  • In this study, in order to determine the validity and accuracy of MR imaging of 3D gradient dual echo 2-point DIXON technique for measuring abdominal adipose tissue volume and distribution, the measurements obtained by CT were set as a reference for comparison and their correlations were evaluated. CT and MRI scans were performed on each subject (17 healthy male volunteers who were fully informed about this study) to measure abdominal adipose tissue volume. Two skilled investigators individually observed the images acquired by CT and MRI in an independent environment, and directly separated the total volume using region-based thresholding segmentation method, and based on this, the total adipose tissue volume, subcutaneous adipose tissue volume and visceral adipose tissue volume were respectively measured. The correlation of the adipose tissue volume measurements with respect to the observer was examined using the Spearman test and the inter-observer agreement was evaluated using the intra-class correlation test. The correlation of the adipose tissue volume measurements by CT and MRI imaging methods was examined by simple regression analysis. In addition, using the Bland-Altman plot, the degree of agreement between the two imaging methods was evaluated. All of the statistical analysis results showed highly statistically significant correlation (p<0.05) respectively from the results of each adipose tissue volume measurements. In conclusion, MR abdominal adipose volumetry using the technique of 3D gradient dual echo 2-point DIXON showed a very high level of concordance even when compared with the adipose tissue measuring method using CT as reference.

  • Appraisal is a basic archival function that analyzes values of records and determines the eventual disposal of records based upon their archival values. In Korea, this appraisal concept introduces in earnest through Public Records and Archives Act(PRA, 공공기관의 기록물관리에관한법률) with which Korean record management systems settle inflexibly. In theoreical and methodological area, therefore, it is necessary to analyze appraisal system in this Act with it in archival science. In PRA Act, appraisal system is founded on the Tables of Transaction for Records Scheduling(TRS, 기록물분류기준표) through which disposal activities of all records are definited in a concrete form. In this system, selection of archival materials which has been recognized as a important function of record center is carried out by record creators and archival institutions; Primary value between semi-currenty and non-currenty are reflected at the same time. In view of values, this appraisal system intends to separate reasonably consideration for continuing utility of achives from current use of records throughout agencies duration. Ultimately, appraisal based upon TRS makes up not separated management course but organic courses reflecting the Continuum of Care. Of course, this appraisal system makes up the deficiency partially. TRS regarded as 'mainboard' of current appraisal system will have to be enacted elaborately. And appraisal strategies of electronic records must set up in detail in PRA Act and TRS. Lastly, arrangement and description concepts immanent in TRS will have to supplement in archival institutions.

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study was to design a framework for generating one-class classification algorithm based on Hyper-Rectangle(H-RTGL) in a distributed environment connected by network. Methods: At first, we devised one-class classifier based on H-RTGL which can be performed by distributed computing nodes considering model and data parallelism. Then, we also designed facilitating components for execution of distributed processing. In the end, we validate both effectiveness and efficiency of the classifier obtained from the proposed framework by a numerical experiment using data set obtained from UCI machine learning repository. Results: We designed distributed processing framework capable of one-class classification based on H-RTGL in distributed environment consisting of physically separated computing nodes. It includes components for implementation of model and data parallelism, which enables distributed generation of classifier. From a numerical experiment, we could observe that there was no significant change of classification performance assessed by statistical test and elapsed time was reduced due to application of distributed processing in dataset with considerable size. Conclusion: Based on such result, we can conclude that application of distributed processing for generating classifier can preserve classification performance and it can improve the efficiency of classification algorithms. In addition, we suggested an idea for future research directions of this paper as well as limitation of our work.

  • Background: A number of accidents have occurred in small and medium enterprises (SMEs). Efforts in reducing accidents have been undertaken through the implementation of safety behaviors. Unfortunately, few studies have examined motives behind unsafe behaviors, such as safety silence motives. This study aimed to observe the motives underlying safety behaviors, namely safety silence motive (SSM) (SSM-relation, SSM-climate, SSM-issue, and SSM-job) and to evaluate the effect of SSM and safety communication on safety participation in different industrial sectors and scales. Materials and Methods: Eighty workers from two industrial sectors and scales of SMEs were involved. They were instructed to fill out a set of questionnaires. A five-Likert scale was used to respond. An independent t test was applied to find any significant differences. The partial least square-structural equation modeling for multigroup was used to develop a model on relations among the variables. Results: The results showed that SSM scores were high in SMEs, and the scores were different across industrial sectors and scales. SSM had a negative influence on safety communication, and safety communication positively influenced safety participation. Conclusion: The study of SSM, safety communication, and safety participation in different sectors and scales should be separated in SMEs.

  • In this paper, we estimated the straight line stability by performing a 3 degree of freedom spiral test simulation of a intact/damaged surface combatant using the hydrodynamic coefficient obtained through the PMM(Planar motion mechanism) test based on system engineering process. A model ship was ONR Tumblehome and damaged compartment was set on the starboard bow. As a result of conducting a spiral test simulation based on the experimental results of J.Ha (2018), the asymmetric straight line stability due to the damaged compartment was confirmed. In the case of a ship in which the starboard bow was damaged, it was confirmed that it had the characteristic to deflect to the left when going straight. Also, when estimating the straight line stability of a both port and starboard asymmetric surface combatant, a separated equation of motion model that sees the port and starboard as different ships seems suitable.

