This study was conducted to identify factors affecting nursing performance of delirium among nursing students. A total of 252 fourth year students were recruited from nursing department in Gwangju. Structured questionnaire was self-administrated from April to September, 2017. The used statistical analysis were t-test, ANOVA, Pearson's coefficient and multiple regression analysis. Knowledge of delirium 29.0±7.24, self-confidence in the care for delirium 71.65±28.55 and nursing performance level for patients with delirium was 41.16±8.97. Nursing performance of delirium had significant positive correlations with delirium knowledge, self-confidence of delirium care. In multiple regression analysis, nursing experience for delirium patients, self-confidence of delirium care, practice experience in intensive care unit, use of nursing diagnosis related to delirium, and satisfaction of clinical practice were significant factors of nursing performance of delirium explaining 29.8% of the variables. In conclusion, to enhance nursing performance of delirium, it is necessary to develop educational program for increasing nursing experience for delirium patients during clinical practice and self-confidence of delirium care.
The purpose of this study was to investigate the attitudes and performing confidence, and factors influencing patient safety of dental hygiene students. The questionnaire contained items on the subjects' general characteristics, attitudes, and performing confidence in relation to patient safety. The self-reported questionnaire was administered to 287 dental hygiene students in Gwangju and Jeonnam, Korea from September to November 2017. We performed an independent t-test, one-way ANOVA analysis, Pearson's correlation coefficient, and multiple regression analysis using IBM SPSS ver. 21.0 software. As a result of differences in attitude, and performing confidence according to the general characteristics, attitude toward patient safety scored 3.48 out of 5 points, and was more positive in students from 4-year colleges, with high major satisfaction, and in students who answered that they needed patient safety education. Performing confidence for patient safety scored 3.57 out of 5 points, and was statistically significantly higher in 4-year college students, with higher major satisfaction, amongst those with experience in patient safety education, and when patient safety education was needed before clinical practice or employment. There were positive correlations between attitude and performing confidence for patient safety. As a result of analyzing the factors influencing attitude and performing confidence for patient safety, attitudes were higher with higher performing confidence and performing confidence had the highest satisfaction rate of the major and patient safety education experience. Therefore, it is necessary to provide systematic education at universities reflecting the characteristics of dental medical institutions, as well as developing various education contents and education methods.
Purpose: The purpose of this study was to investigate perceptions of fatherhood among fathers of high-risk neonates and their confidence regarding neonatal care. Methods: A study was conducted of 100 fathers whose neonates had been admitted to a neonatal intensive care unit (NICU) for at least 48 hours. Perceptions of fatherhood, neonatal characteristics, and fathers' confidence regarding neonatal care were measured using a self-reported questionnaire. The survey took approximately 10 minutes to complete and was completed anonymously. The factors that affected fathers' confidence regarding neonatal care were analyzed using multiple regression. Results: The scores for positive and negative perceptions of fatherhood were relatively high at 4.27 and 3.42 out of 5 points, respectively. A positive perception of fatherhood was found to influence fathers' confidence regarding neonatal care. Conclusion: NICU nurses should encourage fathers to effectively perform their parenting roles by implementing educational programs and interventions to promote positive perceptions of fatherhood and fathers' confidence regarding neonatal care after discharge.

The domain of entrepreneurship has been dotted across various paradigms. Identifying and examining entrepreneurial intention and propensity to it spontaneously require the insight from the lens of psychological approach. The aim of this study is to examine the influence and impact of psychological factors on entrepreneurial intention; as it is found that in Bangladeshi context several entrepreneurship studies are undertaken, still the exploratory research on interplay between the psychological factors (i.e., self-confidence, locus of control, need for achievement, and tolerance for ambiguity) and entrepreneurial intention has been merely found. The study has chosen Bangladeshi university students as the unit of analysis and the ultimate sample size in this research is n=265. The current paper is a quantitative study where sampling method is followed by convenience sampling technique, and study data is collected through survey questionnaire. Data has been compiled into SPSS whereas, for hypotheses assessment, Smart PLS software is applied. The results reflect that self-confidence, locus of control, and need for achievement are revealed as contributory determinants of entrepreneurial intention while tolerance for ambiguity is found as an insignificant predictor. The current research is expected to offer an in-depth understanding about the significance of psychological factors in examining entrepreneurial intention.

Purpose: Clinical training for nursing students is limited to rudimentary skills to avoid potential risks. Simulation-Based Training (SBT) can overcome the shortcomings of clinical training. We evaluated the educational effect of SBT for obstetrical nursing students using high-fidelity simulation courses. Methods: We developed a simulation program for obstetrical nursing students to practice nursing skills that are necessary to provide quality care. The program consisted of four sessions. 1st: An orientation and a preliminary test. 2nd: Learning core skills required in obstetrical nursing. 3rd: Testing each student with scenario. 4th: Providing a debriefing session. At the beginning of the program, students were surveyed about their self-confidence in obstetrical nursing care, and at the end of the program, they were surveyed about the adequacy of SBT as well as self-confidence. Results: Students' self-confidence showed a significant difference before and after simulation. Mean adequacy of SBT was $7.15{\pm}1.35$ (out of 10). Most students became more interested in Women's Health Nursing after SBT. Conclusion: The results from evaluating the effects of simulation-based obstetrical nursing training show that SBT provides invaluable clinical experience for obstetrical nursing students by overcoming the lack of actual clinical involvement in clinical training programs.

Background: A school-based smoke free home (SFH) program is useful in empowering the mother and child to reduce secondhand smoke exposure but the effects of pretesting on knowledge and attitude has been largely ignored. We aimed to test whether such a program can be effective in Southern Thailand with an additional assessment of the net effect of the pretest. Materials and Methods: A Solomon four-group design was used. Twelve rural primary schools were assigned to one of the four conditions (each with 3 schools): intervention with and without a pretest, control with and without the same pretest. The intervention was performed in the classroom and home over a period of 1 month. Outcomes were assessed at baseline and 3 months after the intervention on whether the home was smoke free and related knowledge and attitude. Results: The intervention could lead to a smoke-free home without statistical significance. Attitude, knowledge and self-confidence on creating a smoke-free home, and self-confidence in avoidance of secondhand smoke exposure and persuading smokers to not smoke in their home were significantly improved. No pretest effect was observed. Conclusions: Gain in attitude, knowledge and self-confidence among family members from the brief school-based education should be enhanced by other measures.
This study was undertaken to investigate dietary status, food habits, and nutritional knowledge of university students majoring in judo (n=239) and to evaluate the effect of dietary behavior on their athletic activities. Mean daily dietary intakes (3,854.0 kcal) were similar to mean daily energy consumptions (3,975.5 kcal). Average daily intakes of most vitamins and minerals were higher than Korean Recommended Dietary Allowances except for the intake of vitamin A. Self-confidence on judo affected dietary behavior of the subjects: Subjects who had more self-confidence on judo showed more interest in good nutrition and concerned more about foods which could promote their athletic activities. Many side effects were manifested after sudden weight control for judo competition during school days. Therefore, it is suggested that good education on nutrition is necessary not only for athletic students, but also for coaches and trainers of the students. Ten weeks of education on nutrition significantly improved both food habits and nutritional knowledge of the subjects. Food habits were positively correlated with self-confidence on judo. Therefore, it is suggested that improvement of food habits through good education on nutrition would be helpful to improve athletic activities of the students.
