The purpose of this study is to look for a development plan for strategic brand logo by a means of scrutinizing general characteristics and trend in the visual properties of outdoor logo brands. In this study, data research and analysis were conducted over the 68 outdoor brands in circulation in the domestic market based on the information on the website of each brand in order to examine the visual characteristics of an outdoor brand logo. For this, it was performed to examine the desired brand concept of each brand and to analyze the visual characteristics of typeface, color, and type of logo. The results of this research are the followings: First, it was found that the most popular typeface in outdoor brand logos is a capitalized Gothic type. It seems that the logo type is designed to symbolize power, toughness, and masculinity and to express the concept of sportswear brand. Second, when it comes to color, black color tone appeared most frequently, and also reddish colors among chromatic colors were prevailing over others like green, blue, or yellow. It is believed that reddish colors were used to express passion, power, youthfulness, and energy; black color tone for tough, masculine power. Third, the logo symbol of outdoor brands mostly contains mountain, the heads of powerful animals, spherical shape/abstract image that embodies outdoor sports activities. It was analyzed that these resulting symbols were chosen to convey the images of nature, conquest, challenge, future, and passion that are the brand concept of most outdoor brands. Today, in our country, the logo of an outdoor brand is the important factor that symbolizes the brand concept, function, or characteristics. Therefore, the necessity of constant follow-up researches is required to devise the way of designing the brand logo that can build brand power and enhance brand image.

A hat is a general term for what human beings wear on their heads in order to protect them from the cold or heat, to be used for ornament, or to symbolize social position. A hat represents the position of a man who wears it, attitude toward the society, and faith for a religion for males. Since men's hats can create their image and uniqueness in casual wear from current fashion items, they are proposed as a fashion accessory item of designers each season. The purpose of this study is to review hats, which are part of costume, in a more analytic method. The research range of this study is hats for men in the upper class in the 17th to 18th centuries from the history of costume when diverse periodic and characteristic costume changes occurred. In the 17th to 18th centuries in the middle of the Chosun Dynasty, changes in costume occurred as the feudal society of the dynasty had been dissolved since the Japanese invasion in 1592. Political power was established in France as the Baroque Age began in the 17th century. Since European costume, especially women's costume led fashion in France, the country represented the age better than any other countries. Aristocratic costume in the Rococo Age of the 18th century was changed to completely different shape of costume after the French Revolution. In this regard, this age was deemed to be the most appropriate for the comparison or costume. Another purpose of this study is to review the common and different features of periodic factors that affect changes in costume by researching the hats of the two countries in the same age in order to understand relation between periodic characteristics and costume throughout history of costume.
Failure of in vitro fertilization may occur even though oocyte and semen parameters seem satisfactory. Quantified ultrastructural study of spermatozoa was performed in three cases of failed in vitro fertilization. The results were compared to those of four fertile men. Quantification was achieved by cataloguing cell defects of the spermatozoon heads and mid/principal pieces of the flagella. Using the data from each specimen, the percentages of total cellular abnormalities in the head/mid/principal pieces were established. The percentages of anomalies of the midpiece and of the principal piece were not significantly different between failed cases and controls. The percentage of cell alterations of the head (96-100 vs 75${\pm}$3,4%), the percentage of combined anomalies of the head (80-86 vs 52.5${\pm}$1.9%), and the percentages of nuclear shape deformation (68-86 vs 47.5${\pm}$6.3%), acrosomal defects (86-96 vs 50${\pm}$4.3%), and postacrosomal sheath defects (78-88 vs 44.5${\pm}$7.2%) of the head were significantly different between failed cases and controls. Due to the cost and time involved in processing semen samples for electron microscopy, the widespread application of this technique to all couples presenting for IVF certainly is not warranted. However, in selected instances electron microscopy may play a crucial role in identifying an occult male factor.
With use of (G)MR head, thermal asperity (TA) has been a big concern in drive industry. In this study, we investigated several factors of heads and disks which affects the TA sensitivity of the drive. TA experiments were conducted by introducing the particles on the drives using a particle injection chamber. It was found that the slider ABS shape can help to reduce TA or contamination in the head/media interface. However, TA sensitivity of the drive mainly depend on the intrinsic property of (G)MR sensor. GMR head is much less sensitive to TA compared with MR head. However, in case that the same bias current was applied for both of MR and GMR head, TA sensitivity of GMR head became almost identical to that of MR head. Therefore it was found that the bias current is a dominant factor in determining TA sensitivity of the head. TA sensitivity of different types of disks was also studied. The scratch resistance of the carbon overcoat layer is the one of the main factors which influence TA rejection capability of the disks.
Cow image processing technique would be useful not only for recognizing an individual but also for establishing the image database and analyzing the shape of cows. A cow (Holstein) has usually the unique speckle pattern. In this study, the individual recognition of cow was carried out using the speckle pattern and the content-based image retrieval technique. Sixty cow images of 16 heads were captured under outdoor illumination, which were complicated images due to shadow, obstacles and walking posture of cow. Sixteen images were selected as the reference image for each cow and 44 query images were used for evaluating the efficiency of individual recognition by matching to each reference image. Run-lengths and positions of runs across speckle area were calculated from 40 horizontal line profiles for ROI (region of interest) in a cow body image after 3 passes of 5$\times$5 median filtering. A similarity measure for recognizing cow individuals was calculated using Euclidean distance of normalized G-frame histogram (GH). normalized speckle run-length (BRL), normalized x and y positions (BRX, BRY) of speckle runs. This study evaluated the efficiency of individual recognition of cow using Recall(Success rate) and AVRR(Average rank of relevant images). Success rate of individual recognition was 100% when GH, BRL, BRX and BRY were used as image query indices. It was concluded that the histogram as global property and the information of speckle runs as local properties were good image features for individual recognition and the developed system of individual recognition was reliable.
This study was carried out to test feasibility of a granule fertilizer applicator for rapeseed seeding in paddy fields. The metering plate of a conventional applicator was modified for rapeseed seeding. The modified plate had new three seeding openings with total area of $342mm^2$. Average target discharging rates ranged from 6.3 to 21.0 g/s and correlated with opening areas. Application patterns of the rapeseed seeding showed M-shape. The coefficients of variation of the application showed 70.5% at 0.99 m/s of forwarding speed and 14.3 g/s of a discharge rate, and 77.7% at 1.72 m/s of a forwarding speed and 8.23 g/s of a discharge rate. The coefficients of variation in the direction of transverse of the tractor ranged from 7.3 to 47.7%. In rapeseed seeding tests using the applicator, seed damages rates were less than 15% due to the agitator, the seed hopper and the seeding plate break. Therefore, improvements of the applicator blow heads and seeding equipments were required in order to apply rapeseed efficiently.

