In a wireless network, handover latency is very important in supporting user mobility with the required quality of service (QoS). In view of this many schemes have been developed which aim to reduce the handover latency. The Hierarchical Mobile IPv6 (HMIPv6) approach is one such scheme which reduces the high handover latency that arises when mobile nodes perform frequent handover in Mobile IPv6 wireless networks. Although HMIPv6 reduces handoff latency, failures in the mobility anchor point (MAP) results in severe disruption or total disconnection that can seriously affect user satisfaction in ongoing sessions between the mobile and its correspondent nodes. HMIPv6 can avoid this situation by using more than one mobility anchor point for each link. In [3], an improved Robust Hierarchical Mobile IPv6 (RH-MIPv6) scheme is presented which enhances the HMIPv6 method by providing a fault-tolerant mobile service using two different MAPs (Primary and Secondary). It has been shown that the RH-MIPv6 scheme can achieve approximately 60% faster recovery times compared with the standard HMIPv6 approach. However, if mobile nodes perform frequent handover in RH-MIPv6, these changes incur a high communication overhead which is configured by two local binding update units (LBUs) as to two MAPs. To reduce this communication overhead, a new cost-reduced binding update scheme is proposed here, which reduces the communication overhead compared to previous schemes, by using an increased number of MAP switches. Using this new proposed method, it is shown that there is a 19.6% performance improvement in terms of the total handover latency.
A multicast tree includes several, possibly a large number of, paths connecting source-receiver pairs, and network failure may disable part of the multicast tree. Reconstruction of the entire multicast tree to recover from a component failure is highly undesirable, because some group members have to suffer service disruptions even though the communication paths to/from them are not affected by the failure. To limit reconfiguration region and to maximize the likelihood of successful reconfiguration, we propose and evaluate a pre-planned reconfiguration policy for QoS multicast sessions. Specifically, we equip a reconfiguration path (RP) with each end-to-end path that connects a source-receiver pair in the multicast tree, and reserve resources in advance along the RPs. Efficient resource-sharing techniques are applied to reduce the amount of resources reserved for RPs but not used in the absence of failures. This way, we prevent uncontrolled competition among different multicast sessions which may simultaneously try to recover from failures. We evaluate the performance of the proposed scheme using simulation on randomly-generated networks. We use the shortest-path routing for QoS multicast sessions, and simulate both source-based and shared multicast trees. The evaluation results indicates that successful pre-planned reconfiguration can be achieved for all group members with reasonable overhead. Our scheme is also shown to adapt well to dynamic changes of group membership.

Cloud computing markets are rapidly growing as cost savings and business innovation are being carried out through ICT worldwide. In line with this paradigm, the nation is striving to introduce cloud computing in various areas, including the public sector and defense sector, through various research. In the defense sector, DIDC was established in 2015 by integrating military, naval, air and military computing centers, and it provides cloud services in the form of IaaS to some systems in the center. In DIDC and various future cloud defense systems, It is an important issue to ensure availability in cloud defense systems in the defense sector because system failures such as network delays and system resource failures are directly linked to the results of battlefields. However, ensuring the highest levels of availability for all systems in the defense cloud can be inefficient, and the efficiency that can be gained from deploying a cloud system can be reduced. In this paper, we classify and define the level of availability of defense cloud systems step by step, and propose the strategy of introducing Erasure coding and failure acceptance systems, and disaster recovery system technology according to each level of availability acquisition.
