QSPR Study of the Absorption Maxima of Azobenzene Dyes

  • A quantitative structure-property relationship (QSPR) study was performed for the prediction of the absorption maxima of azobenzene dyes. The entire set of 191 azobenzenes was divided into a training set of 150 azobenzenes and a test set of 41 azobenzenes according to Kennard and Stones algorithm. A seven-descriptor model, with squared correlation coefficient ($R^2$) of 0.8755 and standard error of estimation (s) of 14.476, was developed by applying stepwise multiple linear regression (MLR) analysis on the training set. The reliability of the proposed model was further illustrated using various evaluation techniques: leave-many-out crossvalidation procedure, randomization tests, and validation through the test set.

Modified Ranked Ordering Set Samples for Estimating the Population Mean

  • We propose the new sampling method, called modified ranked ordering set sampling (MROSS). Kim and Kim (2003) suggested the sign test using the ranked ordering set sampling (ROSS), and showed that the asymptotic relative efficiency (ARE) of ROSS against RSS for sign test increases as sample size does. We propose the estimator for the population mean using MROSS. The relative precision (RP) of estimator of the population mean using MROSS method with respect to the usual estimator using modified RSS is higher, and when the underlying distribution is skewed, the bias of the proposed estimator is smaller than that of several ranked set sampling estimators.

품사셋에 의한 운율경계강도의 예측 (Prediction of Prosodic Boundary Strength by means of Three POS(Part of Speech) sets)

  • This study intended to determine the most appropriate POS(Part of Speech) sets for predicting prosodic boundary strength efficiently. We used 3-level POB bets which Kim(1997), one of the authors, has devised. Three POS sets differ from each other according to how much grammatical information they have: the first set has maximal syntactic and morphological information which possibly affects prosodic phrasing, and the third set has minimal one. We hand-labelled 150 sentences using each of three POS sets and conducted perception test. Based on the results of the test, stochastic language modeling method was used to predict prosodic boundary strength. The results showed that the use of each POS set led to not too much different efficiency in the prediction, but the second set was a little more efficient than the other two. As far as the complexity in stochastic language modeling is concerned, however, the third set may be also preferable.

Use of a Machine Learning Algorithm to Predict Individuals with Suicide Ideation in the General Population

  • Objective In this study, we aimed to develop a model predicting individuals with suicide ideation within a general population using a machine learning algorithm. Methods Among 35,116 individuals aged over 19 years from the Korea National Health & Nutrition Examination Survey, we selected 11,628 individuals via random down-sampling. This included 5,814 suicide ideators and the same number of non-suicide ideators. We randomly assigned the subjects to a training set (n=10,466) and a test set (n=1,162). In the training set, a random forest model was trained with 15 features selected with recursive feature elimination via 10-fold cross validation. Subsequently, the fitted model was used to predict suicide ideators in the test set and among the total of 35,116 subjects. All analyses were conducted in R. Results The prediction model achieved a good performance [area under receiver operating characteristic curve (AUC)=0.85] in the test set and predicted suicide ideators among the total samples with an accuracy of 0.821, sensitivity of 0.836, and specificity of 0.807. Conclusion This study shows the possibility that a machine learning approach can enable screening for suicide risk in the general population. Further work is warranted to increase the accuracy of prediction.

콘덴싱가스보일러 제어를 위한 공급수알고리즘 (The Supply Water Algorithm for a Condensing Gas Boiler Control)

  • The energy consumption of a condensing gas boiler may be greatly reduced by the effective operation of the unit. In this study, the supply water algorithm for a condensing gas boiler control was developed by using the fuzzy logic. This includes the supply water set temperature algorithm, and the control algorithms of a gas valve, a blower and a pump. For the set temperature algorithm, the outside air temperature and the return water temperature were used as input variables. The supply water temperature difference and its slope were used as input variables of the gas valve and blower control algorithm. And the supply water temperature and the return water temperature were used as input variables of the pump control algorithm. In order to analyse performances of these algorithms, the dynamic model of a condensing gas boiler was used. The initial start-up test, the supply water set temperature change test, the outside air temperature change test, and the return water temperature change test were performed. Simulation results showed that algorithms developed in this study may be practically applied for the effective control of a condensing gas boiler.

