Development of Two-lane, Two-way Highway Simulation Program(TWOPAS) for Korean Condition (한국형 2차선도로 모의실험 프로그램(TWOPAS)의 개발)

  • The two-lane, two-way highway simulation program(TWOPAS) is evaluated for Korean Highway Capacity Manual Study. TWOPAS program input variables, especially related vehicle performance, traffic flow relationship, car-following model and passing logic are examined and modified through the analysis results of our two-lane, two-way highway traffic characteristics. Simulation outputs with and without modification are compared with the field data. The results show that improved TWOPAS program(TWOPAS KI) is well suitable for simulating our two-lane, two-way highway condition.

  • We usually use the simulation technique in the evaluation and the test of a design alternative of Automated Guided Vehicle System. In this paper, we introduce a simulation code generator which can assist simulation programmer in model development and programming. It consists of user interface, program editor, and program sorter. SIMAN is used as the target language.

Effects of a Colonoscopy based Simulation Education Program on Knowledge and Clinical Performance in Nursing Students (대장내시경 사례 기반 시뮬레이션 교육 프로그램이 간호학생의 지식과 임상수행능력에 미치는 효과)

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study was to evaluate the effects of a colonoscopy simulation program on knowledge and clinical performance among nursing students. Methods: The program consisted of a scenario with three objectives: health assessment, nursing before/after colonoscopy and emergency care for bleeding following the colonoscopy. A nonequivalent control group pretest-posttest design was used. The sample was 149 nursing students recruited from H University in G city from August, 2013 to December, 2014. The treatment group (n=71) received the simulation and the comparison group (n=78) received the usual lecture program. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, ${\chi}^2$ test, t-test and repeated measure ANOVA using the SPSS/WIN 20.0 program. Result: Participants in the treatment group had significantly increased reported scores on both knowledge and clinical performance. Conclusion: Results indicate that the simulated program is a useful strategy for improving knowledge and clinical performance among nursing students. The development of simulation practice programs in a variety of fields are needed in order to promote the practical competence of nursing students.

DESIGN PROGRAM FOR THE KINEMATIC AND DYNAMIC CHARACTERISTICS OF THE BUS DOOR MECHANISM

  • The bus is regarded as one of the most frequently used public transportation systems, the research and development on driving stability, safety, and convenience for drivers and passengers has tremendously increased in recent days. This paper investigated the design of the bus door mechanism composed of an actuator (or motor) and linkages. The bus door mechanism is divided into many types according to the coupling of the linkages and the driving system. The mathematical models of all types of door mechanism have been constructed for computer simulation. To design the bus door mechanism, we developed a simulation program, which automates the kinematic and dynamic analysis according to the input parameters of each linkage and the driving system. Using this program, we investigated the design parameters that affect the kinematic and dynamic characteristics of the bus door mechanism under various simulation conditions. In addition, simple examples are examined to validate the developed program.

Development of a Dynamic Analysis Program for Tracked Vehicles (궤도차량을 위한 동특성 해석 프로그램 개발)

  • A simulation program for vehicle dynamic analysis was developed. The Cartesisn coordinate system was used for translational motion and the Euler angle system was used for rotational motion. A three dimensional multi-wheeled vehicle model and equations of motion were derived. Also static equilibrium analysis was added for initial vehicle condition setting. The program user can describe the exact characteristics of suspension spring force and damping force in the user subroutine. A wheel-ground contact model which represents geometrical effect was developed. Two cases of simulation for 16 D.O.F. vehicle model were conducted to validate the developed program by comparing the simulation results with the experimental data.

  • This paper presents on research findings of how Visual C++ program can be used to generate codes capable of performing ramjet engine simulation To understand the diversity and applicability of this tool an arbitrary ramjet model will be considered for which generated output values will be compared with those from a commercial program GASTURB 9 iterated under the same input parameters. Several governing thermodynamic equations will first be discussed in order that we understand the fundamental idea behind values printed out on the GUI. C++ compiler was chosen as a tool of use due to its availability, ease of use, ability to compute functions faster and uniquely possible to make a stand alone GUI executable in DOS mode. The program is developed in such a way that given the ambient flight conditions, burner exit temperature and several geometry areas the program generates its own input values used in the succeeding stations. A close resemblance of output values that define performance and thermodynamic state of the engine was realized between GASTURB 9 and using this code made from C++ compiler.

Persistence of Integrated Nursing Simulation Program Effectiveness (통합적 간호시뮬레이션 실습교육 효과의 지속성)

  • Purpose: This study was done to evaluate the persistency of effects of an integrated nursing simulation program on interest in learning, recognition of importance of communication, communication skills, and problem-solving abilities. Method: Forty-seven nursing students were recruited for this quasi-experimental design research. The experimental group (n=23) performed the simulation program for two weeks, and the control group (n=24) performed traditional clinical nursing practice for two weeks. Data were collected at baseline, immediately after the intervention, at 4 weeks, and finally at 8 weeks. Results: With respect to all variables, no significant differences were found between the experimental group and the control group. Interest in learning showed a significant increase in the control group (F=3.59, p=.018) at 4 weeks, and there was a significant increase in problem-solving abilities in the experimental group (F=4.98, p=.004) immediately after the intervention. Conclusion: Findings from this study suggest that the integrated nursing simulation program is as effective as the traditional clinical nursing practice, and the integrated nursing simulation program could be used as an alternative.

Development of SWRO-PRO hybrid process simulation and cost estimation program (역삼투-압력지연삼투 조합공정 공정모사 및 비용예측 프로그램 개발)

  • The main objective of this paper is to develop computer simulation program for performance evaluation and cost estimation of a reverse osmosis (RO) and pressure-retarded osmosis (PRO) hybrid process to propose guidelines for its economic competitiveness use in the field. A solution-diffusion model modified with film theory and a simple cost model was applied to the simulation program. Using the simulation program, the effects of various factors, including the Operating conditions, membrane properties, and cost parameters on the RO and RO-PRO hybrid process performance and cost were examined. The simulation results showed that the RO-PRO hybrid process can be economically competitive with the RO process when electricity cost is more than 0.2 $/kWh, the PRO membrane cost is same as RO membrane cost, the power density is more than $8W/m^2$ and PRO recovery is same as 1/(1-RO recovery).

  • This paper describes the development of machining simulation program which is able to design cutter profile and 3-dimensional geometry for rotors in screw compressor. Based on the symmetric rotor profiles developed previously, cutters are designed and 3-dimensional geometries of rotors are generated by using simulation program. Symmetric rotors are manufactured by a universal milling machine, and surface geometries of them are measured by a 3-dimension scanner It is shown that simulation program developed is useful to design cutter for rotor manufacturing and to generate the 3-dimensional helicoid geometry of rotor in screw compressor.
