The purpose of this report was to describe the gait pattern and parameters of the complicated bilateral amputee with right transtibial and left tarsometatarsal amputation. Using a Vicon 370 three dimensional gait analysis system, the gait analysis was performed at pre and post-test. Treadmill Training with 15 degree, incline was practiced for 8weeks, 3times per week. In linear parameters, the Velocity, Stride length and Single limb support were increased than pre-test. but Cadence and Double limb support were less post-test than pre-test. In kinematics, the maximal pelvic tilt angle showed right side $21.87^{\circ}$, left side $20.67^{\circ}$ at pre-swing phase, and decreased as compared with pre-test. Especially, the inimal hip flexion angle showed right side $-6.83^{\circ}$, left side $1.52^{\circ}$ at pre-swing phase and increased as compared with pre-test. The maximal knee flexion angle disclosed right side $2.66^{\circ}$, left side $21.71^{\circ}$ at stance phase, and decreased as compared with pre-test. In kinetics, the hip extension moment on initial contact stage was right side 0.938NM/Kg, left side 0.09NM/Kg, which was impaired compared with normal person.
In this study, a fillet size for bending fatigue strength of one side fillet welded T-joint, used in box type girder and other welding structure, was investigated by bending fatigue test with or without edge preparation and burn through, with variation of joint shape. As a result, the following conclusions were obtained. (1) In one side fillet welded T-joint, the larger the leg length, the greater the bending fatigue strength. The increase in bending fatigue strength. (2) One side filet welded T-joint with edge preparation showed higher bending fatigue strength than that with twofold-large leg length and without edge preparation. (3) In one side fillet welded T-joint without edge preparation, both manual welding and automatic welding were carried out with same condition. In this case, automatic welding shoed deeper penetration and more increased horizontal leg length than manual welding, so that automatic welding offers grater bending fatigue strength. (4) For one side fillet welded T-joint without edge preparation, the ratio(h/t) of the leg length (h) and the main plate thickness (t) in which toe crack can occur was 1.2 over. (5) In one side fillet welded T-joint with edge preparation, the burn through led to reduced bending fatigue strength. However, this bending fatigue strength was higher than that of one side fillet welded T-joint without edge preparation and with a larger leg length.
This study was performed to investigate the factor that might affect mandibualr body rotation. For the study, 115 patients with temporomandibular disorders and 35 dental students without angy signs and symptoms of temporomandibular disorders were randomly selected as the patient group and the contreol group, respectively. Preferred chewing side, Angle' classification, lateral guidance pattern, and affected side were clinically recorded, and the amount of Mandibular body rotational torque movement was measured in wide opening and closure, in right and left excursion with vertical and lateral distance in frontal plane, right and left rotational angel in horizontal and in frontal plane. Masticatory muscle activity of anteriorocclusal contact pattern on maximal hard biting were also observed synchronously with BioEMG and T-Scan , respectively. The observed items were muscle activity of anterior temporalis and superficial masseter, and tooth contact status related to contact number, force, duration, and occlusal unbalance between right and left arch. The data collected were analyzed by SAS statistical program. The results of this study were as follows : 1. Mean value of vertical distance in frontal plane in wide opening and closure was more in control subjects than in patients, but there was no difference for rotational angle. In right excursion, rotational angles were greater in patient group than in control group. 2. Comparison among the subjects by preferred chewing side did not reveal any significant difference, but comparison among patients by affected side showed more rotational amount in bilaterally affected patients than in unilaterally affected patients. 3. Comparison among the subjects by Angle's classification or lateral guidance pattern revealed no difference. There was also no difference between preferred chewing side and contralateral side, and between affected side and contralateral side. 4. Positive correlation in madibular rotational torque movements were observed among vertical distance, total horizontal rotation angle, electromyographic activity of anterior temporalis, tooth contact number, and tooth contact force but total frontal rotation angle almost did not show any correlation with other variables except vertical distance.

In this research, the effect of rock mass weathering on the side shear resistance of drilled shaft socketed into weathered rock was investigated. For that, a database of 23 cast-in-place concrete piles with diameters varying from 400mm to 1,500mm were socketed into weathered igneous/meta-igneous rock at four different sites. The static axial load tests were performed to examine the resistant behavior of the piles, and a comprehensive field/laboratory testing program at the field test site was also performed to describe the in situ rock mass conditions quantitatively. No correlation was found between the compressive strengths of intact rock and the side shear resistance of weathered/soft rock. The ground investigation data regarding the rock mass conditions (e.g. $E_m,\;E_{ur},\;_{plm}$, RMR, RQD, j) was found to be highly correlated with the side shear resistance, showing the coefficients of correlation greater than 0.7 in most cases. Additionally, the applicability of existing methods for the side shear resistance of piles in rock was verified by comparison with the field test data. The existing empirical relations between the compressive strength of intact rock and the side shear resistance(Horvath (1982), Rowe & Armitage(1987) etc.) appeared to overestimated the side shear resistance of all piles tested in this research unless additional consideration on the effect of rock mass weathering or fracturing was applied. The existing methods which consider the effect of rock mass condition were modified and/or extended for weathered rock mass where mass factor j is lower than 0.1, and RQD is below 50%.

3-Dimensional System in Package (3-D SiP) structure (Amkor calls it mPossum-molded Possum) using double side Surface Mount Technology (SMT) and double side molding was evaluated in order to achieve small/thin form factor as well as good functionality by integration and double side layout. As the new platform on laminate substrate basis, molding process was challenge in mold flow balance at top and bottom side and package warpage control over the overall assembly process. There were two types of different molding process evaluated with 1) 1-step molding which was done at both side at the same time and 2) 2-step molding which was done at the conventional molding process twice. Mold simulation helped to narrow down the material selections and parameters available before actual sample build. There were many challenges for this first trial in design/ parameter and material types but optimized them to enable this structure.

