  • This paper explored the differences in university students' e-Sports patterns(e-Sports behaviors, its meaning and personalities) based on the types of game-lifestyle. The results of this study could be summarized as follows. First, game-lifestyle was categorized into 5 groups, that is, 'game with someone', 'game alone', 'addicted to game', 'novice for game' and 'flow in game'. Second, there were remarkable differences in e-Sports behaviors, its meaning and personalities(altruism, sociality and aggression) among these 5 groups. Specifically, The group of 'addicted to game' was similar to the group of 'flow in game' in the amount of time/money for game. Moreover they were highly likely to regard e-Sports game defeat as the reflection of their self-esteem and as the tool of gaining popularity/superiority to peers. Even though these similarities, the group of 'flow in game' was inclined not to permit deviant words/deeds and to keep the good manner in the cyber space as well as the real space, while the group of 'addicted to game' was permissible wrong and aggressive behaviors in the both cyber space and real space. Third, the group of 'novice for game' was less likely to participate in e-Sports activities(playing e-Sports game and watching TV) and to be less attracted to e-Sports than other groups. Moreover they had negative perspectives on e-Sports. In specific, they regarded it as a dangerous and addictive leisure activity hindering everyday life(study, relationship with peers/family etc) and health. These results would be used to develop game/e-Sports education program

  • The purpose of this study is to categorize the adaptation of re-employed injured workers to the workplace and to explore the determinants that affect their adaptation to the workplace. In order to categorize the group of re-employed injured workers to adapt to the workplace, a latent profile analysis was conducted on 522 injured workers. As a result of the analysis, the workplace adaptation group was classified into three types: environmental dominant adaptation type (group 1), work-oriented adaptation type (group 2), and 'environmental adaptation type (group 3). In addition, as a result of conducting a mixed regression analysis to analyze the factors influencing their adaptation to the workplace after industrial accident, it was found that the work-oriented adaptation and environmental adaptation adaptation type were lower than the environmental dominant adaptation type. In addition, it was confirmed that educational background and self-esteem are factors that have an important influence on the adaptation of injured workers to the workplace. Based on the results of this study, it was suggested that the system needs to be supplemented in two aspects: customized support for individuals in the pre-reemployment stage and the employment environment after re-employment in order to increase the adaptation of injured workers to work. Specifically, there are consideration of the development and spread of rehabilitation programs and the expansion of the scope of subsidies that were paid only to the original business owners. Through this study, it is expected that more targeted policy measures can be prepared for re-employed injured workers.

  • For married immigrant women, social participation is a process of meeting and interacting with community members on a continuous or regular basis. Community participation of married immigrant women has an important role not only in adapting to the new environment but also in improving their quality of life in terms of their self-esteem and life satisfaction. It also forms an important social network of the community and strengthens social capital. However, their social participation should be based not on the level of 'adaptation' or 'settlement', but on mutual awareness that respects and accepts the social and cultural background of migrant women and their native countries, that is interculturalism. Unlike multiculturalism which emphasizes cultural differences, interculturalism emphasizes mutual understanding and mutual interaction among various cultures based on universality. This study examines various theories and policy models of the multiculturalism, and introduces the recently discussed interculturalism. Then, this study applies the issue of the migrant women's social participation by conducting and analyzing a qualitative research. This study took deep interviews with leaders of three selected social economic organizations and conducted Focus Group Interviews with major participants of those groups.

  • The study explored the University Based Retirement Community (UBRC) program, which is suggested as an alternative to sustainable care in crisis of caring for our society. UBRC is one of the specific community care programs based on the philosophy of the Aging in Place (AIP). The UBRC is a program for retirees to be linked by senior housing complexes and universities to meet their intellectual, social and physical needs. Currently, the UBRC is being conducted as a pilot project at Y University in Yongin in Korea. The study explored the characteristic, effectiveness, ustainability of care in the UBRC program conducted at Y University through qualitative research. Characteristic was defined as university-based integration program, university association program, and community-adult program. The effects of the UBRC program increased the ability of the elderly in general, including satisfaction, health, interaction between generations, relaxation of loneliness and depression, and satisfying intellectual self-esteem. The study participants were positive in that UBRC contributed to the sustainability of care. Although the UBRC is still in its early stages, if the UBRC were to be institutionalized in the future, it would contribute in terms of efficient use of resources, revitalization of areas, community building and increasing community care systems. In Korea, the Act on Long-term Care Insurance, which was enacted in 2007, is based on the principle of priority, but it has not yet been implemented due to the relatively large number of facility users. If the UBRC program is activated, it will contribute not only to the principle of the Long-term Care Insurance Act, but also to the efficient use of resources as well as to increasing social solidarity.

  • This descriptive correlational study was conducted to determine the level of work-life balance, nursing professional pride, and job embeddedness among third shift hospital nurses and to determine the impact of work-life balance and nursing professional pride on job embeddedness. The results were analyzed using questionnaire data from 144 third shift nurses working in a general hospital with at least 12 months of work experience. The collected data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, independent t-test, one-way ANOVA, Pearson's correlation, and hierarchical multiple regression analysis using SPSS WIN/PC 24.0 statistical program. The results of the study showed a relationship between work-life balance level, nursing professional pride, and job embeddedness among third-shift hospital nurses, with nursing professional pride (β=.59, p<.001) and perceived economic status as moderate (β=.20, p=.036) as factors affecting job embeddedness, with statistical significance. The explanatory power of these two variables was 41.1%. Therefore, the development and application of educational and intervention programs that can improve nursing professional self-esteem should be implemented in order to increase the job embeddedness of third shift hospital nurses.

  • The purpose of this study was to determine the correlation between botanical garden visitors' ecological consciousness and their needs, in order to provide some effective measures to manage them. For this purpose, 3 study points were set up: "botanical garden visitors' ecological consciousness and their needs", "differences of such consciousness depending on their demographic variables" and the "relationship between such consciousness and their needs". To this end, Botanical garden visitors were surveyed for an empirical analysis. The visitors' awareness about ecology was measured with Dunlap's 15-item NEP Inventory, while their needs were analyzed in reference to Maslow's 7-Step Human Desire Ladder. The survey was conducted at Botanical garden for 3 days. As a result, a total of 360 questionnaires were returned. The results of this study can be summarized as follows; First, the visitors' ecological consciousness and their needs were higher than normal level. In terms of their consciousness of ecology, their awareness of the ecological crisis potential and anti-humanism were the highest. In terms of their needs, the aesthetic need was the highest, followed by the cognitive need. On the other hand, the needs for self-achievement and self-esteem were the lowest; except them, the higher the needs were positioned at Maslow's ladder of desire, the more responsive the subjects became. As a result of analyzing the correlation between the subjects' consciousness of ecology and their needs, it was found that the correlation was negative in some sub-areas, while being positive in other sub-areas. After all, the ratio of the sub-areas having a positive correlation was 3 times higher than that of the sub-areas having a negative correlation. Even as for the correlation coefficient values, they were higher in the positive sub-areas, which suggests that the correlation between wetland visitors' ecological consciousness and their needs was positive, although at a lower level, in overall terms. As a result of comparatively analyzing visitors' needs by dividing them into 3 sub-groups depending on the levels of their ecological consciousness, it was found that the higher their consciousness of ecology was, the higher their needs were. Overall, botanical garden visitors' ecological awareness was higher than the normal level, and it was estimated that such awareness would continue to increase. Hence, it could be inferred that their needs, particularly their aesthetic and cognitive ones, would also continue to increase. Accordingly, it is important to manage the wetland landscape making use of its visual resources, while keep providing the visitors with the contents fulfilling their need for knowledge.