Service failure is one of the major reasons for customer defection. As the business environment gets tougher and more competitive, a single service failure might bring about fatal consequences to a service provider or a firm. Sometimes a failure won't end up with an unsatisfied customer's simple complaining but with a wide-spread animosity against the service provider or the firm, leading to a threat to the firm's survival itself in the society. Therefore, we are in need of comprehensive understandings of complainants' attitudes and behaviors toward service failures and firm's recovery efforts. Even though a failure itself couldn't be fixed completely, marketers should repair the mind and heart of unsatisfied customers, which can be regarded as an successful recovery strategy in the end. As the outcome of recovery efforts exerted by service providers or firms, recovery of the relationship between customer and service provider need to put on the top in the recovery goal list. With these motivations, the study investigates how service failure and recovery makes the changes in dynamics of fundamental elements of customer-firm relationship, such as customer affection, customer trust and loyalty intention by comparing two time points, before the service failure and after the recovery, focusing on the effects of recovery satisfaction and the failure severity. We adopted La & Choi (2012)'s framework for development of the research model that was based on the previous research stream like Yim et al. (2008) and Thomson et al. (2005). The pivotal background theories of the model are mainly from relationship marketing and social relationships of social psychology. For example, Love, Emotional attachment, Intimacy, and Equity theories regarding human relationships were reviewed. As the results, when recovery satisfaction is high, customer affection and customer trust that were established before the service failure are carried over to the future after the recovery. However, when recovery satisfaction is low, customer-firm relationship that had already established in the past are not carried over but broken up. Regardless of the degree of recovery satisfaction, once a failure occurs loyalty intention is not carried over to the future and the impact of customer trust on loyalty intention becomes stronger. Such changes imply that customers become more prudent and more risk-aversive than the time prior to service failure. The impact of severity of failure on customer affection and customer trust matters only when recovery satisfaction is low. When recovery satisfaction is high, customer affection and customer trust become severity-proof. Interestingly, regardless of the degree of recovery satisfaction, failure severity has a significant negative influence on loyalty intention. Loyalty intention is the most fragile target when a service failure occurs no matter how severe the failure criticality is. Consequently, the ultimate goal of service recovery should be the restoration of customer-firm relationship and recovery of customer trust should be the primary objective to accomplish for a successful recovery performance. Especially when failure severity is high, service recovery should be perceived highly satisfied by the complainants because failure severity matters more when recovery satisfaction is low. Marketers can implement recovery strategies to enhance emotional appeals as well as fair treatments since the both impacts of affection and trust on loyalty intention are significant. In the case of high severity of failure, recovery efforts should be exerted to overreach customer expectation, designed to directly repair customer trust and elaborately designed in the focus of customer-firm communications during the interactional recovery process to affect customer trust rebuilding indirectly. Because it is a longer and harder way to rebuild customer-firm relationship for high severity cases, low recovery satisfaction cannot guarantee customer retention. To prevent customer defection due to service failure of high severity, unexpected rewards as a recovery will be likely to be useful since those will lead to customer delight or customer gratitude toward the service firm. Based on the results of analyses, theoretical and managerial implications are presented. Limitations and future research ideas are also discussed.
This study is an overview of the processing of national defense reform in the meantime and to analyze the development of alternative processes are conducted in all the service system operating status of the military regime aims at prese-nting the efficient utilization of natural science and engineering professionals. The purpose of this study was to discuss about the efficient utilization of science and engineering professionals according to the Defense Reform organized as follows. Chapter 2 looked into the concept of conscription system and cause for change, Chapter 3 analyzed utilization of science and engineering professionals and the practices related to engineering and professional workforce. Chapter 4 took to understand the military system improvement based on the derived implications will be presented the role of the relevant ministries. Chapter 5 Conclusion would present a summary of the results discussed above and deploy the argument in the direction. The study conclusions are First, the need to develop alternative military service system in the desired direction to derive a social consensus about the survival of the Selective Service System Status. Second, to establish a provisional Armed Forces to train science and engineering professionals with superior officers and noncom missioned officers and they should be able to contribute to the develop-ment of an individual's development and the national economy. In particular, legal and trial and error and failures of the system was carried out in the past in the process of seeking the required institutional improvements should not make the error to repeat.
The study aims to examine the service preference between the NEIS(National Education Information Systems) and alternatives, based on the benefits, costs and risks of NEIS service for parents, and finally propose the vitalizations plans for that public services. As a part of public services, NEIS has not only provided the educational information for the students, which enables school parents to suffice for information need, and but also leaded in the parents' participation for the various educational policies. However, major NEIS users such as teachers and parents recently began to blame for the various data errors and connection failures of NEIS. Despite of the research importance, most of NEIS studies severely depended on TAM and researches investigating the preference of school parents for NEIS services rarely exist. The study classifies NEIS parents services into benefits, costs, and risks based on ANP BCR model, identifies the preference for the services, compares the NEIS services and alternatives, and provides the results of sensitivity analyses. The analyses identify that NEIS was not frequently used by school parents and that the service preference of the school parents was not considered yet. Consequently, the study stresses the acceptance vitalizations plans for NEIS.
