  • Spent nuclear fuel is highly radioactive and requires remote operation due to radiation exposure. Motors which have been used in the highly radioactive environments are a DC type because of their easy implementation on control system. However there are some problems such as mechanical maintenance of brush and commutator, high cost, and heavy material control. AC servo motors are applied and tested on fuzzy and conventional control algorithms. Fuzzy logic controls of AC servo give adequate control accuracy and power for spent fuel handling in radioactive environments.

  • In this paper, the problem of regulation in the presence of a known firing disturbance is considered. We show how one can apply a disturbance-utilizing control(DUC) theory to a actual gun servo model. Applied disturbance-utilizing control theory is established by combining LQ regulator and reduced order observer in the discrete time domain. To see the performance of the applied method, computer simulation results are given.

  • This paper presents an approach for designing a linear multivariable servo mechanism for the case of constant and time varying disturbances. In this paper, we use an "observer-based" approach to consider the disturbance vector as states of the system and the resulting servomechanism design involves the design of an asymptotic observer which estimates both the actual plant states and the disturbance states. The design makes use of switching dynamics instead of switching logics to obtain the sliding mode and from the switching dynamics we can remove the undesirable chattering phenomena.phenomena.

  • In this paper influences of disturbances and Modeling errors are qualitatively for the linear approximation model of turret servo system, and then LQG/LTR Control theory is applied to linear approximation model in order to design a controller which satisfies robustneas/stability for the modeling errors. Finally the performance and robustness of designed controller for the given plant are verified through the simulation.

  • This paper utilizes an optimal control law for the accurate tracking servo system design. The devivation of a simple control law implementing microprocessor is made to minimize position and speed error of the controller. The 16 bit microprocessor receives command angular position and calculate the control algorithm for accurate tracking and provides control system gain scheduling to achieve very short settling time. Simulation results and some experimental results of the position controlled tracking using 4.5Kw DC servo motor are shown.

  • In this paper, the control of a DC servo motor position control is implemented with fuzzy controller using IBM PC AT. In addition to the fuzzy controller with the error and change of error inputs PI controller is applied as well to improve the steady state error response. It shows the above configuration results in a good control characteristics.

  • A hydraulic gun/turret servo system requires fast and robust controller performance because of severe operating condition and precise target tracking objective. Digital controllers are able to satisfy this requirement due to high speed electronic device. The purpose of this study is to compare with pre-EPU with new-designed optimal, adaptive controllers by simulating nonlinear hydraulic simulation program. The designed digital controller shows good tracking performance and robustness to disturbance.

  • This paper deals with the state observer-controller which observes unmeasurable state variables of the system and then uses the estimated values as feedback signals. The linearized model is deduced from the nonlinear electrohydraulic servo system. The 4th order analog linear observer-controller and the 2nd order digital one are modelled and implemented using OP amplifiers and IBM PC/XT, respectively. The two observer are experimentally used in the control of an electrohydraulic system. The results are satisfactory in estimation performance and in tracking performance to command signal.

  • A position control system is developed for an electro-hydraulic servo actuator with coaxial rotary spool, where the actuator is controlled by stepping motor. The position control system is utilized to develop the wireless remotely controlled crane system. And remote engine control system is also developed. Finally, to show the validity of this system, some experimental results and field test results am presented.

  • The robust servo controller is designed by the procedure of LQG/LTR method in the continuous-time domain. This design results is equivalently converted to the discrete-time suboptimal LQG in order to implement by the microcomputer system. The LTP, condition of the discrete-time LQG is analyzed and approved by the experiments against the uncertainty of real plant, the discretized LQG /LTR control shows the good robustness.
