일부 치위생과 학생들의 실습 만족도와 사회적 지지 관련 요인 (Related factors of clinical practice satisfaction and social support in dental hygiene students)

  • Objectives: The purpose of the study was to investigate the related factors of clinical practice satisfaction and social support in dental hygiene students. Methods: A self-reported questionnaire was filled out by 420 dental hygiene students in Gwangju and Jeonnam from March 8 to April 8, 2014. Except 26 incomplete answers, 394 data were analyzed. The instrument consisted of general characteristics of the subjects(7 questions), social support(7 questions), and satisfaction level with clinical practice(22 questions). The instrument for satisfaction level with clinical practice included self-esteem(1 question), interest and usefulness(2 questions), knowledge application(1 question), place of clinical practice(1 question), and influence by practice leader(1 question). Cronbach alpha was 0.773 in the study. The instrument of social support was adapted from Park and reconstructed. Social support included emotional support(11 questions), self-esteem support(7 questions), and informative support(4 questions). Social support was score by Likert 5 scale and higher score showed the higher social support. Results: The dental hygiene students got a mean of $3.11{\pm}0.55$ in clinical practice satisfaction. They got 3.35 points in satisfaction with major and 3.32 in satisfaction with curricula(p<0.001). They got a mean of $3.68{\pm}0.55$ in social support. They got $3.69{\pm}0.57$ in emotional support; $3.81{\pm}0.59$ in self-esteem support; and $3.53{\pm}0.66$ in informative support. The influencing variables on satisfaction with clinical practice were self-esteem support(B=0.202), satisfaction with major(B=0.234), and satisfaction with curricula (B=0.128). Conclusions: There was a close relationship between satisfaction with clinical practice and social support. In order to enhance the satisfaction with clinical practice, it is necessary to connect self-esteem support with major satisfaction and curricula satisfaction.

  • Objectives: The purpose of the study is to investigate the relationships between multiple intelligence, academic self-efficacy, satisfaction with major in dental hygiene students. Methods: A self-reported questionnaire was filled out by 490 dental hygiene students in Jeonbuk from March to April, 2015. The questionnaire consisted of 119 questions of multiple intelligences, 28 questions of academic self-efficacy, 5 questions of satisfaction with major by Likert 5 scale. Data were analyzed by descriptive statistics, Pearson's correlation test, and stepwise multiple regression test using SPSS 18.0 program. Results: The students had the highest score in interpersonal intelligence(3.57) and the lowest in naturalist intelligence(2.66). There was a positive correlation between the multiple intelligences, academic self-efficacy and satisfaction with major(p<0.05). The impact of multiple intelligences on academic self-efficacy was influenced by logical-mathematical intelligence, intrapersonal intelligence, musical intelligence, bodily-kinesthetic intelligence, and linguistic intelligence(p<0.05). The variables that had an impact on multiple intelligences and satisfaction with major were interpersonal intelligence and intrapersonal intelligence(p<0.01). Conclusions: The development of multiple intelligences can enhance the satisfaction with the major, quality of education, academic self-efficacy in the dental hygiene students.

일부지역의 주관적인 구취에 대한 인식 및 구취 자가진단에 관한 연구 (The subjective recognition of oral malodor and oral malodor self test)

  • Objectives: The purpose of the study was to investigate the appropriate management and implementation of the oral malodor prevention for the general people. Methods: A self-reported questionnaire was filled out by 420 subjects in Seoul and Gyeonggi Province from March to October, 2013. Except 19 copies, 401 copies were analyzed. The instrument of subjective oral malodor awareness and status was adapted from Yoon and Youn and partly modified. The questionnaire consisted of general characteristics(4 questions), oral malodor awareness(3 questions), oral malodor related characteristics(3 questions), self-diagnostic test of oral malodor(5 questions), and subjective oral malodor and health status(3 questions). Self-diagnostic test of oral malodor was score as yes(1 point) and no(0 point). The subjective oral malodor and health status scoring was done by Likert 5 scale. Cronbach alpha was 0.713 in the self-diagnostic test of oral malodor. Results: The self-recognition rate of oral malodor was 0.8%. When the level of oral malodor increased to 1 point, the self-test of oral malodor increased as the rate of 0.033(p<0.05). Conclusions: There existed no close correlation between subjective recognition of oral malodor and oral malodor self-test. Therefore, oral malodor should be measured by an expert counseling to make an accurate diagnosis. It is important to establish the appropriate oral malodor prevention program for the general people.

