Thermoplastic elastomer(TPE) can be recycled and molded such as commercial thermoplastic. Therefore TPE has being widely applied on automobile, household and etc. in these days. This study shows the variation of mechanical properties and shrinkage on TPE moldings for variation of injection molding conditions such as injection pressure, holding pressure, melt temperature, mold temperature and etc. Mechanical properties in relation to tensile strength, hardness and shrinkage in connection with precision dimension of part are investigated. The tensile strength and shrinkage of the experimental TPEs are mainly influenced by injection pressure and melt temperature. All injection molding conditions scarcely affect on hardness. To verify the variation of tensile strength and shrinkage, morphology of TPE molding was scanned by the SEM. The morphology showed that as the melt temperature increased, the rubber particles on the TPE became smaller and widely were dispersed. This behavior of rubber particles influenced on the increase of tensile strength.

The purpose of this study was to evaluate the shrinkage properties of a tile reinforced with epoxy resin, which has the advantages of high adhesion and low shrinkage, and causes a hardening reaction by chemical bonding with cement mortar. As a result, since the epoxy resin adhesive suppresses the moisture evaporation of the mortar, the drying shrinkage of the mortar itself is reduced, accordingly, the shrinkage of the tile itself is greatly reduced, and it is thought that it is possible to prevent a decrease in adhesion due to shear stress.
Filling materials poured into precast member joint are subjected to restraint stress by the precast member and joint reinforcement. The induced stress will likely cause cracks at early ages and performance degradation of the entire structure. To prevent these issues and design reasonable joints, it is very important to analyze and evaluate the restrained shrinkage cracks of filling materials at various restraint conditions. In this study, a new time zero-that defines the shrinkage development time of a filling material-is proposed to calculate the accurate amount of shrinkage. The tensile stresses and strengths at different ages were compared through the ring test (AASHTO PP34) to evaluate the crack potential of the restrained filling materials at various restraint conditions. The mixture which contained an expansive additive and a shrinkage reducing agent exhibited high resistance to shrinkage cracking owing to the high-drying shrinkage compensation effect. The high-performance, fiber-reinforced cement composite, and ultra-high-performance, fiber-reinforced cement composite yielded very high resistance to shrinkage and cracking owing to the pull-out property of steel fibers. To this end, multiple nonlinear regression analyses were conducted based on the test results. Accordingly, a modified tensile stress equation that considered both the geometric shape of the specimen and the intrinsic properties of the material is proposed.
In this study, we compared a plain mortar with the CAS-system shrinkage compensation mortar for Ondol that is Korean traditional heating system. The Ondol mortar is necessary to have properties as non-crack, fine flatness and stability for thermal changes. especially, mortar'crack prevention is to be most important property in Ondol mortar. To develope the stable material on the crack-prevention, we used to calcium-sulfo-aluminate(CSA)system in shrinkage compensation mortar. And so, we confirmed the effects of calcium-sulfo-aluminate(CSA) system for mortar's physical properties such as setting time, compressive strength and expansion ratio for crack prevention. The initial and final setting time of the CSA mortar is faster than plain mortar about 2hours. And, Compressive strength increased about 20% that plain mortar. The crack length per unit area, plain mortar is 0.426∼0.481m/m2. The Results of apartment construction field test, the shrinkage compensation mortar is excellent about the crack-reduce effect.

In this study, mock-up test for high strength concrete with ERCO has been carried to analyse the effect of autogenous shrinkage reducing of using ERCO. The following results could be made as the conclusion. Results of EIS were lower than 2.5 and showed good resistance for separation of materials. For the setting time, specimen with ERCO showed delay of setting comparing with Plain. For the autogenous shrinkage, as the generation of saponification, capillary pores inside the concrete were filled by soap and the autogenous shrinkage has been obviously decreased. It could be identified that using ERCO in high strength showed good effect on reducing autogenous shrinkage in high strength concrete.

