를 보였으며, 특히 적은 수(2개)의 정현파 성분에서 큰 차이를 보였다. 본 연구는 정현파 모델에 대한 인공와우 사용자의 전기 청각 인지 패턴의 특성을 제시하며, 인공와우 어음처리 알고리즘의 개발에 대한 기초 자료를 제공한다.
