MACCS (MELCOR Accident Consequence Code System), WinMACCS, and MelMACCS now facilitate a multi-unit consequence analysis. MACCS evaluates the consequences of an atmospheric release of radioactive gases and aerosols into the atmosphere and is most commonly used to perform probabilistic safety assessments (PSAs) and related consequence analyses for nuclear power plants (NPPs). WinMACCS is a user-friendly preprocessor for MACCS. MelMACCS extracts source-term information from a MELCOR plot file. The current development can combine an arbitrary number of source terms, representing simultaneous releases from a multi-unit facility, into a single consequence analysis. The development supports different release signatures, fission product inventories, and accident initiation times for each unit. The treatment is completely general except that the model is currently limited to collocated units. A major practical consideration for performing a multi-unit PSA is that a comprehensive treatment for more than two units may involve an intractable number of combinations of source terms. This paper proposes and evaluates an approach for reducing the number of calculations to be tractable, even for sites with eight or ten units. The approximation error introduced by the approach is acceptable and is considerably less than other errors and uncertainties inherent in a Level 3 PSA.
In this paper, a technique of simultaneously measuring the velocity and the temperature in micro-scale flow is proposed. This method uses particle tracking velocimetry (PTV) for measuring the velocity and laser induced fluorescence (LIF) for measuring the temperature. To measure the accurate velocity and temperature, images for PTV and for LIF are separated by using two light sources and a shutter which is synchronized with a camera. By using only one camera, measurement system can be simplified and the error from complicate optical system can be minimized. Error analyses regarding the concentrations of fluorescent dye and particle and the light source fluctuation are also conducted. It is found that the error of the temperature and the velocity highly depends on the concentration of fluorescent particles which are used for PTV. This technique is applied to the simultaneous measurement of the velocity and the temperature in the electrokinetic flow. It is found that the velocity and temperature vary with the electric field strength and the concentration of electrolyte.
In this paper, we present the simultaneous measurement of the fabricaition strain and temperature during and after cure of unsymmetric composite laminate uising fiber optic sensors. Fiber Bragg grating/extrinsic Fabry-Perot interferometric (FBG/EFPl) hybrid sensors are used to measure those measurands. The characteristic matrix of sensor is analytically derived and measurements can be done without sensor calibration. A wavelength-swept fiber laser is utilized as a light source. FBG/EFPI sensors are embedded in a graphite/epoxy unsymmetric cross-ply composite laminate at different direction and different location. We perform the real time measurement of fabrication strains and temperatures at two points of the composite laminate during cure process in an autoclave. Also, the thermal strains and temperatures of the fabricated laminate are measured in thermal chamber. Through these experiments, we can provide a basis for the efficient smart processing of composite and know the thermal behavior of unsymmetric cross-ply composite laminate.

We present the results of simultaneous observations of the H2O and SiO masers emitted from the circumstellar envelopes (CSEs) of the late-type stars. These observations have been carried out at the four frequency bands (K, Q, W and D bands) using KVN to apply the source frequency phase referencing (SFPR) analysis to the maser lines. We obtain the relative positions between the H2O and the SiO maser spots by using the SFPR method, which are very important to study the physical links between the inner and the outer parts of the CSEs of the late-type stars. The relative positions between the SiO maser spots of the different transitions are also obtained very accurately, which are very crucial to investigate the pumping mechanism of the SiO maser lines. From our results, the capability of the simultaneous multi-band observation of KVN is proved to be powerful to study the complicated physical environments of the CSEs and the stellar evolution of the late-type stars.

