  • In this study, analysis of dynamic characteristics and flight vibration was performed to unmanned aerial vehicles. The analysis model was supplemented by performing a dynamic characteristic test and a random vibration test using manufactured dummy aerial vehicle. For the dynamic characteristic test, a bungee cable was used to implement the free end boundary condition. Prior to the flight vibration test using a multiple electric shaker, a random vibration test was performed to predict the excitation force during the actual flight vibration test. It was judged that the actual test could be predicted more accurately by supplementing the analysis model from the test results. In addition, it was possible to determine the feasibility of the test by predicting the excitation force of the flight vibration test.

  • This research aims to explore factors influencing creativity among the employees of nanotechnology companies. Further, this survey aimed to investigate the role of psychological capital (PS), job satisfaction (JS) and corporate social responsibility (CSR) as sources to foster creativity. Participants included 375 employees of nanotechnology companies in China. Sequential mediation analysis revealed that creativity was significantly influenced by psychological capital, job satisfaction and corporate social responsibility. Furthermore, not only psychological capital, job satisfaction and corporate social responsibility were directly and indirectly related to creativity but also explained 67.35% variance of it. It seems that having more psychological resources, more well-being and good feelings concerning performance in the workspace and the efforts of companies to improve employee welfare are among the most important factors in increasing employee creativity. Our findings can help companies, especially nontechnology companies, in focusing on factors fostering the creativity of employees, because creativity enhances and promotes the performance and success of companies.

  • The separation of zirconium and hafnium using tributyl phosphate (TBP)-Dodecane extractants in nitric acid medium was performed. Zirconium oxychloride, used as extraction feed, was obtained from the synthesis of Kalimantan zircon sand concentrate smelted using NaOH. The extraction process was carried out by dissolving chloride-based metals in nitric acid media in the presence of sodium nitrate using TBP-Dodecane as an extractant. Some of the extraction parameters carried out in this study include variations in organic phase and aqueous phase (O/A), variations in contact time, and variations in nitric acid concentration. Extraction was carried out using a mechanical shaker according to the parameter conditions. X-ray fluorescence (XRF) was used for elemental (Zr and Hf) composition analysis of the aqueous solution. The results showed that zirconium was separated from hafnium at optimum conditions with an organic/aqueous ratio of 1:5, contact time of 75 min, and an HNO3 concentration of 7 M. The resulting separation factor of zirconium and hafnium using TBP-Dodecane was 14.4887.

  • In vertebrates, the entire central nervous system is derived from the neural tube, which is formed through a conserved early developmental morphogenetic process called neurulation. Although the perturbations in neurulation caused by genetic or environmental factors lead to neural tube defects (NTDs), the most common congenital malformation and the precise molecular pathological cascades mediating NTDs are not well understood. Recently, we have developed human spinal cord organoids (hSCOs) that recapitulate some aspects of human neurulation and observed that valproic acid (VPA) could cause neurulation defects in an organoid model. In this study, we identified and verified the significant changes in cell-cell junctional genes/proteins in VPA-treated organoids using transcriptomic and immunostaining analysis. Furthermore, VPA-treated mouse embryos exhibited impaired gene expression and NTD phenotypes, similar to those observed in the hSCO model. Collectively, our data demonstrate that hSCOs provide a valuable biological resource for dissecting the molecular pathways underlying the currently unknown human neurulation process using destructive biological analysis tools.

  • The microorganisms degrading levan were screened from soil. The isolated strain produced levanase releasing single oligosacchride from levan. The optimum cultural medium for levanase production (g/l) was composed of 0.5% levan, 0.1% $K_2HPO_4$, 0.05% NaCl, 0.3% $NaNO_3$, 0.3% yeast extract (pH 8.0). The cultivation for levanase production was carried out in 500 ml shaking flask containing 50 ml of the optimum medium at $30^{\circ}C$ on a reciprocal shaker, and the highest levanase production was observed after 54 hours of cultivation. The levanase hydrolyzed levan into single oligosaccharide. The product purified by chilled EtOH precipitation and gel filtration was detected as a single peak on HPLC analysis. The oligosaccharides formed by enzyme reaction was identified as levanheptaose (DP7) by HPLC and by ESI-MASS.

