  • This paper presents an interleaved resonant converter with a parallel-series transformer connection in order to achieve ripple current reduction at the output capacitor, zero voltage turn-on for the active switches, zero current turn-off for the rectifier diodes, less voltage stress on the rectifier diodes, and less current stress on the transformer primary windings. The primary windings of the two transformers are connected in parallel in order to share the input current and to reduce the root-mean-square (rms) current on the primary windings. The secondary windings of the two transformers are connected in series in order to ensure that the transformer primary currents are balanced. A full-wave diode rectifier is used at the output side to clamp the voltage stress of the rectifier diode at the output voltage. Two circuit modules are operated with the interleaved PWM scheme so that the input and output ripple currents are reduced. Based on the resonant behavior, all of the active switches are turned on under zero voltage switching (ZVS), and the rectifier diodes are turned off under zero current switching (ZCS) if the operating switching frequency is less than the series resonant frequency. Finally, experiments with a 1kW prototype are described to verify the effectiveness of the proposed converter.

  • In this study, a single-phase quasi Z-source AC-AC converters with a series connection of the output terminals is proposed. The proposed system has configuration that the input terminals of two quasi Z-source AC-AC converters are connected in parallel and its output terminals are connected in series. The out of phase mode and in phase mode of the proposed system are presented. To verify the validity of the proposed converter, a DSP controlled hardware was made and PSIM simulation was executed. As a result, controlling the duty ratio of the converter, the desired buck-boost output voltages could be generated. For each modes, as compared with the single converter operation, the proposed converter could enhance the efficiency and input power factor according to different loads. Also, in case of the out of phase mode under the constant load, the efficiency and input power factor of the proposed system are increased 10[%], 35[%] respectively in compared with the single converter. And, the output voltage is constantly controlled in dynamic state in case while the load is suddenly changed.

  • Lower dimensional cases of Einstein's connection were already investigated by many authors for n = 2,3,4,5,6,7. This paper is the first part of the following series of two papers, in which we obtain a surveyable tensorial representation of 8-dimensional Einstein's connection in terms of the unified field tensor, with main emphasis on the derivation of powerful and useful recurrence relations which hold in 8-dimensional Einstein's unified field theory(i.e., 8-g-UFT): I. The recurrence relations in 8-g-UFT II. The Einstein's connection in 8-g-UFT All considerations in these papers are restricted to the first class only of the generalized 8-dimensional Riemannian manifold $X_8$.

  • The aim of this article is to make a connection between the Pascal distribution series and some subclasses of normalized analytic functions whose coefficients are probabilities of the Pascal distribution. To be more precise, we investigate such connections with the classes of analytic univalent functions with positive coefficients in the open unit disk 𝕌.

  • There exists an acute need for high voltage solid-state-switches in a broad area of applications. With the proposed method using simple voltage balancing circuit with series connected IGBTs, it is realized high voltage semiconductor switches with working voltages of several order kilo-volts. The operation principle of the proposed circuit is explained and analyzed. Transient and static voltage-balancing is tested on a experimenta 3kV/45A switch with four series-connected IGBTs.

  • In the present paper, we consider the condition that is a geodesic equation on a Finsler space with an (${\alpha},\;{\beta}$)-metric. Next we find the conditions that are equations of geodesic on the Finsler space with an approximate infinite series (${\alpha},\;{\beta}$)-metric.

  • The purpose of this study is to investigate the seismic performance of exposed column-base plate strong-axis connections for small-sized steel buildings. Even though the seismic design for small-sized buildings became mandatory since Dec.2017, the arbitrary connection details in steel structure have been applied at the construction site, which is considered to be very insufficient to secure structural safety and stability considering the increased seismic risk. Therefore, a series of experimental test programs had been carried out to develop enhanced connection details in order to ensue the adequate seismic safety of small buildings. The hysteretic behavior of the exposed column-base plate connections commonly used in Korea seem to be very pure poor due to the "Rocking" phenomena between anchor plate and concrete by the residual plastic deformation of anchor bolts. A series of hysteretic tests were conducted to find the solution to overcome the "Rocking" phenomena of the exposed column-base plate connections, finally the stable seismic behavior was obtained by uisng at least 8 anchor bolts with good bonding strength to the protptype specimen.
