  • In recent, much attention has been paid to the educational serious games that provide both fun and learning effects. However, most educational games have been targeted at the infants and children, and it is still hard to use such games in higher education. On the contrary, this paper aims to develop an educational game for teaching mathematical programming to the undergraduates. It is well known that most puzzle games can be transformed into associated optimization problem and vice versa, and this paper proposes a simple educational game based on the subset sum problem. This game enables the users to play the puzzle and construct their own mathematical programming model for solving it. Moreover, the users are provided with appropriate instructions for modeling and their models are evaluated by using the data automatically generated. It is expected that the educational game in this paper will be helpful for teaching basic programming models to the students in industrial engineering or management science.

  • Recently attention deficit of children has caused various social problems. Those children who has symptoms like ADHD (Attention Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder) has to be provided with methods which can enhance their attention level in a child-friendly way such as 3D games. This paper shows a research on how to measure the level of attention for attention deficit children using their favorite 3D games. Firstly, we speculated on the methods about attention measurement used in the medical area. And then we searched measurement variables which can effectively evaluate the level of attention during a game play time. Secondly, we have conducted experiment whether there exists difference about the value of the measurement variables between the two groups, normal children group and attention deficit children group. Those variables are omission error, commission error, average response time, and standard deviation of response time. Though our experiment has only been limited to visual attention level, four measurement variables revealed mutual differences.

The games don't give users continuous excitement, so the popularity of the games goes down soon. In this paper, we investigate domestic and international healing games on the basis of the platform, such as mobile, console and PC. We analyze the feature of healing games with the four keys to fun(Hard Fun, Easy Fun, Serious Fun, People Fun) suggested by Nicole Lazzro. By this analysis, we find how much of the 4 keys to fun the games include and the correlation between the 4 keys to fun and the popularity of the healing games.

In screen climbing, the software program is executed in a computer system and climbing is progressed by the interaction between a climber and the content of the screen. We implemented a screen climbing game with the ancient cave exploration considering the development of children and the children's motivation to sports climbing. The content of the game is projected to the artificial climb wall and the interaction between a user and the game is done by a user's input of Kinect's depth data. The game is popular with the children in the children's exhibition event. There should be implemented more screen climbing game.

There is seldom a poisoning game treatise to a primary school student, if there is treatise, it is real condition that treatise for lead pipe with psychological reasons is seldom discussion about physical symptoms. This research searches high grade elementary students' game use actual conditions and when divide to general user group, latent danger use group, high dangerous use group, according to serious illness degree of game poisoning, three groups and game poisoning happens, recognized about body symptoms that happen much. Methods : Target population of these questionnaire are fifth and sixth grade elementary student of Seoul city 2 school. Chose 263 elementary students, 144 men, 119 women who understand purpose of research and admit participation is 25 October, 2006 since 1 September, 2006 Results : As poisoning serious illness degree is high, there are many number of game times, much more boys are addicted to internet game than girs, insomnia is apt to happen frequently in game poisoning danger group, and correlation is high by megrim, shoulder ache, digestive trouble. Insomnia, symptoms that show next even if some symptoms show first because there is high correlation between megrim, shoulder ache, digestive trouble is high possibility to happen among four symptoms. Insomnia, megrim, shoulder ache, digestive trouble that happen by internet game poisoning, is apt to increase by increasing addiction. Symptoms treatment can divide by internal treatment that treat insomnia, megrim, digestive trouble, external treatment that is typical symptoms of VDT syndrome shoulder ache, headache, fatigue persimmon. Root treatment is mind symptoms treatment. Game addiction treatment is relationship method 'seven emotions injury treatment' in oriental medicine. • In this study, game-aided human life type game design method is suggested. It mainly deals with the permissiveness of the game rules and coenesthesia of the game that are fitted with the agility of the elders such as the performance of a selective response. And 'Rolling hoops Balance Game' has been implemented by applying the game-aided human life type game. Since the pressure sensors are installed on each parts of the chair type game controller, to play the game, a gamer simply uses her hands and feet to press the sensors without requirements of the complex movements. The goal of the game are the leg muscles strength and improvement of the body balancing ability. In addition, the game graphics consists of sensory stimuli package(Namazi, Haynes, reminiscence therapy, 1994) to make friendly mood for elders. We have tested 50 elders who were more than 65 years old. 74% of them answered they were satisfied totally for the game play. It is a meaningful result that 88% of participants replied they would like to play the game again.