A self-sufficiency service has worked as a typical workfare policy combined with public assistance in Korea since 2000. Despite of its long history, three core pillars in administrating the self-sufficiency service, policy, research, and practice, have respectively understood the meaning of self-sufficiency in terms of their own interests. As a result, the self-sufficiency service has recently faced with its own identity issues by showing failures to its environmental changes. The current situation makes it necessary to reconceptualize the definition of self-sufficiency by exploring its in-depth understanding perceived by service providers. Specifically, we analyzed practical reflections on 35 service providers' experiences which were collected via focus group interviews for two hours. The study findings presented that service providers had two antithetical approaches towards self-sufficiency. While a dominant approach to self-sufficiency has been concentrated on improving clients' economic outcomes such as employment, job retention, the escape from welfare trap, and increasing earnings and assets, the other approach has been extended to empower clients and achieve their well-being and quality of life. Yet, these contrary perspectives have led to suffer from their role confusions and identity crisis between the work-ready process and the employment-oriented outcomes. Specifically, they described self-sufficiency in terms of psychological, social, and integrated aspects. The psychological aspect included a process of developing inner strengths, intensifying job motivation, and coping with barriers of employment. The social aspect meant a path toward social integration through recovering human relationships. The integrated aspect covered more comprehensive support for their recovery of daily life and autonomy to make a decision for their own life. In conclusion, the study findings suggest that self-sufficiency should be more extensively considered as a stepwise process towards work-ready preparations beyond ultimate economic outcomes. Such an extended concept of self-sufficiency could contribute to restructuring the whole practice of self-sufficiency including organizational and program changes in the fields.

In XXI century it is necessary to expect the recommencement and development of activities on mastering the Moon. In the long term it is construction of manned lunar bases with industrial, astrophysical, procuring, repair equipment and services. Interplanetary flights from the Moon demand smaller power expenditures, than from the Earth, therefore it is favourable to use its surface for the construction of space-vehicle launching sites. Flights of devices in libration points in the system 'Earth - Moon' are considered. Experience of engineering system creation for the Moon displays the great complexity in provision of serviceability and reliability of friction units. Open friction units should operate under following conditions on the Moon: pressure of environment (vacuum) $p\;>10\;^{-10}$ Pa; wide range of temperature change $+150^{\circ}C\;...170^{\circ}C$; high evaporability of lubricants; influence of temperature gradients and warping of constructions; sublimation of elements of constructional materials; irradiation of different physical nature; effect of micrometeorites; reduced gravitation; influence of abrasive particles of lunar ground; requirements on minimization of size and weight characteristics of a construction (high tension); undesirability (impossibility) of application of liquid and plastic lubricants; vibration, shock, acoustic loadings during start and landings to the Earth; difficulties in repair-regenerative operations in conditions of the Moon etc. Adhesive interaction of conjugated surfaces is the principal reason of possible failures of rubbed units on the Moon. In the research of the Moon automatic interplanetary stations of 'Luna' (USSR), 'Surveyer', 'Apollo' (USA) series were used. Stations executed functions of flying, landing, artificial satellites of the Moon, moon-rovers and manned spacecrafts such as 'Apollo'. The experimental- theoretical researches carried out in the sixtieth years on tribology for conditions of the Moon appeared to be rather useful to engineering of an outer space exploration and the decision of complex problems for the friction units operating in extreme conditions on the Earth. For the creation of highly loaded friction units for the long service life on the Moon it is required not only to use accumulated experience and designed technologies, but also to carry out wide scientific research.
Objectives: In most retrospective studies, the clinical performance of restorations had not been considered in survival analysis. This study investigated the effect of including the clinically unacceptable cases according to modified United States Public Health Service (USPHS) criteria into the failed data on the survival analysis of direct restorations as to the longevity and prognostic variables. Materials and Methods: Nine hundred and sixty-seven direct restorations were evaluated. The data of 204 retreated restorations were collected from the records, and clinical performance of 763 restorations in function was evaluated according to modified USPHS criteria by two observers. The longevity and prognostic variables of the restorations were compared with a factor of involving clinically unacceptable cases into the failures using Kaplan-Meier survival analysis and Cox proportional hazard model. Results: The median survival times of amalgam, composite resin and glass ionomer were 11.8, 11.0 and 6.8 years, respectively. Glass ionomer showed significantly lower longevity than composite resin and amalgam. When clinically unacceptable restorations were included into the failure, the median survival times of them decreased to 8.9, 9.7 and 6.4 years, respectively. Conclusions: After considering the clinical performance, composite resin was the only material that showed a difference in the longevity (p < 0.05) and the significantly higher relative risk of student group than professor group disappeared in operator groups. Even in the design of retrospective study, clinical evaluation needs to be included.
As the percentage of permeable ground is reduced due to the increased impermeable roads of major cities, a heat island phenomenon can be dominantly observed, resulting in increased temperature. In addition, rainfall that would have been naturally absorbed and retained by the permeable ground is overflowed due to large volumes of run-off water, resulting in more sewer failures and increased erosion. In terms of permeable pavement system, block paving has been used anywhere as well as provides many years of service. The permeable block paving is an effective alternative to the more traditional asphalt or plain concrete for minor roads; furthermore, it looks a lot better than other pavements. In this study, the functional drainage evaluation of block paving was carried out, considering the usage of experimental sludge and wheel tracking test, in order to simulate the field condition of roads.