Studies aimed at reducing the occurrence of cracks by the shrinkage of concrete are in demand because the repair and reinforcement for cracks caused by declining concrete durability costs the user to maintain the concrete structure. In particular, in underground power facilities for power transmission, the cost is a heavy burden to repair and reinforce. For this reason, underground power facilities demanded effective methods for crack reduction at the engineering design step. This study, as a part of the development of shrinkage reducing agent for low shrinkage concrete on underground power facilities, investigated TEA to complement the shrinkage reducing agent to improve the early strength of concrete. In the case of TEA 3% as a shrinkage reducing agent, the early strength was improved significantly, and the shrinkage reducing effect was excellent. In addition, TEA 3.0 % and the shrinkage reducing agent 2.0 % showed excellent shrinkage property and compressive strength. On the other hand, more study of shrinkage reducing materials, including performance reviews on the shrinkage reducing materials with variable factors and type of materials, will be needed to generalize these results.

Hybrid SHCC is being researched actively for its excellent performance in controlling macro and micro cracks using macro and micro fibers, respectively. However, a significant autogenous shrinkage of SHCC is expected since it possesses high unit cement volume in its mix proportion, resulting in autogenous shrinkage cracks. Therefore, this study was performed to evaluate mechanical property of shrinkage-reducing type hybrid SHCC mixed together with steel fiber and PE fiber with excellent micro/macro crack controlling performance. In order to evaluate mechanical property of shrinkage-reducing type hybrid SHCC, replacement ratios of 0% and 10% of expansive admixture and water to binder ratios of 0.45, 0.3, and 0.2 were considered as variables. Then, shrinkage, compressive, flexural, and direct tensile tests were performed. The test results showed that mix proportion with W/B 0.3 significantly improved mechanical performance by using 10% replacement of expansive admixture.
This study surveys the physical properties of ATY produced with FDY and POY. ATY is made with 70d Nylon FDY and 80d Nylon POY using AIKI air jet texturing machines, respectively. The processing parameters such as air pressure and yam speed are varied, and air pressure is varied ranging with 8.5bar, l0.5bar and 1l.5bar, and yarn speed is varied ranging with 400m/mim, 450m/mim, and 500m/min. The various physical properties of ATY made by POY and FDY denier, wet shrinkage, dry shrinkage, tensile properties, thermal stress and instability are measured and discussed with air pressure and yam speed. The shrinkage simulation of ATY is performed for analysing the process shrinkage on the dyeing and finishing processes.

Reclaimed asphalt pavement (RAP) is abundant substitute for natural aggregate in many areas. It is obtained by crushing of old road pavements in milling machine during rehabilitation and reconstruction process. In this study, reclaimed asphalt pavement mortars (RAPM) have been produced with different cement dosages and replacement ratios. The destructive and nondestructive tests have been conducted on specimens to determine physical and mechanical properties of RAPM. The free and restrained shrinkage tests on RAPM have been conducted to predict fractural behavior of mortars. The aim of the shrinkage tests was to delay crack formation and improve strain capacity of mortars before cracking. The results showed that RAPM exhibits lower elasticity modulus; however the tensile capacity was improved for deformation before cracking.
One of the most important factors for the clinical success of adhesive posterior restorations is marginal adaptation. This property is very closely related to mechanical properties and to the shrinkage behavior of composite materials. Most of modem composite materials are light-cured. This is why the first part of this lecture will be confined to our recent research on light curing, such as plasma polymerization, LED polymerization and the power of modem halogen lamps. In the second part of the lecture the shrinkage properties such as dimensional shrinkage and shrinkage forces of different light curing materials and during different curing procedures will be discussed. Finally, in the third part of the lecture, marginal adaptation before and after loading in different cavity classes and by using different restorative techniques and curing procedures will be presented. Data will also be given on wear resistance, abrasiveness against opposing cusps and postcuring of composite materials.(omitted)
