  • Until now, five species (Meghimatium bilineatum, M. fruhstorferi, Limax flavus, L. marginatus, Deroceras reticulatum) in three genera of families Philomycidae and Limacidae have been reported in Korea. Philomycidae is a family of air-breathing land snails. Meghimatium hongdoensis sp. nov. is described based on its middle size (60-80 mm in body length), its body coloration (dark-red yellow), no dorsal with streaks, its genitalia, and 16rDNA sequence analysis. Specimens of this new species were collected from Hongdo island, Sinan-gun, Jeollanam-do, Korea. This species is only known from the type locality at Hongdo to date. It could be found in high-humidity sites. Meghimatium uniforme (Laidlaw 1937) was the first one reported in Korea. It was also collected from Gageodo island, Sinan-gun, Jeollanam-do, Korea. In this study, morphological characteristics including their radula and genital structures of these two species were described. Preliminary results of mitochondrial 16S rDNA sequencing and phylogenetic analyses indicated that these species belonged to the Korean clade.

  • Through a taxonomic study on solitary corals collected from subtidal zones of South and East Seas from 2019 to 2022, Paracyathus rotundatus, an unrecorded species belonging to family Caryophylliidae, is newly added to the anthozoan fauna of Korea. In addition, comparing partial 16S rRNA sequences with a length of 269 bp according to color variation clarified that there were no sequence differences among specimens with color variation, indicating that the color variation is due to intraspecific variation. As a result of this study, a total of 7 genera and 8 species belonging to the Caryophylliidae family have been reported in Korean waters so far.

  • Since the words and words in Chinese sentences are continuous and the length of vocabulary is huge, Chinese NER(Named Entity Recognition) always based on character representation. In recent years, many Chinese research has been reconsidered how to integrate the word information into the Chinese NER model. However, the traditional sequence model has complex structure, the slow inference speed, and an additional dictionary information is needed, which is difficult to implement in the industry. The approach in this paper has the state of the art and parallelizable, which is integrated the char-word embeddings, so that the model learns word information. The proposed model is easy to implement, and outperforms traditional model in terms of speed and efficiency, which is improved f1-score on two dataset.

제안된 LSTM 모델은 강우량(R), 댐유입량(Q) 기온(T), 기저유량(BF) 등을 포함한 다양한 입력 변수들의 함수로 가정하였으며, CCF(Cross Correlations), ACF(Autocorrelations) 및 PACF(Partial Autocorrelations) 등의 기법을 사용하여 입력 변수를 결정하였다.

  • In this study, we formulated a method that evaluates Taekwondo Poomsae performance using a series of choreographed training movements. Despite recent achievements in 3D human pose estimation (HPE) performance, the analysis of human actions remains challenging. In particular, Taekwondo Poomsae action analysis is challenging owing to the absence of time synchronization data and necessity to compare postures, rather than directly relying on joint locations owing to differences in human shapes. To address these challenges, we first decomposed human joint representation into joint rotation (posture) and limb length (body shape), then synchronized a comparison between test and reference pose sequences using DTW (dynamic time warping), and finally compared pose angles for each joint. Experimental results demonstrate that our method successfully synchronizes test action sequences with the reference sequence and reflects a considerable gap in performance between practitioners and professionals. Thus, our method can detect incorrect poses and help practitioners improve accuracy, balance, and speed of movement.

  • Polygordiidae is recorded as a new record in the Korean fauna. Twenty-three specimens of Polygordius pacificus were collected from the low intertidal zone with coarse sandy bottom on the eastern coasts of Korea. Morphologically, there was no doubt that the specimens are close to the holotype of P. pacificus, particularly due to the presence of elongated and longitudinal pygidial glands, and the length to width ratio. The prostomium of the Korean specimens have a rounded shape that is similar to subsequent research using scanning electron microscope. The DNA sequence comparison of the mitochondrial cytochrome c oxidase subunit I (COI) between Korean and Japanese population supports the identification of present specimens.

  • We report the complete mitochondrial genome sequence of endangered yellow-throated marten, Martes flavigula. The complete mitochondrial genome of M. flavigula is 16,555 bp in length. We identified 13 protein coding genes, 22 transfer RNA, two ribosomal RNA, and one control region. The mitogenome is A+T rich, with a composition of 31.3% A, 28.7% C, 13.0% G, and 27.0% T. According to phylogenetic analysis based on mitochondrial complete genomes, Martes flavigula in the subgenus Charronia was clearly distinct from the subgenus Martes. This phylogeny of the genus Martes supports the conventional systematic treatment. The genetic and taxonomic analysis in this study provides necessary information for the future studies of yellow-throated marten and the Mustelidae family.

  • The goal of this study is to investigate corpus callosum and both internal capsule changes with the internet addiction disorder compared to control group using MR diffusion tensor imaging. A total of 22 teenager volunteers who had 10 high-risk group with internet addiction and 12 normal control group were conducted for this study. Imaging was conducted on a 3 T using a EPI sequence. Image evaluation was analysed of the FA, ADC($10^{-3}mm^2/s$), length(mm). We did select ROI for image tracking on corpus callosum of 5 and including 2(internal capsule). The data from these ROIs were compared statistically among the groups using independent t-test, correlation coefficient. There were significant inter-group differences(p<0.05) among FA, ADC($10^{-3}mm^2/s$) and length(mm). And also significantly negative correlations were fond between FA values of corpus callosum and IAD scale(p=0.000). DTI was shown significant changes of FA and ADC, LNF values in IAD compared to control group. Therefore, our results may provided clinical information for brain wite matter functions.