This paper presents the design, fabrication, and testing results of a dual stage actuator system for a fine positioning of magnetic heads in magnetic disk drives. A novel rotary microactuator which is electrostatically driven and utilized as a secondary actuator was designed. The stator and rotor electrodes in the microactuator was revised to have the optimal shapes and hence produces much higher rotational torque compared with the conventional comb-shape electrodes. The microactuators were successfully fabricated using SoG(silicon on glass) processing technology, which is known as being cost-effective. The fabricated microactuator has the structural thickness of $45{\mu}m$ with the gap width of approximately $3{\mu}m$. The dynamic characteristic of microactuator/slider assembly was investigated, and its natural frequency and DC gain were measured to be 3.4kHz and 32nm/V, respectively. The microactuator/slider assembly was integrated into a HDD model V10 of Samsung Electronics Co. and a dual servo algorithm was tested to explore the tracking performance of dual stage actuator system where the LDV signals instead of magnetic head signals were used. Experimental results indicate that this system achieves the tracking accuracy of 30nm. This value corresponds to a track density of 85,000 track per inch(TPI), which is about 3 times greater than that of current hard disk drives.

Decommissioning of nuclear power plants has become a big issue in South Korea as some of the nuclear power plants in operation including Kori unit 1 and Wolsung unit 1 are getting old. Recently, Wolsung unit 1 received permission to continue operation while Kori unit 1 will shut down permanently in June 2017. With the consideration of segmentation method and disposal containers, this paper evaluated final disposal amount of radioactive waste generated from decommissioning of the reactor pressure vessel in Kori unit 1 which will be decommissioned as the first in South Korea. The evaluation results indicated that the final disposal amount from the top and bottom heads of the reactor pressure vessel with hemisphere shape decreased as they were cut in smaller more effectively than the cylindrical part of the reactor pressure vessel. It was also investigated that 200 L and 320 L radioactive waste disposal containers used in Kyung-Ju disposal facility had low payload efficiency because of loading weight limitation.

Axial and lateral behavior of helical piles is generally influenced by number, diameter, helix pitch, and locations of helices. In this study, axial and horizontal behavior of helical piles with three helices was investigated varying helices' locations, diameter, and pitch. Especially, due to the spiral shapes of helices, the effect of lateral load directions at pile heads on their lateral behavior was investigated. Axial load test of small-scale helical pile was conducted in laboratory, and its results were compared with numerical analysis results of the same model for cross check of validity of both results. Furthermore, diverse numerical analyses were performed for different shapes of helical piles. Consequently, it was found that, for the given analysis conditions, the helix diameter was the most influential factor on the horizontal and vertical behavior of helical piles.

In this paper, we present realistic 3D head modeling and facial expression systems. For 3D head modeling, we perform generic model fitting to make individual head shape and texture mapping. To calculate the deformation function in the generic model fitting, we determine correspondence between individual heads and the generic model. Then, we reconstruct the feature points to 3D with simultaneously captured images from calibrated stereo camera. For texture mapping, we project the fitted generic model to image and map the texture in the predefined triangle mesh to generic model. To prevent extracting the wrong texture, we propose a simple method using a modified interpolation function. For generating 3D facial expression, we use the vector muscle based algorithm. For more realistic facial expression, we add the deformation of the skin according to the jaw rotation to basic vector muscle model and apply mass spring model. Finally, several 3D facial expression results are shown at the end of the paper.
