Korea Ginseng Corporation is a global ginseng company, owning one of the most leading brands in Korea, CheongKwanJang. Although Korea Ginseng Corporation was an undoubted market leader in the red ginseng market, it faced a new challenge in 2012 due to the changes in market environment. In order to keep its market leadership in a saturated and competitive market, the company decided to extend its product lines alongside the launches of new brands. In this article, the authors demonstrate the development process of the company's brand portfolio strategy to reveal how the company turned CheongKwanJang into a mega-brand. Also, this paper explores the impact of CheongKwanJang's reputation on new brands, thereby illustrating how the company successfully managed to introduce new products outside of the red ginseng category, ranging from organic food to a pet food market.

The study aims to explore the nature, drivers of BAE. In particular, how and why consumers engage with branded mobile apps. Since consumer engagement is a multi-dimensional and complex phenomenon, the authors took an interpretivist paradigm and used a grounded theory approach by interviewing 24 participants. The findings reveal that branded app engagement (BAE) is triggered by mainly three aspects, i.e., media characteristics (Privacy and security, customization, and convenience), brand-related aspects (brand image and product/service quality), and benefits sought (inherent and derived). More importantly, we uncover the underlying mechanism for each factor. Furthermore, the study explains the BAE process in its entirety from an app-centric perspective rather the brand powering the app. Thus, the study offers a fresh perspective and novel insights into the BAE process.
Purpose: The purpose of this study is to analyze the efficiency and productivity of the quality by integrating the product quality and service quality of global automobile brands from the customer's perspective. Methods: In this study, the data from JD Power and GoodCarBadCar.net were used to analyze the efficiency and productivity of a total of 24 automobile brands (10 luxury brands and 14 mainstream brands) between 2009 and 2013. For this, DEA (Data Envelopment Analysis) and MPI (Malmquist Productivity Index) were used. Results: The mean efficiency of the quality of global automobile brands were 0.725 for luxury brands and 0.587 for mainstream brands, which suggests generally higher efficiency for luxury brands. The productivity of the quality of global automobile brands increased by 16.1% for luxury brands while it decreased by 3.1% for mainstream brands. Conclusion: The study provides a theoretical implication in that it emphasized the efficiency of the quality viewed from the customer's perspective, and investigated the quality of the product and that of service in an integrative manner. In addition, this study provides also a practical implication in that it suggests how to set the sales goal by the brand and how to manage according to the characteristics of the brand to the managers of automobile manufacturers.
As the market for coffee chains becomes fierce, it is important for coffee chains to establish an enduring relationship with customers and encourage them to revisit their stores. Thus, it becomes important to understand consumers' repurchase decision-making mechanisms in the context of coffee chains. Customer satisfaction, perceived switching costs, and regret were considered as the main factors of customers' repurchase intentions. Especially, the effect of regret experience of coffee chains on consumers' repurchase decision was examined. In addition, coffee quality, physical environment quality, service encounters performance, and brand trust were considered as attributes of coffee shop selection, and their effects on customer satisfaction and perceived switching cost were investigated. The results of the study showed that customer satisfaction and perceived switching costs had a positive effect on repurchase intention, while regret had a negative effect on repurchase intention. Coffee quality and physical environmental quality had no significant effect on customer satisfaction and perceived conversion cost. Service encounter performance had a significant impact on perceived switching costs alone. Brand trust had a significant impact on both customer satisfaction and perceived switching cost.
In recent years retail competition has intensified, generally as a consequence of technologies, more sophisticated management practices and industry consolidation. An understanding of current customers' loyalty intentions and their determinants is an important basis for the identification of optimal retailer actions. The focus of this study is to examine the links between patronage intention and the effects of various antecedents of current customers' store loyalty intentions in fashion store. 340 female universities students living in Seoul were analyzed by utilizing multiple regressions to investigate the predictability of each of the 4 different sets of variables(consumer value, source of information, clothing benefits, importance of store attributes) on four patronage intentions of apparel shopping(discount store, speciality store, conventional market, Fashion shopping mall). Four factors were significant in predicting conventional market patronage intention. Brand had a negative coefficient, while price, social affiliation, store fashion service/promotion had positive coefficients. Fashion shopping mall were predicted by five factors:brand had a negative coefficient, while media, social affiliation, price, uniqueness had positive coefficients. For specialty store, four factors were significant: brand had a negative coefficient, while store fashion service/promotion, personal sources, uniqueness had positive coefficients. Four factors were significant in predicting discount store patronage intention :price, store fashion service/promotion, social affiliation, variety of price & product had positive coefficients. Despite the relatively low $r^2s$, all four variables appeared to have, to some degree, predictability of choosing among four different types of store for apparel shopping. Based on the results, patronage intention profiles for four retail stores were developed. Marketing implications are discussed.