We present the interim results of simultaneous time monitoring observations of $^{28}SiO$ v = 1, 2, J = 1-0, $^{29}SiO$ v = 0, J = 1-0 and $H_2O$$6_{16}-5_{23}$ maser lines toward 10 known water fountain sources at a post-AGB stage. The observations have been carried out from 2009 June to 2013 September using the 21m single dish radio telescopes of the Korean VLBI Network. From six sources, we detected well separated red- and blue-shifted $H_2O$ maser features with large velocity ranges more than 100 km $s^{-1}$. From four sources, we detected red- and/or blue-shifted $H_2O$ maser features depended on observational epochs. However, we could not detected SiO maser emission from any sources and any epochs. For a representative water fountain source W43A, we obtained $H_2O$ maser spectra at 17 epochs which show a clear bipolar and discontinuous mass ejections. They also showed a periodic change between red-shifted and blue-shifted peaks. However, we need a more regular and short-time interval monitoring observations in order to fix the period and peak intensity variation interval.
In this paper, a technique of simultaneously measuring the velocity and the temperature in micro-scale flow is proposed. This method uses particle tracking velocimetry (PTV) for measuring the velocity and laser induced fluorescence (LIE) for measuring the temperature. To measure the accurate velocity and temperature, images for PTV and for LIE are separated by using two light sources and a shutter which is synchronized with a camera.
The photocatalytic oxidation of Rhodamine B(RhB) was studied using photocatalytic reactor filled with module of quartz tube. Module of quartz tube consisted of small quartz tube (inner diameter, 1.5 mm; outer diameter, 3 mm) bundle coated with powder $TiO_2$ and uncoated large quartz tube (inner diameter, 20 mm; outer diameter, 22 mm). Two 30 W germicidal lamp was used as the light source and the reactor volume was 0.5 l. The effects of parameters such as the coating materials and numbers, initial concentration, $H_{2}O_2$ dose and metal deposition (Ag, Pt and Fe) and simultaneous application of $H_{2}O_2$ and metal deposition. The results showed that the initial reaction constant of quartz module coated with powder $TiO_2$ was higher 1.4 time than that of the $TiO_2$ sol and optimum coating number is twice. In order to increase reaction rate, simultaneous application of photocatalytic and photo-fenton reaction using Fe coating and dose $H_{2}O_2$ dose increased reaction rate largely.

Aureobasidium puliulans possesses the capacity for simultaneous formation of fructosyltransferase and glucosyltransferase in various sugar media including sucrose, maltose, glucose and fructose. Among them, sucrose (300 g/1) was the most suitable carbon source for fructosyltransferase production, while fructose (100 g/1) gave the maximal production of glucosyltransferase. There existed a critical concentration for the optimal formation of enzymes in sucrose, glucose and fructose media. By contrast, no effect of maltose concentrations up to 300 g/1 was observed. The specific activity of the glucosyltransferase on maltose medium was highest during the early period of fetmentation, after which a sharp decrease occurred, whereas fructosyltransferase activity on sucrose medium maintained a nearly constant rate for a given culture period. Concomitant production of fructosyltransferase and glucosyltransferase was investigated with different combinations of lower concentrations of sucrose and maltose. Maltose supplementation in sucrose media and sucrose addition to maltose media enhanced the activity ratios of fructosyltransferase to glucosyltransferase as compared to that of non-supplemented media. Several polymers and surfactants were added in an attempt to enhance enzyme production, and supplementation of polyoxyethylene-sorbitan monolaurate (Tween 20) promoted fructosyltransferase production by 20%.

Kluyveromyces marxianus is a well-known thermotolerant yeast. Although Saccharomyces cerevisiae is the most commonly used yeast species for ethanol production, the thermotolerant K. marxianus is more suitable for simultaneous saccharification and fermentation (SSF) processes. This is because enzymatic saccharification usually requires a higher temperature than that needed for the optimum growth of S. cerevisiae. In this study, we compared the fermentation patterns of S. cerevisiae and K. marxianus under various temperatures of fermentation. The results show that at a fermentation temperature of $45^{\circ}C$, K. marxianus exhibited more than two fold higher growth rate and ethanol production rate in comparison to S. cerevisiae. For SSF using starch or corn stover as the sole carbon source by K. marxianus, the high temperature ($45^{\circ}C$) fermentations showed higher enzymatic activities and ethanol production compared to SSF at $30^{\circ}C$. These results demonstrate the potential of the thermotolerant yeast K. marxianus for SSF in the industrial production of biofuels.
