배터리 에너지 저장 장치를 위한 2단 DC-DC-AC 컨버터의 모델링 방법 (Modeling and Control of a Two-Stage DC-DC-AC Converter for Battery Energy Storage System)

  • This study proposes a small-signal model and control design for a two-stage DC-DC-AC converter to investigate its dynamic characteristics in relation to battery energy storage system. When the circuit analysis of the two-stage DC-DC-AC converter is attempted simultaneously, the mathematical procedure of deriving the dynamic equation is complex and difficult. The main idea of modeling the two-stage DC-DC-AC converter states that this topology is separated into a bidirectional DC-DC converter and a single-phase inverter with an equivalent current source corresponding to that of the inverter or converter. The dynamic equations for the separated converter and inverter are then derived using the state-space averaging technique. The procedures of building the small-signal model of the two-stage DC-DC-AC converter are described in detail. Based on the derived small-signal model, the individual controllers are designed through a frequency-domain analysis. The simulation and experimental results verify the validity of the proposed modeling approach and controller design.

근거리 신호 모델링을 기반으로 한 어레이 형상 추정 기법들의 성능 분석 (Performance Analysis of the Array Shape Estimation Methods Based on the Nearfield Signal Modeling)

  • 소나 시스템에서 참조 신호를 이용하여 어레이 형상을 추정하는 경우, 참조 신호는 어레이와 충분히 떨어져 있지 않기 때문에 근거리 신호 모델링이 필요하다. 근거리 신호 모델링을 기반으로 하는 어레이 형상 추정 기법은 일반적으로 수신된 참조 신호의 공간 공분산 행렬을 이용한다. 이러한 기법 중 1개의 참조 신호만을 이용하여 공간 공분산 행렬의 고유치 분해 후 최대 고유치에 해당하는 고유 벡터를 참조 신호의 조향 벡터로 구성하여 어레이 형상을 추정하는 근거리 고유벡터 기법이 있다. 본 논문에서는 1개 이상의 참조 신호를 이용하여 공간 공분산 행렬로부터 구한 잡음 부공간과 신호 부공간이 서로 직교한다는 특성을 이용하여 Newton-type 반복 기법으로 센서 위치를 추정해 나가는 간략화된 부공간 근사 기법을 제안한다. 또한 근거리 고유 벡터 기법과 간략화된 부공간 근사 기법의 성능을 다양한 환경에서 분석해 본다. 모의 실험 결과 한 개의 참조 신호를 이용하는 경우에 근거리 고유 벡터 기법과 간략화된 부공간 근사 기법이 거의 동일한 성능을 보임을 확인할 수 있었다. 또한 근거리 고유 벡터 기법이 참조 신호를 2개 이상 사용할 수 없는데 반해 간략화된 부공간 근사 기법은 두 개의 참조 신호를 이용함으로써 참조 신호의 입사 방향에 관계없이 안정적인 형상 추정 결과를 얻을 수 있음을 확인하였다.

반향 음성 신호의 하모닉 모델링을 이용한 음질 예측 알고리즘 (Speech Quality Estimation Algorithm using a Harmonic Modeling of Reverberant Signals)

  • 실내 환경에서 음성 신호는 음향 전달 함수에 의한 반향 신호를 포함한다. 이때 반향의 정도나 반향에 의한 음질 변화를 예측하는 것은 반향 제거 알고리즘 등에서 중요한 정보를 제공한다. 본 논문은 음성 신호의 하모닉 모델링 기법을 이용한 반향 환경에서의 자동 음질 예측 기법을 제안하다. 제안한 방법에서는 반향을 포함하는 음성 신호에 대한 하모닉 모델링 기법이 가능함을 보이고, 모델링된 하모닉 성분과 나머지 성분 사이의 통계적인 비율을 예측한다. 예측된 비율은 일반적인 방 환경에서의 음질 측정 표준 파라미터와 비 교하였다. 실험 결과 제안된 방법은 다양한 반향 환경 (반향 시간 0.2~1.0초)에서 표준 음질 파라미터를 정확하게 예측할 수 있음을 증명하였다.