The results are as follows. First, customized cosmetics services could be classified online and offline. Second, customized cosmetics brands could be divided into general brand types and brand extension types. Third, skin data measurements could be classified into genetic analysis, big data-based surveys, and device measurements. Fourth, customized cosmetics manufacturing could be classified into a device manufacturing system, a consultant manufacturing system, and an individual production process system. Fifth, customized cosmetics distribution and delivery could be classified into same-day sales, general delivery, and regular delivery. The results of this study are meaningful in that they have identified and analyzed the current status of personalized cosmetics on-line and offline systems in recent trends, and it was confirmed that creative attempts in the domestic customized cosmetics market continue to change. It is hoped that this study will provide information and ideas to the beauty industry and related experts in the future and be used as basic data for customized cosmetics marketing

The main objective of this study were to develop the scale for measuring service quality and to identify the differences of service quality among apparel store types(department store, fashion specialty store and national brand independent store). Data were collected from 463 subjects who finished their shopping with a self-administered questionnaire. The results were as follows; 1. As a result of factor analysis, seven dimensions were identified for service quality: VMD, store atmosphere, pleasant enviornment, product assortment, store policy, salesperson's assurance, and salesperson's responsiveness dimensions. The first five dimensions and the last two dimensions were corresponded to store service and sales service respectively. Those dimensions explained 56.56% of service quality. Especially the salesperson's assurance had the most explaining power. 2. The fashion specially store was evaluated as the highest in five dimensions of store service, whereas the department store was evaluated as the lowest in the pleasant environment dimension. 3. Store policy, salesperson's assurance, store atmosphere, and VMD dimensions explained 38% of store satisfaction.
Purpose: This study introduces a systematic framework to evaluate service satisfaction of cosmetic brands through online review analysis utilizing Text-Mining technique. Methods: The framework assumes that the service satisfaction is evaluated by positive comments from online reviews. That is, the service satisfaction of a cosmetic brand is evaluated higher as more positive opinions are commented in the online reviews. This study focuses on two approaches. First, it collects online review comments from the top 50 global cosmetic brands and evaluates customer service satisfaction for each cosmetic brands by applying Sentimental Analysis and Latent Dirichlet Allocation. Second, it analyzes the determinants that induce or influence service satisfaction and suggests the guidelines for cosmetic brands with low satisfaction to improve their service satisfaction. Results: For the satisfaction evaluation, online review data were extracted from the top 50 global cosmetic brands in the world based on 2018 sales announced by Brand Finance in the UK. As a result of the satisfaction analysis, it was found that overall there were more positive opinions than negative opinions and the averages for polarity, subjectivity, positive ratio, and negative ratio were calculated as 0.50, 0.76, 0.57, and 0.19, respectively. Polarity, subjectivity and positive ratio showed the opposite pattern to negative ratio, and although there was a slight difference in fluctuation range and ranking between them, the patterns are almost same. Conclusion: The usefulness of the proposed framework was verified through case study. Although some studies have suggested a method to analyze online reviews, they didn't deal with the satisfaction evaluation among competitors and cause analysis. This study is different from previous studies in that it evaluates service satisfaction from a relative point of view among cosmetic brands and analyze determinants.
