  • Digital Signage, a way of advertising or delivering information to viewers through digital displays, has expanded from being just an advertising channel in public places. Recently, it has become widely prevalent in restaurants and retail stores. Despite its wide expansion, digital signage is limited to specific usages and services and the devices it uses are also quite expensive. This study introduces a stick-type digital signage product that operates on Android OS, which addresses all the weaknesses of digital signage with much more reasonable pricing and stable operation. For stability, performance tests were executed on the hardware and applications. The results for hardware performance were extremely promising, as each scenario's maximum performance results, measured by Load Runner programs, reached target indexes. Also, as a result of the usability test, all participants, including non-digital signage system users (novices), were able to easily learn all the tasks. As a result of user satisfaction survey, positive responses were exhibited for ease of learning and usability (LEU), helpfulness and problem solving capabilities (HPSC), affective aspect and multimedia properties (AAMP), commands and minimal memory load (CMML), and control and efficiency (CE).

  • TV display which existed only in house started to show up out of house around us and now it found naturally its place in everywhere like street, bus, subway and elevator. It is called digital signage which showed up through digitalization of sign, that is, sign board and bulletin board. The distinction of digital sign from existing signs is that the latter one should go through physical process like removal after installation every time its contents are changed but the former one can produce its various outputs flexibly once it is installed. Also existing sign may be static image or 2 or 3 pieces of image to express simple motion while digital sign can contain multi media contents luxurious in design and motion. This paper confined the range of contents in digital signage in bus and subway. It needs to analyze characteristics of mass transportation-people of use, consumer by place and time, accommodation environment for consumer etc and arrange planned contents along with time and place. Developments of dedicated contents suitable to those digital signages will harmonize with place and time and promote the realm of digital signage which provides variety of experience to consumer and with which communication is possible and which is distinctive. Furthermore we may expect the birth of smart signage as a new media, in which fun and art are combined.

  • In this paper we present the search on HC-06 Bluetooth based driver module for emergency LED Multi-Directional Indicator. Nowadays, a growing trends in which electronic displays such as LED, LCD or plasma monitors are being installed in public places like bars, stores, entertainment areas, restaurants, lobbies, etc. In this paper, the study is curried out on efficiency of HC-06 Bluetooth module based controller driver that relates generally to the field of emergency signage management systems for displaying various indicator contents remotely on electronic displays in public and privates venues. It allows user smart devices interaction remotely with digital signage by providing content for displaying on at least one display in a venue. Depending on the emergency case, HC-06 Bluetooth based driver module proves the high efficiency as well as good performance of processing and communicating remotely the indicator based message that is displayed from a venue management control system by using smart devices. The system combines smart device that linked to HC-06 Bluetooth module with ATmega168/328 embedded micro controller which result by switching the displayer containing the digital signage indicator based message.

Digital Signage System Based on Intelligent Recommendation Model in Edge Environment: The Case of Unmanned Store

  • This paper proposes a digital signage system based on an intelligent recommendation model. The proposed system consists of a server and an edge. The server manages the data, learns the advertisement recommendation model, and uses the trained advertisement recommendation model to determine the advertisements to be promoted in real time. The advertisement recommendation model provides predictions for various products and probabilities. The purchase index between the product and weather data was extracted and reflected using correlation analysis to improve the accuracy of predicting the probability of purchasing a product. First, the user information and product information are input to a deep neural network as a vector through an embedding process. With this information, the product candidate group generation model reduces the product candidates that can be purchased by a certain user. The advertisement recommendation model uses a wide and deep recommendation model to derive the recommendation list by predicting the probability of purchase for the selected products. Finally, the most suitable advertisements are selected using the predicted probability of purchase for all the users within the advertisement range. The proposed system does not communicate with the server. Therefore, it determines the advertisements using a model trained at the edge. It can also be applied to digital signage that requires immediate response from several users.

  • There is a Growing Interest in Motion Recognition for Recognizing Human Motion in Camera Images. As a Result, Researches are Being Actively Conducted to Control Digital Devices with Gestures at a Long Distance. The Interface Using Gesture can be Effectively Used in the Digital Signage Industry Where the Advertisement Effect is Expected to be Exposed to the Public in Various Places. Since the Digital Signage Contents can be Easily Controlled through the Non-contact Hand Operation, it is Possible to Provide the Advertisement Information of Interest to a Large Number of People, Thereby Providing an Opportunity to Lead to Sales. Therefore, we Propose a Digital Signage Content Control System Based on Hand Movement at a Certain Distance, which can be Effectively Used for the Development of Interactive Advertizing Media.