Fundamental Small-signal Modeling of Li-ion Batteries and a Parameter Evaluation Using Levy's Method

  • The fundamental small-signal modeling of lithium-ion (Li-ion) batteries and a parameter evaluation approach are investigated in this study to describe the dynamic behaviors of small signals accurately. The main contributions of the study are as follows. 1) The operational principle of the small signals of Li-ion batteries is revealed to prove that the sinusoidal voltage response of a Li-ion battery is a result of a sinusoidal current stimulation of an AC small signals. 2) Three small-signal measurement conditions, namely stability, causality, and linearity, are proved mathematically proven to ensure the validity of the frequency response of the experimental data. 3) Based on the internal structure and electrochemical operational mechanism of the battery, an AC small-signal model is established to depict its dynamic behaviors. 4) A classical least-squares curve fitting for experimental data, referred as Levy's method, are introduced and developed to identify small-signal model parameters. Experimental and simulation results show that the measured frequency response data fit well within reading accuracy of the simulated results; moreover, the small-signal parameters identified by Levy's method are remarkably close to the measured parameters. Although the fundamental and parameter evaluation approaches are discussed for Li-ion batteries, they are expected to be applicable for other batteries.

  • A mathematical modeling for a magnetic levitation system is proposed using the Taylor series expansion of differential function for obtaining linearity. It is confirmed that this kind of linear approximation method can be used to the modeling of a magnetic levitation system. The two-degree-of-freedom optimal servo system for a constant reference signal is proposed using the LQ optimization technique. An additional state feedback is introduced at the output of the integrator to cancel the integral action for reference signal if there is no modeling error of the plant and no disturbance input to the plant. When the modeling error or the disturbance input exists, the integral effect appears. The system has a free parameter which can b used to tune the effect of the integral compensation.

  • In an active noise control(ANC) system using the Filtered-X least mean square(LMS) algorithm, the online secondary path modeling method by exploiting a random noise generator is applied. This method is suitable for secondary path modeling. However, it is increased the residual error of the ANC system. In this paper, we presents an ANC system improved online secondary path modeling method which is modified Kuo and Zhang model that is the secondary path estimation by the additive noise. In addition, our proposed model is used that additive noise is transformed into the signal multiplied reference signal by gain control parameter and delayed.

  • This Paper presents the dynmics modeling and the operation simulation of the 500 MW drum-type boiler and its control system hosted in the Boryung Power Plant unit #1 and #2. The fidelity of the modeling and the operation simulation is well verified by their agreement with the actual data obtained form the plant operation. As a plant signal generator for the various operation patterns and fault situations, the simulation environment will be utilized to develope the fault detecting signal processing algorithms.

  • Damage estimation methods are classified into two groups according to the dependence on the FE model : signal-based and model-based methods. Signal-based damage estimation methods are generally appropriate for detection of damage location, whereas not effective for estimation of damage severities. Model-based damage estimation methods are difficult to apply directly to the structures with a large number of the probable damaged members. It is difficult to obtain the exact model representing the real bridge behavior due to the modeling errors. The modeling errors even may exceed the modal sensitivity on damage. In this study, Model-based damage detection method which can effectively consider the modeling errors is suggested. Two numerical example analyses on a simple beam and a multi-girder bridge are presented to demonstrate the effectiveness of the presented method.

  • A new small signal modeling of an average current mode control is proposed. In order to analyze the characteristics of the control scheme, the discrete and continuous time small signal models are derived. The derivation are mainly come from the analysis of the sampling effect presented in the current control loop. By the mathematical interpretation of practical sampler representing the sampling effect of a current control loop, the small signal models of an average current mode control can be easily derived. The instability of the current control loop, which gives rise to the subharmonic oscillation, can be identified by the proposed models. To show the usefulness of the proposed models, the simulation and experiment are carried out. The results show that the predicted results by the proposed model are much better agreed with the measured ones than that of the conventional model, even though the high gain of the compensation network of a current control loop is employed.

  • The instrument landing system (ILS) is an international standard established by the International civil aviation organization (ICAO) as one of the landing support facilities for aircraft. This system consists of a localizer (LOC) that provides orientation information about the runway to indicate the approach direction, a glide path (GP) that indicates the appropriate approach glide slope, and three of marker beacons (MB) that indicates the distance to the runway landing edge. In this study, we predicted the received signal strength by altitude and distance for LOC signals transmitted from the ground and analyzed the difference with the signal strength measured in the actual environment. Our objective is to develop signal strength prediction technology and apply it to the real environment.