  • The effect of biomass concentration of Saccharomyces cerevisiae ATCC 24858 on specific growth rates, biomass yields, ethanol yields and productivity in the batch fermentation of rotary shaker was investigated. The specific growth rate decreased according to the increase in the biomass density and finally became zero at a biomass concentration, 55g/L. The ethanol yield $Y_{p/s}$ represented a constant value, 0.43, regardless of the change of biomass concentrations. However, the biomass yield $Y_{x/s}$ showed a trend to diminish in values with augmentation of biomass density and ultimately to reach zero at 55g/L of biomass concentration. The ethanol productivity increased linearly with biomass concentration so that, in case of initial sugar concentration, 170g/L, the productivity for 55g/L of biomass density rose up to 30g/L$\cdot$hr for all the batch fermentations. And also the ethanol concentration inhibiting completely the growth was verified 95g/L by applying experimental data to Luong's equation.

  • The production of heteropolysaccharide-7 (PS-7) by Beijerinckia indica (B. indica L3) was evaluated in shaker flask culture. The medium optimization was studied using response surface methodology (RSM). A five-level three-factor central composite design was employed to determine the maximum PS-7 yield at optimum levels for whey lactose, glucose and ammonium nitrate contents. The validity of the model could be determined by the regression coefficient, $R^2$. The values of $R^2$ were 0.72, 0.64 and 0.85 in PS-7, DCW and viscosity, respectively. The optimal medium combinations of whey lactose, glucose and ammonium nitrate concentrations on the PS-7 production were whey lactose (2%), glucose (1 %) and ammonium nitrate 5 mM, respectively. The result indicated that PS-7 production was affected significantly by the addition of glucose to whey lactose based on medium and C/N ratio.

  • Accelerometers play a key role in the structural assessment. However, the current electric type accelerometers have certain limitations to apply some structures such as heavy cabling labor, installed sea structure and sensitivity to electromagnetic fields. An optical Fiber Bragg Grating (FBG) accelerometer has many advantages over conventional electrical sensors since their immunity to electromagnetic interference and their capability to transmit signals over long distance without any additional amplifiers, and there is no corrosion from sea water. In this paper, we have developed a new FBG-based accelerometer. The accelerometer consists of two cantilevered type beams and a mass and two rollers. A bragg grating element is not directly glued to a cantilever to avoid possible non-uniform strain in the element. Instead, the bragg grating element will be attached to rotation part that rolled inducing vertical movement of the mass and support cantilever beams so that the bragg grating element is uniformly tensioned to achieve a constant strain distribution. After manufacturing, we will prove the performance and the natural frequency of the accelerometer through the experiment with a vibration shaker. The FBG-based accelerometer is developed for measuring the vibration not exceeding 50 Hz for the marine and civil structures.

  • White rot on Allium crops recently had a high incidence with incrensed cultivating areas of tropical garlic types in Korea. Two types of Sclerotium have known as causal agents that produce different size and shapes of sclerotia in infested fields. Therefore, we developed a new method for isolation of sclerotia from infested field soils that can be used for ecological study of Sclerotium spp. and establishment of control strategy. Soil samples collected from heavily infested fields were evenly mixed and placed on a automatic sieve shaker connected with tap water, After 10 min of shaking, residues on 0.5 mm and 0.25 mm sieves were separately collected and suspended with 70% sugar solution, which method floats sclerotia in aqueous layer, Then, floated fraction was carefully separated and mixed with a same volume of 1% sodium hypochlorite solution to differentiate with organic materials. This method provides a direct count of sclerotia under a dissecting microscopy.
