  • This study reviews the engineering properties of vegetation as one of all factors to select vegetation species for slope protection. The vegetation species mainly applied in domestic soil slope protection were inspected, and the root properties such as root pattern, root length, root weight, were analyzed. And then direct shear tests on undisturbed fine sand including roots were performed to review the effect of root reinforcement. From these analyses, it was concluded that the engineering properties of vegetation should be considered to select vegetation species for slope protection.

  • In this paper, for efficient data classification in multispectral bands environment, a band feature extraction method using the Rough sets theroy is proposed. First, we make a look up table from training data, and analyze the properties of experimental multispectral image data, then select the efficient band usin indiscernibility relation of Rough sets theory from analysis results. Proposed method is applied to LAMDSAT TM data on 2, June, 1992. Among them, normal distributive data were experimented, mainly. From this, we show clustering trends that similar to traditional band selection results by wavelength properties, from this, we verify that can use the proposed method that centered on data properties to select the efficient bands, though data sensing environment change to hyperspectral band environments.

  • Processing techniques of remote sensed image data using computer have been recognized very necessary techniques to all social fields, such as, environmental observation, land cultivation, resource investigation, military trend grasp and agricultural product estimation, etc. Especially, accurate classification and analysis to remote sensed image da are important elements that can determine reliability of remote sensed image data processing systems, and many researches have been processed to improve these accuracy of classification and analysis. Traditionally, remote sensed image data processing systems have been processed 2 or 3 selected bands in multiple bands, in this time, their selection criterions are statistical separability or wavelength properties. But, it have be bring up the necessity of bands selection method by data distribution characteristics than traditional bands selection by wavelength properties or statistical separability. Because data sensing environments change from multispectral environments to hyperspectral environments. In this paper for efficient data classification in multispectral bands environment, a band feature extraction method using the Rough sets theory is proposed. First, we make a look up table from training data, and analyze the properties of experimental multispectral image data, then select the efficient band using indiscernibility relation of Rough set theory from analysis results. • In order to analyze stamping processes and to select optimum material properties of sheet steels for customer lines, 3-dimensional finite element analysis software were used. Commercial explicit finite element code, PAM-STAMP, was able to simulate 3-dimensional press formed parts with good accuracy and gave some useful results by orthogonal array experiments. Deformation of draw-bead were predicted by ABAQUS accurately, so that material selection for those parts by simulation were possible.

  • The purpose of this study is to investigarte the mix design method and the mechanical properties of High stength Lightweight Concrete (HSLC). In the experment, concrete mixing was conducted to select the optimum mix design for HSLC in laboratory. Also, concrete mixing in ready mix design. As a result, it is possible to establish the mix design of HSLC according to the using these experimental results ;the estimate equation for unit weight of HSLC. the relationship between W/C and compressive strength of HSLC and the fluidity of HSLC in the view of workability

  • This study examined the factors that affect the relationship between consumption value, bakery select properties and satisfaction. A total of 320 questionnaires were distributed to consumers, of which 300 were deemed suitable for analysis after the removal of 20 unusable responses. In order to perform required statistical analyses in the study, the SPSS 18.0 Statistical Program was used for frequency analysis, factor analysis, reliability analysis, correlations, and regression analysis. The results of exploratory factor analysis showed that four factors regarding consumption value were extracted from all measurements with a KMO of 0.841 and a total cumulative variance of 72.937%, With regard to bakery select property, one factor was extracted with a total cumulative variance of 64.917% and a KMO score of 0.756. One factor for satisfaction was extracted that accounted for a total cumulative variance of 76.944% and a KMO score of 0.719. All factors were significant to 0.000 and the correlation between variables was significant. Thus, based on the results, the main research hypothesis that identifies the relationship between consumption value, bakery select property and satisfaction was partially adopted.

  • Bentonite buffer material is a critical component in an engineered barrier system (EBS) for disposing high-level radioactive waste (HLW). The bentonite buffer material protects the disposal canister from groundwater penetration and releases decay heat to the surrounding rock mass; thus, it should possess high thermal conductivity, low hydraulic conductivity, and moderate swelling pressure to safely dispose the HLWs. Bentonite clay is a suitable buffer material because it satisfies the safety criteria. Several additives have been suggested as mixtures with bentonite to increase the thermal-hydraulic-mechanical-chemical (THMC) properties of bentonite buffer materials. Therefore, this study investigated the geotechnical, mineralogical, and THMC properties of several candidate additives such as sand, graphite, granite, and SiC powders. Datasets obtained in this study can be used to select adequate additives to improve the THMC properties of the buffer material.

  • When the wind turbine is used in cold regions, the mechanical properties and dimension stability of the blade will be changed. The proposal of this paper is to test the durability of the blade for wind turbine. It is necessary to select the most comfortable materials and fabrication processes for more stable wind turbine blade in cold regions. To select the most comfortable materials and processes, the static strength has to know through the tensile static tests at the severe condition as cold regions. First, the tensile static specimens made by RIM (Resin injection molding) process & vacuum bagging process with reinforcement materials and resin. Tensile static tests were carried out on three laminate lay-ups (carbon prepreg, carbon fiber dry fabric and glass fiber dry fabric) at different test temperature($24^{\circ}$, $-30^{\circ}$), determining properties such as the mechanical strength, stiffness and strain to failure. At different test temperature, in order to test the tensile strengths of these specimens used the low temperature chamber. Next, the results of this test were compared with each other. Finally, the most comfortable materials and fabrication processes can select based on these results. The results show the changes in the static behavior of three laminate lay-ups at different test temperatures. At low temperatures, the static strengths are higher than the ones at room temperature.
