  • The purpose of the study was to examine the relationships among gender, shopping motivations, flow experience, and purchases using structural equation modeling. Shopping motives were included in the study: self-refreshment, idea seeking, social interaction, product acquisition, and value seeking. Data from 452 male and female respondents were employed to test the model. Empirical findings supported that the proposed model was a good fit to data. Gender played an influential role in shopping motives. All motives except for product acquisition motive significantly influenced flow experience. Flow experiences enhance the purchasing. This study contributed the literature by providing a conceptual foundation of how gender and shopping motivation influence flow experience.

  • Means-Ends Network model was used to identify factors of means objective(means supplied by vendor) and fundamental objectives(purchasing motivations) for purchasing decision-making structure and dimensions of customer values on purchasers of internet shopping mall in Korea and China. In Means-Ends Network 6 factors(shopping travel, shipping assurance, vendor trust, online payment, product choice, and recommender systems) were found as a means objectives and 3 factors(shopping convenience, internet environment, customer support) as a fundamental objectives of shopping. However the results of hypotheses test for Means-Ends Network show some important differences between two countries. Something important to notice here is that Chinese customers shopping in China recognize shipping assurance factor and vendor trust factor as important factors satisfying all fundamental objectives unlike as in the case of our country. As these two factors are attribution factors responsible to the sellers, it is identified that customers do not trust the sellers and sellers have not met the expectations of customers. Therefore, these results show that the seller efforts assuring the reliability of the seller themselves, such as conducting its own compensation scheme are more important rather than the establishment of the guarantee institution to guarantee reliability and delivery assurance of sellers and implementation of legal and institutional apparatus such as the settlement of e-commerce licence system. Though this study presents such an important marketing implications, it can be pointed out that the limits are this research was done on the general Internet shopping malls without considering the Internet shopping mall types of diversity, the survey was designed around the student samples for convenience of the investigation because it was an international survey and the collected data has been limited to the western coast cities, such as China's Beijing, Shanghai, and Dalian.

  • Purpose - This study examines the effects of purchasing factors of consumers based on customer satisfaction and repurchasing intention buying through Internet shopping malls. The subject of this study are Chinese residents who have lived over a year in Korea. Research design, data, and methodology - In this study, former research related with internet shopping malls' customer satisfaction and repurchase intention was revised. Based on past research, the internet shopping mall purchasing factors divided to 4 factors; factors of product, price, service, and promotion. 5 hypotheses were made. They are

Product factors of internet shopping malls have meaningful effect to customer satisfaction,

Price factors of internet shopping malls have meaningful effect to customer satisfaction,

Service factors of internet shopping malls have meaningful effect to customer satisfaction,

Promotion factors of internet shopping malls have meaningful effect to customer satisfaction,

Customer satisfaction factors of internet shopping malls have meaningful effect to customer repurchase intention. Measurements developed 4~5 items to each factor and questionnaires were made. The survey was conducted on 1,000 Chinese people. Out of 292 surveys, 9 were excluded which responded nothing or were unfilled. Finally 283 surveys were used in empirical analysis with SPSS 22.0 statistical program. Hypotheses were verified by structural equation modeling. Results - The following conclusions are shown in the empirical study. First, the service and promotion factors of internet shopping mall have effects on customer satisfaction. Second, customer (Chinese people who live in Korea) satisfaction have effects on repurchase intention. Third, the products value and price level of internet shopping mall have strong effects on repurchasing intention. Conclusions - There are suggestions that Chinese customers satisfied with Korean internet shopping malls might increase their royalty to the shopping malls as possibility of repurchase arises. This study has differentiating points with preceding researches that subjected residents in Korea. But there are limitations that this study also used purchasing factors used in preceding studies. Also this study has limitations, such as generalization in global market circumstances because this study subjected only Chinese people and not global customers. Therefore, further study executed complementary with those limitations would be an interesting study.

A decision tree model was developed to examine the relationship between the explanatory and response variables, which can be either quantitative or qualitative in nature. Findings - The main findings of this study indicate that there are differences in shopping behavior among different customer segments. The results show that men have a simpler shopping behavior compared to women. Additionally, cultural factors and the difference in fashion needs between students and non-students have a significant impact on the shopping choices of Chinese and Korean individuals. Originality/value - Existing studies often assume that the shopping behavior of high school and university students is similar and that there are no significant differences in clothing purchases between men and women across countries. The results provide valuable insights into the unique shopping behavior of different customer segments, and can inform fashion businesses in their efforts to meet the needs of their customers.

  • This study investigates the effect of service ubiquity perceptions on consumers' responses to virtual stores such as benefit and risk perceptions, shopping value perceptions, and service usage intention. Data were collected via a self-administered online survey from nationwide consumer panels of an online marketing research firm. Questionnaire items were adopted from previous literature and developed by authors via pretesting to measure variables. The results revealed that virtual store service ubiquity affects consumer benefit perceptions as well as risk perceptions. All benefit perceptions (including time effectiveness, user control, and compatibility) had significant mediating effects between service ubiquity and hedonic/utilitarian shopping service value perceptions. The mediating effect of financial risk was significant only in the relationship between service ubiquity and utilitarian value perception. The findings offer retailers and marketers information in regards to consumers' perception of a virtual store usage, which can enhance service and product strategy.