측정방법에 따른 노동시간의 차이: 자기기입식 질문법과 시간일지법을 중심으로 (The Discrepancy of Work Time according to the Measures: Self-reported Questions vs. Time-diary Method)

  • 본 논문에서는 자기 기입식 질문법에 의한 평가 노동시간과, 시간일지법에 의한 일기 노동시간 간에, 노동시간의 길이에 의한 체계적인 편차가 존재하는지 밝히고자 하였다. 노동시간의 길이의 측정 및 계산에 있어서, 자기 기입식 질문법은 그 측정의 용이성 등의 장점에 의해 주로 사용되어 온 반면, 시간일지법은 응답자의 행동들을 그 연속성 하에서 기록함으로써 보다 실제에 가까운 생활시간을 구할 수 있다는 장점에 의해 사용되어 왔다. 2004년도 생활시간조사 자료를 이용해 분석한 결과, 평가 노동시간을 기준으로 했을 때에는 평가 노동시간이 증가함에 따라 노동시간의 과대평가의 경향이 강해진다는 결론이 나오는 반면, 일기 노동시간을 기준으로 했을때에는 일기 노동시간이 증가함에 따라 노동시간의 과소평가의 경향이 강해진다는 결론이 나오는, 모순으로 보이는 결과가 나왔다. 공통된 조사에서 나온 자료임에도 불구하고 서로 정반대의 결과를 나타내는 이유는 평균에의 회귀 현상에 의해 무작위 오차가 서로 반대의 방향으로 작용 하기 때문이다. 따라서 평가 노동시간을 기준으로 한 결과만을 근거로 장시간 노동을 하는 사람 일수록 자신의 노동시간을 과대평가하는 경향이 강하다고 주장할 수는 없다. 즉, 노동시간의 증가에 따른 체계적인 편차는 존재하지 않는다는 사실이 확인되었으며, 따라서 이러한 편차의 존재를 근거로 자기 기입식 질문법에 의한 평가 노동시간을 통해 구해진 자료들의 신뢰성에 의문을 제기하는 것 역시 불가능하다.

일부지역 치위생과 학생들의 자아존중감, 전공만족도 및 진로정체감과의 관련성 (Correlations of self-esteem, major satisfaction and career identity in dental hygiene students)

  • Objectives: The purpose of the study is to investigate the factors influencing on self-esteem, major satisfaction, and career identity. Methods: A self-reported questionnaire was filled out by 389 dental hygiene students in three colleges located in Metropolitan area. The questionnaire consisted of 5 questions of general characteristics, 10 questions of self-efficacy, 18 questions of major satisfaction, and 13 questions of career identity by Likert 5 scale. Cronbach's alpha was 0.92 in self-efficacy, 0.90 in major satisfaction, and 0.88 in career identity in the previous studies. Cronbach's alpha in this study was 0.911 in major satisfaction, 0.840 in self-efficacy, and 0.8090 in career identity. The data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, independent t-test, one-way ANOVA, and stepwise multiple regressions. Results: The score was 3.47 in self-esteem, 3.79 in major satisfaction, and 3.03 in career identity. There were significant differences in self-esteem and major satisfaction based on grade, motivation for entering college, and clinical practice satisfaction. In case of career identity, there were significant differences based on characteristics, motivation for college choice, and clinical practice satisfaction. There was a positive correlation between negative self-esteem, positive self-esteem, general satisfaction, awareness satisfaction, curricula satisfaction, interpersonal relation satisfaction, and career identity. The influencing factors on career identity were aptitude, interest, self-esteem, and major satisfaction in order(p<0.001). Conclusions: The career identity is closely related to self-esteem and major satisfaction. It is desirable to open a variety of education courses and to develop systematic and practical programs to the students in order to improve the career identity.

치과의료소비자의 구강건강신념이 건강보험 급여화에 따른 스케일링 행위에 영향을 미치는 요인 (The factors of oral health beliefs on scaling performance by national health insurance coverage in consumers)

  • Objectives: The purpose of this study is to investigate the factors of oral health beliefs on scaling performance by national health insurance coverage in consumers. Methods: The subjects were 353 people living in Seoul, Incheon, and Gyeonggi-do from September 25 to October 20, 2013. They filled out the self-reported questionnaire after receiving informed consents. The questionnaire included 6 questions of general characteristics, 6 questions of oral health behavior, 6 questions of health insurance coverage, and 1 question of subjective oral health recognition. The oral health belief consisted of 6 questions of seriousness, 6 questions of susceptibility, 8 questions of barriers, 5 questions of benefit, and 3 questions of self-efficacy measure by Likert 5 scale. Cronbach's alpha in the study was 0.759. Data were analyzed using SPSS version 20.0 for frequency analysis, t-test, ANOVA, post-hoc Scheffe test, Pearson's correlation coefficient, and binary logistic regression. Results: The influencing factors of oral health belief model were Seriousness(${\beta}=0.091$), Self efficacy(${\beta}=-0.471$) and age(${\beta}=0.855$)(p<0.05). Those who had highly perceived seriousness and younger age tended to have probability of scaling performance. Higher self-efficacy tended to take more chance to have scaling performance probability. Conclusions: In order to cover the scaling by national health insurance, it is very important to notice the benefit of health insurance coverage of scaling to the consumers. National health insurance coverage enables the scaling practice to be easily accessible to the people. Easy access to scaling by low cost strategy can improve the oral health behavior.

