  • This paper presents a design technique of self-organizing fuzzy controller using a learning method of fuzzy inference rule by a gradient method for load frequency control of power system. The membership functions in antecedent part and in consequent part of fuzzy inference rules are tuned by the gradient method. The related simulation results show that the proposed fuzzy controller are more powerful than the conventional ones for reduction of undershoot and deviation of load frequency in steady-state, and for minimization of settling time.

  • In this paper, a self-organizing fuzzy controller(SOFC) for the industrial robot manipulator with a actuator located at the base is studied A fuzzy login composed of linguistic conditional statements is employed by defining the relations of input-output variable of the controller, In the synthesis of a FLC, one of the most difficult problems is the determination of linguistic control rules from the human operators. To overcome this difficult SOFC is proposed for a hierarchical control structure consisting of basic level and high level that modify control rules. The proposed SOFC scheme is simple in structure, fast in computations and suitable for implementation of real-time control. Performance of the SOFC is illustrated by simulation and experimental results for robot with low joints.

  • In this paper, a method of self-organizing for fuzzy logic controller(FLC) through learning of the proper direction of coritrol is proposed. In case of designing a self-organizing FLC for unknown dynamic plants based on the gradient descent method, it is difficult to identify the desirable direction of the change of control inpul. in which the error would be decreased. To resolve this problem, we propose a method as fo1lows:at first, assign representative values for the direction of change of error with respect to control input to each partitioned region of the states, and then, learn the fuzzy control rules using the reinforced representative values through iterative trials. 'The proposed self-organizing FLC has simple structure and it is easy to design. The validity of the proposed method is proved by the computer simulation for an inverted pendulum system.

  • This Paper presents an application of a on-line self-organizing fuzzy logic controller to a boiler system of fossil-power plant. A boiler-turbine system is described as a MIMO nonlinear system in this paper. Then, three single loop fuzzy logic controllers are designed independently. The control rules and the membership functions of proposed fuzzy logic control system are generated automatically without using plant model. The simulation shows successful results for wide range operation of boiler system of fossil-power plant.

  • We propose an approach to integrating fuzzy logic control with RBF(Radial Basis Function) networks and show how the integrated network can be applied to multivariable self-organizing and self-learning fuzzy controller. Using the hybrid learning algorithm. To investigate its usefulness and performance, this controller is applied to a time-delayed process system. Simulation results show good control performance and fast convergency in hybrid loaming method.

  • In this paper presents a new approach to the design and real-time implementation of fuzzy control system based-on digital signal processors(DSP:IMS320C80) in order to improve the precision and robustness for system of industrial robot(Dual-Arm with 8 joint Robot). The need to meet demanding control requirement in increasingly complex dynamical control systems under significant uncertainties, leads toward design of intelligent manipulation robots. The IMS320C80 is used in implementing real time fuzzy control to provide an enhanced motion control for robot manipulators. In this paper, a Self-Organizing Fuzzy Controller(SOFC) for the industrial robot manipulator with a actuator located at the base is studied. A fuzzy logic composed of linguistic conditional statements is employed by defining the relations of input-output variables of the controller. In the synthesis of a FLC(Fuzzy Logic Controller), one of the most difficult problems is the determination of linguistic control rules from the human operators. To overcome this difficult SOFC is proposed for a hierarchical control structure consisting of basic and high levels that modify control rules. • A RMFSOC(Reference Model Following Self-Organizing Fuzzy Logic Controller) is propose in this paper. In the RMFSOC, the refernce model is introduced, where the desired control performance can be specified by an operator of the controlled process. The self-organizing level of the RMFSOC organizes the control rules of FLC which make the process output follow the reference model output. In addition, for the use of preventing improper modifications of control rules, a complementary decission rule is induced from the possible relations between the process output and reference model output. Through a simulation study, it is shown that the robustness of the control system using the proposed RMFSOC to the set-point changes and distur bances can be greatly improved being conpared with that of the control system using the Procyk and Mamdani's SOC.