  • In recent years, the advance on the high-end converging technology has improved to the changes on digital signage technology in many ways. Digital signage has to be designed to give information through systemed structure among the constituent for developing the information delivery responding to the environmental conversion, not feeding user information. Therefore, this paper proposes a smart contents platform which supplies various from of digital signage contents. In the digital signage circumstance, the smart contents platform is a way for an effective information transmission, game and the advertising interface by recognizing user interaction and the environmental information. This platform is composed of base hardware, middleware and middle device. Each component module is managed by the smart contents platform. Furthermore, it serves various live contents experiences via gathering and analyzing user and environmental information with linking various sensors and devices. It is a new way of information delivery which serves contents producing and providing circumstances in parallel.

  • 최근의 디지털 사이니지는 대형 고해상도 디스플레이를 이용해 사용자에게 초고해상도 파노라마형태의 볼거리를 제공하거나 사용자와 인터렉션 등을 통해 맞춤형광고를 제공하는 등 다양한 형태로 발전하고 있다. 또 개방형 디지털 사이니지의 발전과 함께 대형 멀티 사이니지를 이용한 초고화질 영상콘텐츠를 다양한 서비스 단말장치의 연동과 웹기반의 상호운용성을 갖춘 관리시스템이 활발히 연구될 것으로 보인다. 본 논문에서는 수십대에서 백여대 이상의 고해상도 디스플레이를 연동하여 초고해상도 영상표출의 기술의 구현방안과 정형화된 영상 해상도가 아닌 초고화질 영상의 개별 콘텐츠에 대한 동기화 시키는 기술을 이용하여 멀티 콘텐츠 플레이 단말기에서 고해상도 영상을 Play Sync하는 기술을 연구한다.

  • Digital signage is constantly being researched as new digital video platform to replace existing signage market. Traditionally, It conveys various information combining still images with text. Nowadays, it is rapidly exchanging to multi digital platform by high specificaton system, improvement of internet speed and advancement of video and audio compression technology with HTML5 technology. Not only a single wide-screen display but also the combination and adjustment of screens with setop box, OLED, media facades, and lase beam projectors are transformed into various forms to enable creative and diverse attempts for graphic designers. This study focuses on the application of motion graphics in rapidly evolving future platform - digital signage, and looking forward to help digital video content creator, researchers, and motion graphic designers.

  • It has recently been combined with advanced technologies such as AR and VR, and its application range is expanding to various forms of smart signage. However, until now, digital signage service that reaches us is installed in many floating populations such as bus stops, elevators, and banks and is used in the form of providing news, weather, and advertisements. In addition, large companies, government offices, and outdoor advertising companies occupy the market. The use of such services in small and medium-sized businesses and small retail stores is costly and expensive to manage. Also, it is difficult to generalize the market because services and solutions are being deployed in the market in the form of top-down. Therefore, in this paper, we proposed a digital signage system for transmitting a remote video advertisement that uses a show window in front of the store as a beam project screen for small retail stores, and can remotely set and manage and update it in OSGi service platform.

The Impact of Interactivity in Smart Signage and Flow on the Engagement and Memory Accessibility (스마트 사이니지의 상호작용성과 플로우(Flow)가 인게이지먼트와 기억 접근성에 미치는 영향)

  • The purpose of this study is to establish smart signage in a certain space and to analyze not only media ingestion and advertising inducement as well as any information (high vs. low vs. low) and flow level And the memory effect related to whether or not to remember. The results of this study show that the higher the interaction level and the higher the engagement level, the higher the advertising engagement is. In addition, media involvement was high when interaction level was low and flow level was high. Finally, if the level of interactivity is low and the level of flow is high, then non - valued attribution information is more likely to be recalled than the comprehensive evaluation information. If the interaction of smart signage is high and the flow of users is low, Recalled more recall information. In the future, detailed strategies for enhancing user flow will be needed rather than a strategy for unconditional enhancement of interaction in smart signage strategy.
