가솔린 엔진에서 압축비 변경 방법이 성능에 미치는 영향 (Effects of the Method of Changing Compression Ratio on Engine Performance in an SI Engine)

  • In this study, it is observed that the distribution of combustion chamber volume affects the volumetric efficiency. The distribution ratio was adjusted by controlling combustion chamber volume of head and piston bowl one. Four cases were investigated, which are the combination of different distribution ratios and different compression ratios (9.8-10.0). A commercial SOHC 3-valve engine was modified by cutting the bottom face of the head and/or replacing the piston by the one that has different volume. The result shows that the less the head side volume, the more volumetric efficiency is achieved under the same compression ratio. It is also observed that increasing volumetric efficiency results in early knock occurrence due to increased "real" compression ratio. To consider reliability in estimating the volumetric efficiency, we examined the sensitivity of the AFR equation to possible errors in emission measurements. It is shown that the volumetric efficiency, which is calculated by measuring AFR and fuel consumption, can be controlled in 1% error. 1% error.

Optimum multi-objective modified step-stress accelerated life test plan for the Burr type-XII distribution

  • This paper deals with formulation of optimum multi-objective modified step-stress accelerated life test (ALT) plan for Burr type-XII distribution under type-I censoring. Since it is impractical to estimate only one objective parameter after conducting costly ALT tests; also, it is not desirable to assume instantaneous changes in stress levels because of limited capacity of test equipments and the presence of undesirable failure modes, therefore, an optimum multi-objective modified step-stress ALT plan has been designed. The optimal test plan consists in determining the optimum low stress level and optimal time at which stress starts linearly increasing from low stress by minimizing the weighted sum of the asymptotic variances of the maximum likelihood estimator of quantile lifetimes at design constant stress. The method developed has been illustrated using an example. Sensitivity analysis has been carried out. Comparative study has also been done to highlight the merits of the proposed model.

  • As companies become more dependent upon information systems(IS), the potential losses of IS resources become critical. IS management must assume the increasing responsibility for protection of IS resources as the IS and business environments become more vulnerable to various threats. The major issues facing management, when attempting to manage risks, include the assessment of the impact of risks on business objectives and the design of security safeguards to reduce the unacceptable risks to an acceptable level. This paper provides a case study of the risk management for IS. A Korean credit card company which has the high sensitivity for customers security was selected as a case. The risk management procedure using a powerful tool, CRAMM(the Central Computer and Telecommunications Agencys Risk Analysis and Management Method) was applied for this company.

  • The effect of plasma polymerization conditions on the structure of the plasma polymerized styrene were investigated by using Fourier Transform Infrared Ray(FT-IR), Differential Scanning Calorimetry (DSC), Gel Permeation Chromatography(GPC). Plasma polymerized thin film was prepared using an interelectrode inductively coupled gas-flow-type reactor. We show that polymerization parameters of thin film affect sensitivity and etching resistance of plasma polymerized styrene is 1.41~3.93, and deposition rate of that are 32~383[.angs./min] with discharge power. Swelling and etching resistance becomes more improved with increasing discharge power during plasma polymerization. (author). 11 refs., 10 figs., 1 tab.

  • Increasing consumers' individuality and their desire of revelation, owing to accumulation of economic wealth, are making furniture designs more differentiated and various in its method and theme. Trends of contemporary furniture designs are changing from pursuing the functional efficiency of mere usage of their product in the past to satisfying the desire of consumers with full consideration of their emotional aspects, that is, the design that helps consumers communicate with products. In these trends, it is necessary to analyze the emotional factor of consumers for the examination of their emotional desire and apply its analysis to the furniture design.

  • $(Ba_{0.5}\;Ca_{0.5})TiO_{3}$ 감습소자를 고상반응법으로 제조하고, 그 전기적 특성을 조사하였다. 상대습도에 대한 임피던스 변화가 선형적인 우수한 감도를 나타냈으며, 충 방전 전류 특성으로부터 흡습시 주요 캐리어는 이온성 캐리어임을 나타내며, 고온 및 고습영역으로 갈수록 전기전도도가 증가함을 알 수 있다. 고습영역으로 갈수록 유전율이 증가하며, 활성화에너지는 상대습도가 증가할수록 감소함을 알 수 있다.

  • The possibility of using the alkaline protocol of the single cell gel electrophoresis (SCGE) assay as a method for detecting induced DNA damage has been studied for six major plants. The EMS was applied as a model genotoxic agent on young excised leaves of the tested crops for 18 h at 26$^{\circ}C$ in the dark. With increasing concentrations of 0 to 10 mM EMS, the DNA damage, expressed by the averaged median tail moment values, significantly increased in nuclei of all plants studied. As the results, no correlation between the diameter of nuclei and sensitivity to EMS treatment was observed. The data obtained demonstrate the feasibility of using the SCGE assay for detecting induced DNA damage in plants.

  • The chalcogenide glasses of thin films have superior property of the photoinduced anisotrophy(PA). In this study, we observed the phenomenon of Ag polarized photodoping using the irradiation with polarized He-Ne laser light, in the thin film of chalcogenide As/sub 40//Ge/sub 10//Se/sub 15//S/sub 35/ and the double-layer of Ag doped As/sub 40//Ge/sub 10//Se/sub 15//S/sub 35/. The Ag polarized photodoping result in reducing time of saturation anisotrophy and increasing sensitivity of linearly anisotrophy intensity, up to maximum 220%. In the thin films of chalcogenide, the Ag polarized photodoping will be show a capability of new method that suggested more improvement of photoinduced anisotrophy property

  • The attackers on Internet-connected systems we are seeing today are more serious and technically complex than those in the past. So it is beyond the scope of amy one system to deal with the intrusions. That the multiple IDSes (Intrusion Detection System) coordinate by sharing attacker's information for the effective detection of the intrusion is the effective method for improving the intrusion detection performance. The system which uses BBA (BlackBoard Architecture) for the information sharing can be easily expanded by adding new agents and increasing the number of BB (BlackBoard) levels. Moreover the subdivided levels of blackboard enhance the sensitivity of the intrusion detection. For the simulation, security models are constructed based on the DEVS (Discrete EVent system Specification) formalism. The intrusion detection agent uses the ES (Expert System). The intrusion detection system detects the intrusions using the blackboard and the firewall responses these detection information.

  • The therapeutic use of protein pharmaceuticals produced by recombinant DNA technology is increasing in recent decades. In order to investigate the quality of recombinant proteins, it is important to identify and assign the impurities produced in the process of recombination or in storage conditions. Capillary Electrophoresis is emerging technology exhibiting high sensitivity, selectivity and speed and may be most powerful tools for this application. In this study, human growth hormone (hGH) has been analyzed by various mode of capillary electrophoresis such as capillary zone electrophoresis (CZE), capillary gel electrophoresis (CGE), and capillary isoelectric focusing (cIEF) to indicate the chemically or biologically oriented variants and the degraded fragments.