자기평가가 학습자의 수학 학습 성향에 미치는 영향 (The Effect of Self-reported Evaluation on Students' Mathematics Learning Styles)

  • 본 연구에서 개발한 자기평가 도구는 학습자 스스로 평가할 세부 내용을 결정하여 자신의 학습을 점검하고 평가할 수 있으며, 자기평가 결과를 피드백을 받을 수 있도록 하였다. 자기평가를 활용한 학습이 학습자의 수학 학습 성향에 어떠한 영향을 미치는 지 알아보기 위해 사전 사후 검사를 실시하였으며, 그 결과 자기평가가 수학학습 자신감을 향상시키며, 수학학습 자기 전략을 세우고, 메타인지 능력 신장에도 효과가 있는 것으로 나타났다. 또한 자기평가지의 질적 분석을 한 결과 학생들은 자기평가지를 통해 그 날 배운 내용을 정리하는 인지적 활동과 더불어 학습습관이나 태도, 학습상태를 파악하고 개선하려는 모습을 보였다. 또한 교사는 자기평가지를 통해 개별 질문 및 피드백을 함으로써 학생들과 의사소통할 수 있었다.

치위생과 학생의 성취동기 및 자아개념이 임상실습 만족도에 미치는 영향 (Influence of achievement motivation and self concept on clinical practice satisfaction in the dental hygiene students)

  • Objectives: The purpose of this study was to investigate the influence of achievement motivation and self concept on clinical practice satisfaction in the dental hygiene students. Methods: A self-reported questionnaire was filled out by 206 dental hygiene students in Jeonnam from December to October, 2013. The questionnaire consisted of 6questions of general characteristics, 6 questions of achievement motivation, 18 questions of self concept, and 23 questions of clinical practice satisfaction. Cronbach's alpha was 0.881, 0.889, and 0.935 in achievement motivation, self concept, and clinical practice satisfaction, respectively. The data were analyzed by t-test, one way ANOVA, Pearson correlation coefficient and multiple regression analysis. Results: Clinical practice satisfaction showed a significant difference by grade(p<0.05), personality(p<0.05) and satisfaction of major(p<0.01). Clinical practice satisfaction had a positive correlation with achievement motivation(r=0.508, p<0.01) and self concept(r=0.324, p<0.01). Multiple logistic regression analysis revealed that clinical practice satisfaction was related with achievement motivation(p<0.05) and self concept(p<0.01). Conclusions: The clinical practice satisfaction depends on achievement motivation and self concept. It is necessary to develop the program to improve satisfaction level of clinical practice by achievement motivation and self concept.

일부 보육교사들의 구강건강인식, 구강건강행위, 자아존중감 및 OHIP-14와의 연관성과 영향요인 (Correlation and influencing factors on oral health awareness, oral health behavior, self-esteem and OHIP-14 in childcare teachers)

  • Objectives: The purpose of the study is to investigate the correlation and influencing factors of oral health awareness, oral health behaviors, self-esteem and OHIP-14. Methods: A self-reported questionnaire was filled out by 313 childcare teachers in Jeonnam from June 4 to 14, 2013. The questionnaire consisted of 3 questions of general characteristics, 4 questions of occupation, 1 question of oral health education experience, and 1 question of oral health education participation. The instrument for awareness and behavior of oral health were modified and consisted of 10 questions of awareness and 10 questions of behavior by Likert 5 scale. Cronbach's alpha was 0.718 in awareness and 0.812 in behavior. Instrument for self-esteem was modified from Rosenberg. Self-esteem questionnaire consisted fo 5 questions of positive answers and 5 questions of negative answers by Likert 5 scale. Cronbach's alpha in self esteem was 0.846 in the study. Oral Health Impact Profile-14(OHIP-14) was adapted from Slade by Likert 5 scale and consisted fo 14 questions. Cronbach's alpha was 0.934 in the study. Data were analyzed by chi square test, t-test, one way ANOVA, Scheffe multiple range test, Pearason's correlation test, and stepwise multiple regression test. Results: There were positive correlations between oral health awareness, oral health behavior(r=0.502), and self-esteem(r=0.332), but negative correlations with OHIP-14. Oral health behavior showed positive correlations with self-esteem(r=0.230). The factors on oral health awareness were high oral health behavior and self esteem, low OHIP-14, and active participation in education. Self-esteem was closely related to high with high oral health awareness. low OHIP-14, low job satisfaction. Conclusions: Childcare teachers play the very important roles in the development of oral health education program for children and continuous education.

치과기공사의 은퇴기대가 은퇴준비에 미치는 영향 (The influence of the retirement expectation on retirement preparation in the dental technicians)

  • Objectives: The purpose of the study is to investigate the influencing factors of retirement expectation on retirement preparation in the dental technicians. Methods: The subjects were 231 dental technicians in Seoul. A self-reported questionnaire was completed from July 1, 2014 to September 30, 2014. The study instrument was adapted from Bae and Jeon. The questionnaire consisted of 42 questions including 6 questions of the general characteristics of the subjects, 2 questions of health status and self-esteem, 20 questions of retirement expectation, and 14 questions of retirement preparation measured by Likert 5 scale. Results: Single, younger aged, and highly educated female tended to have the expectation for the new start of career. The expectation for the rest was higher in single than in the married. The influencing factors of retirement expectation were marital status. Those who were single chose the retirement. Those who had long career preferred the new start. Conclusions: The preparation for the retirement is very important in one's life and it is necessary to provide the concrete method and plan for the dental technicians in the future.
