In a wireless sensor network environment, it is required to ensure anonymity by keeping sensor nodes' identifiers not being revealed and to support real-time authentication, lightweight authentication and synchronization. In particular, there exist possibilities of location information leakage by others, privacy interference and security vulnerability when it comes to wireless telecommunications. Anonymity has been an importance issue in wired and wireless network environment, so that it has been studied in wide range. The sensor nodes are interconnected among them based on wireless network. In terms of the sensor node, the researchers have been emphasizing on its calculating performance limit, storage device limit, and smaller power source. To improve of biometric-based D. He scheme, this study proposes a real-time authentication protocol using Unique Random Sequence Code(URSC) and variable identifier for enhancing network performance and retaining anonymity provision.

The RFID system has the security problem of location tracking and user privacy. In order to solve this problem, the cryptographic access method using hash function is difficult to in real applications. Because there is a limit of computing and storage capacity of Tag, but the safety is proved. The lightweight authentication methods like HB and LMAP guarantee the high efficiency, but the safety is not enough to use. In this paper, we use the AES for RFID Authentication, and solve the problem of using fixed key with key change step by step. The symmetric keys of the tag and server are changed by the random number generated by tag, reader and server successively. This could prevent the key exposure. As a result, the output of the tag and reader always changes. These key changes could make it possible to prevent eavesdropping, replay attack, location tracking and spoofing.
Although various home services are developed as increasing the number of home devices with wire and wireless connection, privacy infringement and private information leakage are occurred by unauthorized remote connection. It is almost caused by without of device authentication and protection of transmission data. In this paper, the devices' secret value are stored in a safe memory of a smartphone. A smartphone processes device authentication. In order to prevent leakage of a device's password, a shadow password multiplied a password by the private key is stored in a device. It is proposed mutual authentication between a smartphone and a device, and session key agreement for devices using recovered passwords on SRP. The proposed protocol is resistant to eavesdropping, a reply attack, impersonation attack.
Many countries, especially ICT powers, are supporting IoT-based technology at a national level and this technology is actively being researched in the businesses and research institutes in an aim to develop technology and create an ecosystem. Roads in the Seoul city are building public facilities based on IoT to provide various services and conveniences for the users. However, for the full-fledged introduction and development of IoT, there are many cases where infringement on security and privacy and threat for life and safety happen. Also, as the IoT environment includes various environment technologies such as the existing sensor network, heterogeneous communication network, and devices optimized for the IoT environment, it inherits the existing security threat and various attack techniques. This paper researches the attribute based encryption technology for safe communication in the IoT environment. The data collected from the device is transmitted utilizing the attribute based encryption and by designing the key generation protocol, grades and authorities for the device and users are identified to transmit safe messages.

The smart card with the cryptography and VLSI technologies makes it possible to implement the electronic cash easily. A number of electronic each schemes have been proposed by many cryptographic researchers. In this paper, we propose a practical electronic cash system, using blind digital signature scheme. Schnorr's authentication scheme based on the discrete logarithm problem, and the hierarchical cash tree based on two one-way hash functions for dividable payment. Thisf electronic cash scheme has such properties as privacy of the payment, off-line payment, non-reuseability of cash, transferability of cash to another customer, and dividable payment of cash. This electronic cash protocol is well suited for implementing in smart card.

The fast emerging of network technology and the high demand of computing resources have prompted many organizations to outsource their storage and computing needs. Cloud based storage services such as Microsoft's Azure and Amazon's S3 allow customers to store and retrieve any amount of data, at anytime from anywhere via internet. The scalable and dynamic of the cloud storage services help their customer to reduce IT administration and maintenance costs. No doubt, cloud based storage services brought a lot of benefits to its customer by significantly reducing cost through optimization increased operating and economic efficiencies. However without appropriate security and privacy solution in place, it could become major issues to the organization. As data get produced, transferred and stored at off premise and multi tenant cloud based storage, it becomes vulnerable to unauthorized disclosure and unauthorized modification. An attacker able to change or modify data while data inflight or when data is stored on disk, so it is very important to secure data during its entire life-cycle. The traditional cryptography primitives for the purpose of data security protection cannot be directly adopted due to user's lose control of data under off premises cloud server. Secondly cloud based storage is not just a third party data warehouse, the data stored in cloud are frequently update by the users and lastly cloud computing is running in a simultaneous, cooperated and distributed manner. In our proposed mechanism we protect the integrity, authentication and confidentiality of cloud based data with the encrypt- then-upload concept. We modified and applied proxy re-encryption protocol in our proposed scheme. The whole process does not reveal the clear data to any third party including the cloud provider at any stage, this helps to make sure only the authorized user who own corresponding token able to access the data as well as preventing data from being shared without any permission from data owner. Besides, preventing the cloud storage providers from unauthorized access and making illegal authorization to access the data, our scheme also protect the data integrity by using hash function.

