Speed Control of BLDC Motor Drive Using an Adaptive Fuzzy P+ID Controller (적응 퍼지 P+ID 제어기를 이용한 BLDC 전동기의 속도제어)

  • An adaptive fuzzy P + ID controller for variable speed operation of BLDC motor drives is presented in this paper. Generally, a conventional PID controller is most widely used in industry due to its simple control structure and ease of design. However, the PID controller suffers from the electrical machine parameter variations and disturbances. To improve the tracking performance for parameter and load variations, the controller proposed in this paper is constructed by using an adaptive fuzzy logic controller in place of the proportional term in a conventional PID controller. For implementing this controller, only one additional parameter has to be adjusted in comparison with the PID controller. An adaptive fuzzy controller applied to proportional term to achieve robustness against parameter variations has simple structure and computational simplicity. The controller based on optimal fuzzy logic controller has an self-tuning characteristics with clustering. Computer simulation results show the usefulness of the proposed controller.

  • In this paper, we proposed two types of adaptive control mechanism which is named HIA(Humoral Immune Algorithm) PID and CMIA(Cell-Mediated Immune Algorithm) controller based on biological immune system under engineering point of view. The HIA PID which has real time control scheme is focused on the humoral immunity and the latter which has the self-tuning mechanism is focused on the T-cell regulated immune response. To verify the performance of the proposed controller, some experiments for the control of AGV which is used for the port automation to carry container without human are performed. The experimental results for the control of steering and speed of an AGV system illustrate the effectiveness of the proposed control scheme. Moreover, in that results, proposed controllers have better performance than other conventional PID controller and intelligent control method which is the NN(neural network) PID controller.

High Speed Precision Control of Mobile Robot using Neural Network in Real Time (신경망을 이용한 이동 로봇의 실시간 고속 정밀제어)

  • In this paper we propose a fast and precise control algorithm for a mobile robot, which aims at the self-tuning control applying two multi-layered neural networks to the structure of computed torque method. Through this algorithm, the nonlinear terms of external disturbance caused by variable task environments and dynamic model errors are estimated and compensated in real time by a long term neural network which has long learning period to extract the non-linearity globally. A short term neural network which has short teaming period is also used for determining optimal gains of PID compensator in order to come over the high frequency disturbance which is not known a priori, as well as to maintain the stability. To justify the global effectiveness of this algorithm where each of the long term and short term neural networks has its own functions, simulations are peformed. This algorithm can also be utilized to come over the serious shortcoming of neural networks, i.e., inefficiency in real time.

  • In this paper the structure of 2-DOF controller based on artificial immune network algorithms has been suggested for nonlinear system. Up to present time, a number of structures of the 2-DOF controllers are considered as 2-DOF (2-Degrees Of Freedom) control functions. However, a general view is provided that they are the special cases of either the state feedback or the modification of PID controllers. On the other hand, the immune network system possesses a self organizing and distributed memory, also it has an adaptive function by feed back law to its external environment and allows a PDP (parallel distributed processing) network to complete patterns against the environmental situation, since antibody recognizes specific antigens which are the foreign substances that invade living creatures. Therefore, it can provide optimal solution to external environment. Simulation results by immune based 2-DOF controller reveal that immune algorithm is an effective approach to search for 2-DOF controller.

  • In general, the electronic forklift driven by DC motor drive system is used in the industrial field. Classically, the DC motor is controlled by speed control using proportion control method, by output torque following the load on the plane like a manual operation. But in the industrial field, the electronic forklift is demanded the robust drive mode. Some cases of the mode, there are trouble in torque and speed control following slope capacity. The control is sensitive concerning with slope angle and output speed, various control method is studied for stability of speed control. We apply speed controller for the self-tuning using DSP(TMS320F240) as main controller for high speed processor, embody dynamic characteristic of control compared the PI control to the fuzzy control.

  • In this paper we have disigned and implemented a real time ALE (adaptive line enhancer) using a high speed digital processor,NEC 7720. For the ALE system, we have employed an adaptive LMS(least mean square) algorithm proposed by Widrow and Hoff and a 32-order FIR(finite impulse response) filter. Extensive computer simulations have been performed to investigate the peformance of the ALE and to determine necessary parameters for hardware design. The developed software for an NEC 7720 was tested in real time operation using an NEC7720 hardware emulator. The ALE has been tested by sinusoidal waves and real CW (continuous wave) signals. It was found that the experimental results were well agreed with the computer simulation results. Thus it can be concluded that the ALE is useful for detection and enhancement of a sinusoidal signal which is corrupted by an additive Gaussian noise.

  • 퍼지 논리 제어기(FLC)는 복잡한 프로세스와 비선형 프로세스와 비선형 프로세스에 사용되기 위해 연구되어져왔다. PI형 퍼지 제어기는 가장 보편적이고 실용적이다. 그러나 종래의 PI형 퍼지 제어기들은 큰 불감대를 가진 시스템이나 비선형 시스템에 대해 큰 오버슛과 과도한 발진으로 인해 불안정하다. 본 논문에서는 PI형 퍼지 제어기에서 제어 입력의 축적에 의해 야기된 오버슛을 제거하기 위한 관점에서, 두 개의 퍼지 제어기를 사용하여 좋은 성능을 이루기 위해, 직접적인 성능치로부터가 아니라, 현재의 프로세스 경향에만 의존하여, 조정하는 제어동작들을 발생하는 자기 동조 메카니즘을 사용하였다. 시뮬레이션 결과, 비선형 프로세스뿐만 아니라 선형의 다양한 형태를 갖는 프로세스에서 제안된 PI형 퍼지 제어기가 종래의 제어기의 성능을 능가한다는 것을 보여준다.

  • In this paper GFI (Generalized Fuzzy Isodata) and FI (Fuzzy Isodata) algorithms are studied and applied to the tire tread pattern classification problem. GFI algorithm which repeatedly grouping the partitioned cluster depending on the fuzzy partition matrix is general form of GI algorithm. In the constructing the binary tree using GFI algorithm cluster validity, namely, whether partitioned cluster is feasible or not is checked and construction of the binary tree is obtained by FDH clustering algorithm. These algorithms show the good performance in selecting the prototypes of each patterns and classifying patterns. Directions of edge in the preprocessed image of tire tread pattern are selected as features of pattern. These features are thought to have useful information which well represents the characteristics of patterns.

  • This paper presents self tuning PI controller of IPMSM drive using neural network. NNPI controller is developed to minimize overshoot, rise time and settling time following sudden parameter changes such as speed, load torque and inertia. Also, this paper is proposed speed control of IPMSM using neural network and estimation of speed using artificial neural network(ANN) controller. The results on a speed controller of IPMSM are presented to show the effectiveness of the proposed gain tuner. And this controller is better than the fixed gains one in terms of robustness, even under great variations of operating conditions and load disturbance.

  • A sinusoidal rotatory chair system using a self-tuning and following control by a fuzzy was designed to evaluate the vestibular function and to apply to a robot driving power system. The experimental results by the sinusoidal rotatory chair system were pretty good and whitch had smaller then ${\pm}210$ pulse error on the ${\pm}810^{\circ}$ sinusoidal rotation at 0.12 Hz by using a 850W DC servo motor. As a results, the sinusoidal rotatory chair system may be useful to evaluate the vestibular function in the field of medicine, and it can be used to robotics or a numerical control system (NC) on the industry if the the obtained control method and the system are adapted for a channel.