  • 조합회로에 대한 ATPG 알고리듬이 효율적으로 100%의 고장 검출율을 달성할 수 있게 되어 감에 따라서 고장 검출율을 그대로 유지한 상태에서 테스트 패턴을 줄이는 압축 기법의 중요성이 점차로 부각되고 있다. 본 논문에서 제시하는 알고리듬은 고장들간의 독립과 양립 관계에 기초해서, 압축된 테스트 패턴을 위해서는 양립할 수 있는 고장 집합의 크기를 크게 해야 하므로, 고장-패턴 쌍과 고장들간의 독립과 양립 관계를 이용해서 고장-패턴 쌍의 트리 구조를 생성하였다. 이 고장-패턴 트리를 바탕으로 해서 효율적으로 압축된 테스트 패턴을 생성할 수 있었고, ISCAS 85와 ISCAS 89 측정 기준 회로에 대한 결과로 제시된 알고리듬의 우수성을 검증하였다.

  • 드모르간 및 재대입 논리변환은 unate gate network (UGN)을 보다 일반적인 balanced inversion parity (BIP) network으로 전환하는데 충분하다. 이러한 회로계층에 대해서도 자세히 논의하고 있다. 우리는 드모르간 및 재대입 논리변환이 경로지연고장 테스트집합을 유지한다는 것을 증명하였다. 본 논문의 결과를 이용하여 함수 z를 구현하는 모든 UGN에서 모든 경로지연고장을 검출하는 상위수준 테스트집합은 함수 z의 어떠한 BIP realization에서도 모든 경로지연고장을 검출한다는 것을 보일 수 있다.

저자 식별을 위한 대용량 평가셋 구축 (A Large-scale Test Set for Author Disambiguation)

  • 현재의 논문 중심적 학술정보 탐색의 한계에서 벗어나 저자 중심적 검색을 제공하기 위해서는 저자명이 갖는 동명이인의 문제가 해결되어야 한다. 그 해법으로 제시된 저자식별은 논문에 출현한 저자명 개체에 실세계 연구자에 대응하는 식별자를 부여하는 작업이다. 최근의 선도적 저자식별 연구들은 90%를 상회하는 식별 성능을 보고하고 있으나 실질적인 학술정보서비스에서 저자식별 기능이 탑재된 예는 거의 없다. 본 논문에서는 학술정보서비스에 보다 직접적으로 기여할 수 있는 광범위한 저자식별 연구를 위해 한국과학기술정보연구원에서 새롭게 구축한 대용량 저자식별 평가셋에 대해 기술한다. 평가셋은 DBLP 데이터에 출현한 고빈도 저자명들에 대해 웹 검색을 통한 수작업 식별 과정을 거쳐 만들어졌다. 현재 881개 저자명에 대해 수집된 41,673개의 저자명개체레코드로 구성되어 있으며 총 6,921명의 실세계 저자 식별자가 존재한다.

  • This paper introduce a new test generation method based on built-in data base which is suitable for generating of test set by using PROLOG language. The program presented in this paper deals with all the information required for fault detection from the rules describing output signals and internal signals. Example shows the validity of proposed PROLOG program which results in a effective generation of test set comparable to the conventional D-algorithm.

  • 쉽게 시험할 수 특성을 가진 SLA 의 설계에 관해 논하였다. 제안된 SLA는 hardware를 부가함으로써 회로의 상태를 쉽게 조절하고 점검할 수 있게 하였다. 제안된 SLA는 test pattern과 응답이 SLA에 구현된 함수에 관계없고 단지 SLA의 크기에 따라 유일하게 결정되는 매우 짧은 보편적인 test sequence를 갖는다. 여기서 고려된 SLA의 고장은 단일 및 다중 stuck faults, crosspoint faults 및 bridge faults이다. 또한 고장의 위치 판별 및 그 처리에 관해서도 고찰하였다.