  • The data set collected during the night of the discovery of a minor body constitutes a too-short arc (TSA), resulting in failure of the differential correction procedure. This makes it necessary to recover the object during subsequent nights to gather more observations that will allow a preliminary orbit to be calculated. In this work, we present a recovery technique based on sampling the admissible region (AdRe) by the constrained Delaunay triangulation. We construct the AdRe in its topocentric and geocentric variants, using logarithmic and exponential metrics, for the following near-Earth-asteroids: (3122) Florence, (3200) Phaethon, 2003 GW, (1864) Daedalus, 2003 BH84 and 1977 QQ5; and the main-belt asteroids: (1738) Oosterhoff, (4690) Strasbourg, (555) Norma, 2006 SO375, 2003 GE55 and (32811) Apisaon. Using our sampling technique, we established the ephemeris region for these objects, using intervals of observation from 25 minutes up to 2 hours, with propagation times from 1 up to 47 days. All these objects were recoverable in a field of vision of 95' × 72', except for (3122) Florence and (3200) Phaethon, since they were observed during their closest approach to the Earth. In the case of 2006 SO375, we performed an additional test with only two observations separated by 2 minutes, achieving a recovery of up to 28 days after its discovery, which demonstrates the potential of our technique.

  • We have studied the applicability of the principles and inherent advantages of the two-stage dontinuous uclture technique to an enzyme process for the purpose of improving and optimizing the productivity of 3-ketosteroid-delta-1-dehydrogenase. By using a two-stage continuous culture system, the growth st ageand enzyme produdtion stage are separated. In each stage an optimal set of toperaing conditions was determined, and this was tested for feasibility for the period of 10 days. During this period, at least 70% of the maximum enzyme productivity could be maintained. The important design parameters studied are: (1) optimal specific growth rate in the first stage which corresponds to the maximal cell productivity, (2) the optimal dilution rate in the second stage which in turn determines the size of second stage fermentor and the mean residence time of cells in the second stage, (3) cell concentration in both stages, add (4) the specific enzyme productivity and enzyme productivity of the second stage. In addition, by using two-stage continuous culture system we have been able to reduce or eliminate the effect of catabolite repression due to high medium concentration and the adverse effect of the solvent used to dissolve the inducer. We have found the balance between the opposing effects of induction and repression in the second stage judging from the observation that the enzyme productivity goes through a maximum.

  • This study aimed to understand the current status of practice for sustainability in luxury fashion brands. A total of five luxury brands (Louis Vuitton, Hermès, Gucci, Burberry, and Prada) were selected. Each company's official website, sustainability reports, and articles on sustainability practices were compiled. In addition, analysis was performed based on criteria of sustainability such as environmental, social, economical, and cultural dimensions. As a result, the biggest commonality of the five brands was that they promoted the most active change in the environment. These brands tried to reduce energy consumption in materials and production processes. Among them, Burberry, Gucci, and Louis Vuitton had their own departments for sustainability. However, there were differences in strategies of activities between brands for social, economical, and cultural sustainability. Among the five companies, Burberry and Gucci pursued sustainability strategies the most aggressively. They separated their sustainability strategies in terms of environmental, social, economical, and cultural aspects and shared them with consumers. A set of outcomes for the plan were provided as objective data. The sustainable management strategy has become a key strategy for long-term growth of the luxury brand market. To survive in the market, luxury brands should elaborate sustainable management strategies and actively share them with consumers.

  • In this paper, we mainly study the random sampling and reconstruction of signals living in the subspace Vp(𝚽, 𝚲) of Lp(ℝd), which is generated by a family of molecules 𝚽 located on a relatively separated subset 𝚲 ⊂ ℝd. The space Vp(𝚽, 𝚲) is used to model signals with finite rate of innovation, such as stream of pulses in GPS applications, cellular radio and ultra wide-band communication. The sampling set is independently and randomly drawn from a general probability distribution over ℝd. Under some proper conditions for the generators 𝚽 = {𝜙λ : λ ∈ 𝚲} and the probability density function 𝜌, we first approximate Vp(𝚽, 𝚲) by a finite dimensional subspace VpN (𝚽, 𝚲) on any bounded domains. Then, we prove that the random sampling stability holds with high probability for all signals in Vp(𝚽, 𝚲) whose energy concentrate on a cube when the sampling size is large enough. Finally, a reconstruction algorithm based on random samples is given for signals in VpN (𝚽, 𝚲).

  • In order to effectively simulate nonstationary stochastic turbulent wind fields, four separation hybrid (SEP-H) models are proposed in the present study. Based on the assumption that the lateral turbulence component at one single-point is uncorrelated with the longitudinal and vertical turbulence components, the fluctuating wind is separated into 2nV-1D and nV1D nonstationary stochastic vector processes. The first process can be expressed as double proper orthogonal decomposition (DPOD) or proper orthogonal decomposition and spectral representation method (POD-SRM), and the second process can be expressed as POD or SRM. On this basis, four SEP-H models of nonstationary stochastic turbulent wind fields are developed. In addition, the orthogonal random variables in the SEP-H models are presented as random orthogonal functions of elementary random variables. Meanwhile, the number theoretical method (NTM) is conveniently adopted to select representative points set of the elementary random variables. The POD-FFT (Fast Fourier transform) technique is introduced in frequency to give full play to the computational efficiency of the SEP-H models. Finally, taking a long-span bridge as the engineering background, the SEP-H models are compared with the dimension-reduction DPOD (DR-DPOD) model to verify the effectiveness and superiority of the proposed models.
