  • In this study the classified researches the artificial and natural flaws in welding parts are performed using the pattern recognition technology. For this purpose the signal pattern recognition package including the user defined function was developed and the total procedure including the digital signal processing feature extraction feature selection and classifi-er selection is teated by bulk,. Specially it is composed with and discussed using the statistical classifier such as the linear discriminant function the empirical Bayesian classifier. Also the pattern recognition technology is applied to classifica-tion problem of natural flaw(i.e multiple classification problem-crack lack of penetration lack of fusion porosity and slag inclusion the planar and volumetric flaw classification problem), According to this result it is possible to acquire the recognition rate of 83% above even through it is different a little according to domain extracting the feature and the classifier.

  • This paper considers the effects of simultaneous correlated multipath fading and shadowing on the performances of a signal-to-interference ratio (SIR)-based dual-branch selection combining (SC) diversity receiver. This analysis includes the presence of cochannel interference. A generalized fading/shadowing channel model in an interference-limited correlated fading environment is modeled by generalized-K distribution. Closed-form expressions are obtained for probability density function and cumulative distribution function of the SC output SIR, as well as for the outage probability. Based on this, the influence of various fading and shadowing parameter values and the correlation level on the outage probability is examined.

  • The object of the thermal error compensation system in machine tools is improving the accuracy of a machine tool through real time error compensation. The accuracy of the machine tool totally depends on the accuracy of thermal error model. A thermal error model can be obtained by appropriate combination of temperature variables. The proposed method for optimal variable selection in the thermal error model is based on correlation grouping and successive regression analysis. Collinearity matter is improved with the correlation grouping and the judgment function which minimizes residual mean square is used. The linear model is more robust against measurement noises than an engineering judgement model that includes the higher order terms of variables. The proposed method is more effective for the applications in real time error compensation because of the reduction in computational time, sufficient model accuracy, and the robustness.

  • For system maintenance optimization, it is necessary to establish a state information system by CBM+ including CBM and RCM, and sensor selection for CBM+ application requires system process for function model analysis at the early design stage. The study investigated the contents of CBM and CBM+, analyzed the function analysis tasks and procedures of the system, and thus presented a D-FMEA based sensor selection inference methodology at the early stage of design for CBM+ application, and established it as a D-FMEA based sensor selection inference process. The D-FMEA-based sensor inference methodology and procedure in the early design stage were presented for diesel engine sub assembly.

  • In this paper, we proposed a feature selection method using Binary Particle Swarm Optimization(BPSO) and Mutual information. This proposed method consists of the feature selection part for selecting candidate feature subset by mutual information and the optimal feature selection part for choosing optimal feature subset by BPSO in the candidate feature subsets. In the candidate feature selection part, we computed the mutual information of all features, respectively and selected a candidate feature subset by the ranking of mutual information. In the optimal feature selection part, optimal feature subset can be found by BPSO in the candidate feature subset. In the BPSO process, we used multi-object function to optimize both accuracy of classifier and selected feature subset size. DNA expression dataset are used for estimating the performance of the proposed method. Experimental results show that this method can achieve better performance for pattern recognition problems than conventional ones.

  • In this paper we introduced a new score generating function for the rank dispersion function in a multiple linear model. Based on the new score function, we derived the asymptotic relative efficiency, ARE(11, rs), of our score function with respect to the Wilcoxon scores for the generalized F distributions which show very flexible distributions with a variety of shape and tail behaviors. We thoroughly explored the selection of r and s of our new score function that provides improvement over the Wilcoxon scores.

  • Some gate valves are susceptible to pressure locking and thermal binding which prevent the safety function. The safety related gate valves susceptible to pressure locking and thermal binding shall be identified and taken preventive actions to ensure the safety function. The identification of the gate valves susceptible to pressure locking and thermal binding needs the evaluation of system design, valve and piping arrangement, test requirements, and operating conditions. Application of preventive methods should consider the system safety function, applicability, effectiveness, interface with system design, and cost. The selection procedure of valves susceptible to pressure locking and thermal binding can be effectively used in industry including nuclear power plants. In order to prevent the pressure locking, the hole can be drilled through the one disc of upstream side or down stream and the external equalizing line can be installed from bonnet to downstream or upstream. The double disc parallel seat valve type can be used instead of flexible wedge gate valve to prevent the thermal binding. The identification of gate valves susceptible to pressure locking and thermal binding, and preventive actions will meet the regulatory requirements and enhance the availability and safety of plants.

  • The high-altitude and mobility characteristics of unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) have made them a key element of new radio systems, particularly because they can exceed the limits of terrestrial networks. However, at high altitudes, UAVs can be significantly affected by intercell interference at a high line-of-sight probability. To mitigate this drawback, we propose an algorithm that selects the optimal beam to reduce interference and maximize transmission efficiency. The proposed algorithm comprises two steps: constructing a user-location-based fingerprint database according to the user types presented herein and cooperative beam selection. Simulations were conducted using cellular cooperative downlink systems for analyzing the performance of the proposed method, and the signal-to-interference-plus-noise cumulative distribution function and spectral efficiency cumulative distribution function were used as performance analysis indicators. Simulation results showed that the proposed algorithm could reduce the effect of interference and increase the performance of the desired signal. Moreover, the algorithm could efficiently reduce overheads and system cost by reducing the amount of resources required for information exchange.

  • The Clonal Selection Algorithm (CSA) is an algorithm inspired by the human immune system mechanism. In CSA, several parameters needs to be optimized by large amount of sensitivity analysis for the optimal results. They limit the accuracy of the results due to the uncertainty and subjectivity. Adaptive Clonal Selection (ACS), a modified version of CSA, is developed as an algorithm without controls by pre-defined parameters in terms of selection process and mutation strength. In this paper, we discuss the ACS in detail and present its implementation in construction site utilization planning (CSUP). When applied to a developed model published in research literature, it proves that the ACS are capable of searching the optimal layout of temporary facilities on construction site based on the result of objective function, especially when the parameterization process is considered. Although the ACS still needs some improvements, obtaining a promising result when working on a same case study computed by Genetic Algorithm and Electimze algorithm prove its potential in solving more complex construction optimization problems in the future.
