  • We proposed a method for synthesized nanoparticle trapping in capacitively coupled plasma (CCP) reactor. The nanoparticle in nonthermal plasma can be negatively charged by a charged particle in plasma. Thus, it can be placed between sheath and bulk plasma with zero net force on nanoparticle. However, synthesized nanoparticle can be pumped out due to the neutral drag force when the large size of sheath thickness. We try to make a potential well using the sheath for trapping the synthesized nanoparticle.

  • The control of particle concentration distribution in a pipe with an orifice and a sheath air is numerically investigated. When using Eulerian approach, there is no great change in the concentration distribution by the shape of orifice and molecular diffusivity. As the Reynolds number becomes small, the effect of orifice on the concentration distribution is decreased. For small Reynolds number, the concentration distribution can be effectively controlled by using a sheath air. The effect of the sheath air on the concentration distribution is increased, as the Reynolds number becomes small.

  • The three different polymer compounds were manufactured with the three different fire retardant (silane coated magnesium dihydroxide) contents, 180, 200, 220 phr, for making cable sheath for ship industry. In the research, ethylene-vinylacetate, polyethylene as matrix polymers and ethylene-vinylacetate grafted maleic anhydride as coupling agent were selected for compounding with fire retardant, closslinking agent, plasticizer, and other additives. In the evaluation. ΔT, Mooney viscosity, and tensile strength increased with the content of fire retardant. But it was found that too much fire retardant damaged aging resistance and cold resistance of the polymer compound.

  • The ion energy distributions (IEDs) arriving at a substrate strongly affect the etching rates in plasma etching processes. In order to determine the IEDs accurately, it is important to obtain the characteristics of radio frequency (rf) sheath at pulsed rf substrates. However, very few studies have been conducted to investigate pulsing effect on IEDs at multiple rf driven electrodes. Therefore, in this work, we extended previous one-dimensional dynamics model for pulsed-bias electrodes. We obtained the IEDs using the developed rf sheath model and observed that numerically solved IEDs are in a good agreement with the experimental results.

  • Malignant peripheral nerve sheath tumor (MPNST) is a rare and often aggressive soft tissue sarcoma originating from the sheaths of peripheral nerves. Approximately 50% of MPNSTs occur in patients with neurofibromatosis (NF). These tumors often present as deep soft tissue lesions, arising from the nerve plexuses of the extremities or from the nerves extending from the trunk. They rarely occur in the skin, especially in patients with NF. Herein, we report our experience with an MPNST of the skin in a patient with NF.

  • Malignant peripheral nerve sheath tumor(MPNST, primary malignant schwannoma) within the spinal canal is very rare. The prognosis of MPNST in the spinal canal is very poor due to the tendency of perineural spread, dissemination throughout subarachnoid space and local recurrance. This report details the authors' experience on the case of primary malignant spinal schwannoma with review of the literatures and other studies.

  • Malignant peripheral nerve sheath tumors (MPNSTs) usually arise in soft tissues; they are rarely found in the bone. This paper reports a case of MPNST in the foot and ankle joint involving the distal tibia, talus, calcaneus, navicular, medial intermediate, and lateral cuneiform, cuboid, and 2nd to 4th metatarsal bone. Palliative treatment was performed. The authors encountered a patient with intraosseous MPNST of the midfoot who presented with nonspecific clinical and radiologic findings. This case shows that a high index of suspicion and a histopathology examination, including immunohistochemistry, will be necessary for an accurate diagnosis.

  • Malignant peripheral nerve sheath tumors are rare sarcomas of the heart. Herein, we report the case of a 24-year-old man who complained of dyspnea, cough, and upper left back pain. He was found to have multiple primary heart tumors obstructing the right superior pulmonary vein in the left atrium, which were diagnosed as malignant peripheral nerve sheath tumors. The patient underwent successful resection of the tumors and immunohistochemistry was utilized for diagnosis.

  • The four different polymer compounds were manufactured to make cable sheath for ship industry. Two kinds of ethylene-vinyl acetate (EVA) were selected as main matrix polymers for compounding with fire retardant, crosslinking agent, filler, plasticizer, and other additives. The properties of the four compounded materials were investigated with the contents of fire retardant, silane coated aluminum hydroxide (S-ATH). Rheology, Mooney viscosity, and tensile strength increased with S-ATH contents by reinforcing effect. With increasing fire retardant amount, fire resistance increased, but cold resistance didn't show an obvious enhancement due to polar effect of vinyl acetate in EVA.

  • Malignant peripheral nerve sheath tumor (MPNST) is rare, accounting for 5-10% of all soft tissue sarcomas. MPNST is characteristically aggressive and has a poor prognosis. Fifty percent of patients with MPNST have neurofibromatosis type 1 (NF1). NF-associated MPNST occurs more often at younger ages than sporadic MPNST, but the survival difference is controversial. Superficial MPNST from a recurrent neurofibroma is extremely rare and only a limited number of cases have been reported in the literature. Herein, we report an unusual case of superficial MPNST from a recurrent neurofibroma in a patient without NF1.