Rekeying is the process of changing the encryption key of an ongoing communication. The main objective is to limit the amount of data encrypted with the same key. The IEEE 802.11 standard defines the Wired Equivalent Privacy, or WEP, encapsulation of 802.11 data frames. MAC at sender encrypts the payload (frame body and CRC) of each 802.11 frame before transmission using RC4 stream cipher. MAC at receiver decrypts and passes data to higher level protocol. WEP uses symmetric key stream cipher (RC4) where same key will be used for data encryption and decryption at the sender and the receiver. WEP is not promising with the advancement of the wireless technology existing today. We propose to use the existing information to define the security attributes. This will eliminate the steps that regenerated keys have to be sent to each other over certain period. The rekeying scheme is according to the number of bytes transmitted. Therefore, even the attacker has recorded the packets, it will be insufficient information and time for the attacker to launch the attacks as the key is not deterministic. We develop a packet simulation software for packet transmission and simulate our propose scheme. From the simulation, our propose scheme will overcome the weak WEP key attack and provide an alternative solution to wireless packet transmission. Besides that, our solution appears to be a software approach where only driver updates are needed for the wireless client and server.

As an important basic building block of the smart grid environment, smart meter provides real-time electricity consumption information to the utility. However, ensuring information security and privacy in the smart meter data aggregation process is a non-trivial task. Even though the secure data aggregation for the smart meter has been a lot of attention from both academic and industry researchers in recent years, most of these studies are not secure against internal attackers or cannot provide data integrity. Besides, their computation costs are not satisfactory because the bilinear pairing operation or the hash-to-point operation is performed at the smart meter system. Recently, blockchains or distributed ledgers are an emerging technology that has drawn considerable interest from energy supply firms, startups, technology developers, financial institutions, national governments and the academic community. In particular, blockchains are identified as having the potential to bring significant benefits and innovation for the electricity consumption network. This study suggests a distributed, privacy-preserving, and simple secure smart meter data aggregation system, backed up by Blockchain technology. Smart meter data are aggregated and verified by a hierarchical Merkle tree, in which the consensus protocol is supported by the practical Byzantine fault tolerance algorithm.

With the development of IT Info-Communications technology, the vehicle with a combination of wireless-communication technology has resulted in significant research into the convergence of the component of existing traffic with information, electronics and communication technology. Intelligent Vehicle Communication is a Machine-to-Machine (M2M) concept of the Vehicle-to-Vehicle. The Vehicle-to-Infrastructure communication consists of safety and the ease of transportation. Security technologies must precede the effective Intelligent Vehicle Communication Structure, unlike the existing internet environment, where high-speed vehicle communication is with the security threats of a wireless communication environment and can receive unusual vehicle messages. In this paper, the Vehicle Identification number between the V2I and the secure message communication protocol was proposed using hash functions and a time stamp, and the validity of the vehicle was assessed. The proposed system was the performance evaluation section compared to the conventional technique at a rate VPKI aspect showed an approximate 44% reduction. The safety, including authentication, confidentiality, and privacy threats, were analyzed.

For the purpose of protecting personal property and lives from incidents, accidents, and threats such as terrorism, video surveillance equipment has been installed and operates in many places. Video surveillance technology has gradually developed into high-quality, high-definition equipment, and a lot of products have been launched. However, closed circuit television (CCTV) equipment for security purposes can invade a person's privacy. In this paper, we propose a way to protect personal video images using meta-data in an intelligent Internet protocol (IP) camera. We designed the system to mask personal video information from meta-data, define the method of image-information access according to user privileges, and show how to utilize the meta-data during storage and recorded data searches. The suggested system complies with guidelines for CCTV installation and operation from Korea's Ministry of the Interior. Installed on only a single server so far, due to the limitations and technical difficulties of hardware performance, it has been difficult to find a method that can be applied to personal image information using real-time protection techniques. Applying the method proposed in this paper can satisfy the guidelines, reduce server costs, and reduce system complexity.
