This paper examines the corporate parent effect on the diversification strategies of triad and Asian subsidiaries in the ASEAN region. I find that triad subsidiaries tend to participate in high technology intensive industries, and are more likely to diversify. In addition, I also find that the subsidiary diversification strategy is significantly affected by the number of affiliations under the same corporate parent that perform the same or different activities in the region. These results shed light on the influence of corporate parent on subsidiary-level strategy and the role of the subsidiary within an economically integrated region. Various implications are discussed.

Based on the exact quantization rule for the nonrelativistic Schrodinger equation, the exact quantization rule for the relativistic one-dimensional Klein-Gordon equation is suggested. Using the new quantization rule, the exact relativistic energies for exactly solvable potentials, e.g. harmonic oscillator, Morse, and Rosen-Morse II type potentials, are obtained. Consequently the new quantization rule is found to be exact for one-dimensional spinless relativistic quantum systems. Though the physical meanings of the new quantization rule have not been fully understood yet, the present formal derivation scheme may shed light on understanding relativistic quantum systems more deeply.

The possibility of detection of deviation from Gaussian distribution of primordial perturbations in the Cosmic Microwave Background (CMB) Radiation is very important because it can shed light on how the perturbations were created in the very early universe. We study the effect of the primordal non-Gaussianity on topological observables called Minkowski Functionals, which are functions of the temperature fluctuation field, and show that they carry distinct signatures of different types of non-Gaussianities. Then, we constrain the non-Gaussianity parameters by comparing the theoretical predictions of the Minkowski Functionals with measurements from observational data from WMAP.

EPDM/silicone blend was prepared with polyorganosiloxane compatibilizer for out-door polymer insulation used to shed. Each blend had various weight ratios, 100/0, 90/10, 70/30, 50/50, 30/70, 10/90, and 0/100 as EPDM to silicone, and electrical and tracking characteristics were studied with the method of IEC 60587. And also, tracking properties and contact angle related to UV-weathering period were studied to understand the degree of degradation of blend after 1000 h UV-weathering.

There is a controversy over the necessity of information intermediaries in virtual market. This study tried to suggest several reasons why they would still flourish in virtual market. It also tried to find out their roles and to forecast their role changes in the future on the basis of Delphi analysis. Though an exploratory study, this can shed some lights on the future studies related to information intermediaries and virtual market.

The 1968 Huế Massacre is a horrifying event rarely mentioned today in Vietnamese history and mass media. It is forgotten perhaps because it is simply indescribable. This study reads a song by Vietnamese musician Trịnh Công Sơn, where he attempted to chronicle the catastrophic images of the massacre. We use the notion of symbolic death in psychoanalysis to interpretation of the song, and shed a new light on how it captured this historical event which eludes understanding.

The purpose of this paper is to shed light on the development timeline of video gaming in Vietnam. This paper would examine how Southeast Asia has become a key component in constructing the facade of the global gaming industry, focusing on Vietnam. As a communist country, Vietnam showed a distinctive pattern of video gaming reception. Video gaming has become a popular amusement among Vietnamese youth and has also helped Vietnam integrate into the modern world after the Vietnam War.