PURPOSE: This study was aim to the change of muscle activities of lower extremity and waist during lifting a small object on the floor according to different foot position of women in their twenties wearing a skirt. METHODS: 9 women in their twenties wearing a skirt were selected and were measured the muscle activities of medial gastrocnemius (MG), tibialis anterior (TA), vastus lateralis (VL) and iliocostalis (IC) when they lifted a small object on the floor. The two different foot position employed were "both feet posed straight side by side" (condition 1) and "both feet posed diagonally to 45 degree" (condition 2) used. The order of feet position was selected randomly and the subject took a rest for 30 min between tests to prevent muscle fatigue. We calculated the mean and standard deviation of muscle activities and used Mann-Whitney U test to compare the difference between the two foot positions with SPSS(IBM Korea) RESULTS: The muscle activity of condition 2 was greater than that of condition 1 in right side of TA, VL, and IC and left side of TA, VL, MG and IC. The right side of TA, VL and left side VL were significant difference between condition 1 and condition 2(p<.05). CONCLUSION: We suggest "both feet posed straight side by side" position is better if a woman wearing a skirt lift the small object and it will help prevent the low back and lower limb problems in the future.
This study was carried out to investigate the variation of mulberry yield in various parts of mulberry field. The results obtained from the study are summarized as follows. 1. For all the varieties, higher yield was observed side part than in the middle part. 2. With respect to the direction of field, the side faced south produced the highest yield, which was followed both side parts faced east and west. The side part fated north also produced relatively high yield. 3. No significant difference in yield was obtained between the central part and the near the each side, even the former seemed to be some what higher in yield than the latter. 4. Such a variety as Kaeryangsuban havins small leaves on many twigs with small internodes appeared to have more side effect than the otherwise variety, i.e. Rosang. 5. The variety Kaeryangsuban, showed more side effect in spring than in Autumm, however Rosang showed reversed effect. 6. Similar results were obtained in the leaf dry weight. 7. As a conclusion, it can he an important factor to increase yield to set up the mulberry field in east and west resulting less side effect.

In chronic ambulatory hemiplegic patients, structural changes might be developed at both ankles possibly due to unequal and repetitive weight bearing on tendons and ligaments. We examined ankles by sonography to find out structural changes of tendons and ligaments of both ankles in ambulatory hemiplegic patients. Nineteen ambulatory hemiplegic patients over 1 year were included as study subjects. All subjects had no previous trauma or disease history in their ankle joints and they were able to walk independently or with supervision but had spastic ankles with equinovarus tendency. We examined both ankle joints by sonography to see joint effusion and measure width, thickness, and area of tendons of the tibialis anterior, tibialis posterior, and Achilles, and also ligaments of the anterior talofibular and calcaneofibular. We compared sonographic features of the hemi-side ankle with the sound-side ankle. There were no significant differences between hemi-side and sound-side ankles in almost all measured parameters of tendons and ligaments. However, the width of the hemi-side tibialis posterior tendon ($7.24{\pm}1.52$ mm) was narrower than the sound-side tendon ($8.61{\pm}1.37$ mm). With the amount of active joint motion and weight bearing possibly preventing ligament and tendon atrophy even though marked weakness, spasticity occurred during the chronic hemiplegic phase.
The ambiguity of spatial language can be a source of communication problems. For instance, the 'the opposite side' in a sentence such as 'where is the opposite side of building X' can mean more than one direction. Research interests are focused on the directions of a spatial language 'the opposite side'. This study also explored the effect of geometric properties such as reference object's shape and distance from the reference object and spatial reference frame in the comprehension of 'the opposite side'. The assessment tasks used consisted of rating how appropriate the sentence 'where is the opposite side of building X' was to describe a series of pictures. The results of experiment suggest that 'the opposite side' means in most cases more than one direction simultaneously. Changing spatial reference frame has significant effects on individuals' rating of the tasks. However, while reference object's shape (prolonged building) has a consistent effect of the ratings given, the distance from the reference object (shortened road width) has limited influence in comprehending the tasks.
Objective : To ascertain whether the concept of the treatment side is associated with changes in the blind spot mapping that represents the brain function. Methods : Among the outpatients who visited to Department of Acupuncture & Moxibustion, National Medical Center from March 2002 to October 2002, we selected 40 clinical trial volunteers that showed right side physiological blind spot more enlarged than left, and underwent the examinations of Department of Opthalmology, National Medical Center for ruling out the pathological conditions. Physiological blind spot maps were used as an integer of brain activity before and after electroacupuncture application on the unilateral ST36 meridian point by dividing 40 subjects into two comparative groups for double-blind controlled study. Results: The significant changes in the blind spots were observed. Electroacupuncture application on the ipsilateral or contralateral ST36 of an enlargement cortical map were associated with the concept of determining the treatment side. In the case of electroacupuncture application on the ipsilateral side of an enlarged blind spot, there were decrease of $4.11{\pm}8.56cm$(17.3%) in blind spot perimetry length(p < 0.05). In the case of contralateral side, there were increase of $3.19{\pm}5.40cm$(13.7%) in blind spot perimetry length(p<0.05). The Differences were statistically significant(p<0.05). Conclusions: We found that eletroacupuncture application was associated with an increase or decrease in the brain function in the view of blind spot changes depending on the treatment side. These results suggest that the traditional acupuncture therapeutic strategy with determining the treatment side has clinical significance in the view of the brain function.
