The modern wireless communication system employes the beamforming technique based on a massive array antenna with a number of elements, for supporting the smooth communication services. A reliable beamforming technology requires the Angle-of-Arrival(: AOA) information for the signal incident to the receiving antenna, which is generally estimated by the high-resolution AOA estimation algorithm such as Multiple Signal Classification(: MUSIC). Although the MUSIC algorithm has the excellent estimation performance, it is difficult to estimate AOA in real time for the massive array antenna due to the extremely high computational complexity. In order to enhance this problem, in this paper, we propose the cascade AOA estimation algorithm based on a Flexible Massive Concentric Circular Array(: FMCCA) antenna with the On/Off function for antenna elements. The proposed cascade algorithm consists of the CAPON algorithm using some elements among entire antenna elements and the Beamspace MUSIC algorithm using entire elements. We provide computer simulation results for various scenarios to demonstrate the AOA estimation performance of the proposed approach.

The satellite antenna for collecting information is mainly classified into reflector antenna, lens antenna, and phased array antenna. Among them, the phased array antenna with the excellent antenna pattern control performance for a multi-beam system is frequently used. Although the terrestrial signal information collection based on the satellite is not much effected geographically, it requires the accurate angle-of-arrival (AOA) information of the interesting signal. In this paper, we discuss the characteristics and the advantages/disadvantages of the antenna array shape employed in the phased array antenna. In addition, we present the Cascade AOA estimation algorithm based on a square array antenna mounted on the satellite receiver, and show the performance evaluation results through the computer simulation.
The effects of several compounds related to signal transduction cascade were determined to induce the production of alizarin and purpurin in the hairy root culture system of Rubia cordifolia var. pratensis. It was found that out of five tested compounds jasmonic acid(1 mg/l) and methyl jasmonate(1 mg/l) stimulated strongly the biosynthesis of the pigments while linolenic acid(1 mg/l) induced no significant increase of the product. Yeast extract(600 mg/l) and arachidonic acid(1 mg/l) showed relatively mild inducing effects on production of alizarin. The effects of jasmonic acid and methyl jasmonate were reduced by treatment with cycloheximide(2.8 mg/l).
Plant responses to salinity stress is critical in determining the growth and development. Therefore, adaptability of plant to salinity stress is directly related with agriculture productivity. Salt adaptation is a result of the integrated functioning of numerous determinants that are regulated coordinately through an appropriate responsive signal transduction cascade. The cascade perceives the saline environment and exerts control over the essential mechanisms that are responsible for ion homeostasis and osmotic adjustment. Although little is known about the component elements of salt stress perception and the signaling cascade(s) in plant, the use of Arabidopsis plant as a molecular genetic tool has been provided important molecular nature of salt tolerance effectors and regulatory pathways. In this review, I summarize recent advances in understanding the molecular mechanisms of salt adaptation.

Pattern noise in the Delta-Sigma modulator is a well Known phenomenon that intrigued many circuit designers. These noise appear as the modulator output falls into a cyclic mode of operation. This paper addresses the dependence of these tone signal upon the system topologies. Among the four well known single-stage DSM topologies, namely Cascade of Integrators with Feedback Form(CIFB), Cascade of Integrators with Feedforward Form(CIFF), Cascade of Resonators with Feedback Form(CRFB), and Cascade of Resonators with Feedforward Form(CRFF), resonator type DSMs turn out to be more susceptible to the pattern noise than the integrator type. Noise transfer functions of the investigated topologies are also presented.

In order to use the Massive MIMO (Multi Input Multi Output) technology using the massive array antenna, it is essential to know the angle of arrival (AOA) of the signal. When using a massive array antenna, the existing AOA estimation algorithm has excellent estimation performance, but also has a disadvantage in that computational complexity increases in proportion to the number of antenna elements. To solve this problem, a cascade AOA estimation algorithm has been proposed and the performance of a single-shaped (non)massive array antenna has been proven through a number of papers. However, the computational complexity of the cascade AOA estimation algorithm to which single and double rim array antennas are applied has not been compared. In this paper, we compare and analyze the computational complexity for AOA estimation when single and double rim array antennas are applied to the cascade AOA estimation algorithm.

This study was initiated to find a way to resolve electronic equipment as it could be affected by multiple environments. The effect of setting the exponential constant wave (iExp) in the telescopic cascade comparator to the SET (Single Event Transient) environment was tested. In this paper, the radio wave delay was measured at 0.46 ㎲ and the gain at 0.713 in the telescopic cascade comparator without setting the SET situation. FET T0 (M6) was measured to have a large spike at 11㎲ to 15㎲ in the telescopic cascade comparator entering the SET situation. FET T1 (M5) has shorted output signals from 10 ㎲ to 16 ㎲. FET T2 (M3) represented a shorted output signal, and FET T3 (M4) measured the output waveform in the form of a large spike waveform. The FET T4 (M1) and FET T5 (M2) are spiky signals. And at all FETs, the propagation delay was changed from 0.45㎲ to 0.54㎲. In summary, The FET element in the telescopic cascade comparator in SET situation was measured to be greatly affected.

The conventional GSC is inappropriate in real situation when the target signal is present. The steering vector error cancels the target signal and the target signal misadjusts the weight of the adaptive filter. To prevent the target signal cancellation, the robust GSC using the constrained adaptive filters was already proposed. However, the adaptive weight misadjustment is not settled in robust GSC. This Paper proposes a revised robust sidelobe canceller with adaptive compensator. To compensate the influence of target signal, the adaptive compensator is used in cascade. In computer simulation, we show the performance improvement by comparing the robust GSC with the proposed GSC.

Nitrosative stress can prevent or induce apoptosis. It occurs via S-nitrosylation by the interaction of nitric oxide (NO) with the biological thiols of proteins. Cellular redox potential and non-heme iron content determine S-nitrosylation. Apoptotic cell death is inhibited by S-nitrosylation of the redox-sensitive thiol in the catalytic site of caspase family proteases, which play an essential role in the apoptotic signal cascade. Nitrosative stress can also promote apoptosis by the activation of mitochondrial apoptotic pathways, such as the release of cytochrome c, an apoptosis-inducing factor, and endonuclease G from mitochondria, as well as the suppression of NF-${\kappa}B$ activity. In this article we reviewed the mechanisms whereby S-nitrosylation and nitrosative stress regulate the apoptotic signal cascade.

When 2 sets of PID controllers are coupled directly each other to configure a closed control loop on behalf of coupling a controller and a plant. the behaviors or this exclusive loop system are expected to be unique in inherent system responses. If its properties be disclosed and generalized well in advance, it is possible for us to use the results for the purpose of fault detection and performance monitoring between control stations from the stage of system design. particularly in such cases as cascade control systems. In this paper. general properties of the proposed system are analyzed firstly to check whether it is controllable and how its steady responses would be. To simplify calculation, the analysis has been performed based on the transfer equation derived from a modelled case which consists of 2 PI controllers and signal converters between them. including time delay element and first-lag element to consider the situation of signal transmission. The results acquired from simulation are suggested to show how it works actually.
